I’m just gonna throw this out there, reader beware. I know a person with ties to Apple who thinks the leak was probably intentional. Supposedly, it’s unheard of for a top secret prototype technology to leave campus grounds for any reason. So this person doesn’t believe the story that a programmer got drunk at a bar and accidentally left the phone there. Apple sometimes engages in low risk, cost free focus group testing by leaking a model to the geeky internet hordes — in this case Gizmodo via Gawker — to see what could use improvement. Based on the timing of this leak, I was told to expect a 4G release sometime in mid July.
Personally, I’m looking forward to the release of the HTC EVO. True 4G. True dat.

What will this mean for the sexbot revolution?

Given Apples normal update cycle this was 99.94% sure a little early marketing on Apple’s part. No promises, no claims, keeps their name product fresh in the media. Not so different from making sure the girlies have you on their mind without any obvious effort on your part.
The hotspot integration on the HTC EVO is going to be cool. The 4G thing not so important given its overall coverage. I bet the battery life blows esp. in hotspot mode.

Apple iPhone 4G Leak
A cell phone should be used just for emergencies. People who blab non-stop about nothing are annoying. So are those who have their noses glued to their silly iPhones. Put the phone down and go for a hike and get a breath of fresh air y’all.

Or, more likely, it was stolen from the Apple campus. Gizmodo admits to having paid for the phone.

the tech fetish thing can be a little all-encompassing if you let it. it’s just a damn phone. but yeah, iPad is not being adopted by consumers in the same way Apple had hoped form the the massive buzz and puff pieces, so they needed to show that they had something cooler (and more conventional) in the pipeline. leak, def.

Why would they panic with over 800,000 units sold and pent up demand for the 3G version?

The insecure little G4 suspects that alpha males don’t use Apple, unaware that the true alpha doesn’t give a damn what others think and uses whatever tech that happens to catch their eye, thus the hanging out in bars hoping to be noticed. But the best the G4 can hope for is a brief fling during which the alpha will openly use other tech and knowing that it will eventually be dumped for something younger or shinier or prettier or more exotic, like that cute Android over in the corner. This is the fate of any product in the harsh world of alphas and technology. But especially Apple, who are truly the meterosexuals of tech.

iPhone kicks ass as a tool for pickup. You have an instant mini-portfolio of interesting photos to DHV all you want.
Plus, girls love having something put in their hands…
I made the mistake of updating my iphone to 3.13 version, which is irreversible and lost my jailbreak.

Gizmodo got a box delivered, in it was a note that said “you found this in a bar.” Welcome to a planned leak, conveniently timed to coincide with the HTC/Verizon Droid Incredible.

ipad doesn’t disseminate as quickly/fashionably as the ipods of different shapes, colors, and sizes. however, it’s going to be the “new computer” for my grandparents, who have been rocking some ten year old dial-up pc and keeping their personal IT rep in india employed by aol. oh shit, you can’t create greeting cards on your dot-matrix printer anymore, so solly! ipad was never a game-changer; dividends won’t reflect a disappointment.
what’s next, phones that let you stream porn in 1080p while connected on safari (not the web browser), so you can jack off while on a conference call with 20 other people, split-screening the wikipedia entry for giraffe bait? we’ve come a long way since stallone’s ‘daybreak’, the movie where i got my first handjob. he WISHES he had an ipad.

How do you rate old guy game. Ed Asner, I always thought he was a liberal prick but his game doesn’t seem bad. Neg, disqualify, daddy issues. Not bad for a fat, bald 85 year old. What do you think? Although, Chelsa seems pretty easy to game.

I was thinking that – a Chinese company tortured one of its employees when it lost some prototype technology that was being made technology (he committed suicide)
Also, why would you ‘hand it in’ to anyone? Set up your own blog or give it to your geeky buddy to get their 15 minutes of fame online.

Ed Asner was running game real well in that clip esp. for an 85 yo but of course it was a repartee that host Chelsa was not doubt preplanned down with, for that classic night comedy/talk show gambit of promoting an actors new work in return for their joking or entertaining celebrity appearance.
She’s playing a really fun and sex /confidant girl with him as well. I know little about her, never seen her before, but this clip makes me like her. She did herself only good here.
Yeah yeah she’s too old for most of you by far, but she’s quite hot and fun for her age, from this clip.

I’ve got 4G for my home connection. I’ve been holding off on a mobile device until I can get the same for that, because the amount people pay for a weak 3G cell phone connection is absurd.
My bet is that eventually VOIP over 4G mobile devices will destroy the traditional cell phone. It just confounds me that people still pay $70/month for something that only needs a 14.4kbs connection.

I think the leak was intentional to deceive and divert attention. The look of the device Gizmondo found is less attractive than the previous iPhone, which if true is a setback and a let down.
Apple will surprise us in a few months with something we’ve never seen before.

I’m thinking Android based phones are a better long term solution…
The OS is used on so many phones, that it will eventually take over everything
Android is like Windows for Mobile Phones…definitely the most dominant…on the other hand you have OSX…which is a slightly smoother experience but with less functionality….
My next phone will be android based….it’s more open

I am sorry but I just dont get the whole tech thing. People practically getting raging rock hard tool’s because of a new phone or gadget. Its a fucking phone for christ’s sake! Or how about getting really worked up about who’s company has the best or most user friendly computer platform. Like they are fucking sports teams or something? Same thing with Avatar. Who gives a shit? Man alive! And no, I am not an old man.

I’m amused at the anti-tech thing. I wonder if ya’all would have thought cars or microwaves were not needed. They were and are not. But they are useful tools. It doesn’t mean you have to become a gearhead or make the neighborhood’s fast food. But you should choose the tools that make your life easier. In our current culture and especially with the younger set interacting by phone is part of the culture.
@old school – “sports teams”, really. If it is teevee you are passively sitting on your ass watching then you should probably looks inwards for the beta. Diss’ng active social interaction for passive input is just sucking back broadbased brain and body rot. If you are talking about getting out and doing thats a different thing.

@old school – I read you comment wrt sports teams as saying sports teams have importance whereas worrying about the tech UI world doesn’t. When most people get a hard on for sports it is ‘cuz they sit on their ass and watch them. I see that sort of passive activity as way less interesting then taking an active interest in just about anything.
