    Dear Lord.

    That’s just terrifying. Blood-curdling.

Cute as all git out when they’re 6.
    A lot less when they’re 21.

I may have slept with this tot’s mother. I recognize the air of childlike self-absorption and enthusiastic self promotion.

Just like the little girls dancing, this shows that the effectiveness of game is only going to increase. A girl with that much need for affirmation is going to go cock crazy when she grows up and my little cousins are neging her.

I bet you her (soon to be divorced) father pumps her full of these lies just as much as her mother does.

Roissy, I think you are reading a bit too much into it. She just seems happy to me. All I see is a kid being a kid, talking about how much she likes her family and house.

Trust me… the ones that are NIGHTMARES, are the ones that nothing is good enough for, they hate mommy and daddy and nothing is good enough. Ive dealt with kids on a daily basis for years (I teach elementary school). I think this kid will turn out ok.

Her parents really need to add some balance to the mix so that instead of only saying “I love my stuff I love my whole house”, she can move on to saying

“I love my life, I rock.”

next phase: lots of black eyeliner, fishnet gloves, and a vintage (pre-Wish album) “the cure” tshirt. bonus if she tells people to “piss off” and “I rule and everyone else shall bow to my tiny blonde conquering self.”

Kids in other cultures don’t have nearly this level of entitlement. Her happy attitude is natural for a child, but her “me, me, me” persona comes from the poisons of American culture.

Your observations of nightmare children just shows the distinction between people who are naturally crap (the nightmare kids) and kids who are “nurtured” into becoming crap, like this little girl.

I am more interested in what she will be like in 8-10 years.

After she has to bury her first/second pet, run into her child torturing peers, who will verbally rip her up on a semi frequent basis; after acne attacks, after her first period, after finding out how boys are jerks. They usually go one of two ways, slut out or dyke out.

I am intrigued by the individuals who find another way, like sporting Promise rings. Because a teenage slut is only 10 points but a teenage virgin is a 1000.

I agree with Knack, she’s just being a happy kid. I think the phenom you might be mixing this up with is attention whoring, creating unnecessary drama with parents, acting unsatisfied with everything, etc. Those are the behaviors that are intolerable in adult females. Being happy with everything around her is not. Of course, the dancing in front of a mirror reflects (heh) a certain degree of narcissism or appearance-consciousness, but that’s normal for females of every age, and not fatal.

Whether she’ll turn out to be a spoiled brat who’s entirely self centered or not, one can’t really tell from this video at her age. She’s certainly well on her way to feeling uber empowered. Whether she’ll feel uber entitled or not is less clear. Yeah there is overlap.

Missing a point there, shes doing the dance on the mirror because she is imitating someone, and she is being filmed and validated about it

Her body language is imperative and masculine, it looks like an older woman’s, theres nothing girly / soft in her

Then when she comments on her hair her ramble is more insecure. When she gets off the sink and says “I can do anything better than anyone” is like a slip, a last confession, and it shows how much wrong she is in her inculcated perception of life

So my bet is her attitude is the breed of her mother, who is filming the scene, proud of how much her kid deserves from the world

Go get them tiger, you dont need to work for it, because you deserve it.

Pretty much all kids have entitlement complexes and are self centered. It’s a psychological developmental stage. You can see this in many of the fallacies that every kid has (see Piaget) such as the imaginary audience fallacy, not understanding that not everyone can see what they see, that’s why little kids nod their head when they talk on the telephone. The problem with self-centeredness in anyone, boys girls alike, is when kids don’t learn to progress beyond that next stage of developement.

Though I have to ask, picking on little girls. What’s next kicking puppies? Stealing from the poor to give to . . . yourself.

I think that you would find many people intriguing since acne, bullies, dead pets and menstruation are fairly normal, though painful occurences–not the cause of lesbianism. Most people are resilient enough to deal with things without being permanently damaged. In fact, learning to deal is a skill that can only help a growing child.

While this little girl’s exurberance would indeed be narcissitic in a teenager, it’s pretty normal in a kid her age. And I notice she not only loves herself, but the people and things around her. That’s the beginning of gratitude in kids.

I have found the one place left in America where men can be totally sexist pigs in public, and even advocate the rape of women before hundreds of people and apparently keep their jobs. This guy is out of control, what did he drink/snort/mainline before going onstage?!?

US Naval War College Professor Advocates Rape

SAYS YOUTUBE: On May 14, 2010, the US Naval War College in Newport, RI hosted an Ethics (!) Conference where one of the speakers, a senior member of the faculty, enthusiastically endorsed violence against women, including rape.

With the full student body in attendance at this mandatory event, Professor Karl Walling of the War College’s Strategy and Policy Department discussed:

    “the pornography of violence” (0:07)

described teaching as “akin to seduction” (0:16)

“our fascination with all things sexual” (0:32)

“what does a leader do when the bitch won’t put out?” (1:51)

“if (she) will not cooperate, then make her do so” (2:04)

“real men, real leaders, do not take no for an answer” (2:09)

“when it is necessary, if one wants to hold her down, to beat her down; moreover she will like it” (2:13)

“will the bitch wait quietly for the revenge upon the bastard that raped her” (3:20)

So this is what the Naval War College, the US Navy, and the Department of Defense think constitutes “professional ethics” for our military officers? Rape? Your tax dollars at work!

They must think it’s acceptable to insult and threaten women in uniform like this, plus the wives, mothers, sisters, and daughters of men in uniform, since to date neither the Strategy Department nor the Naval War College have taken any disciplinary action against Professor Walling.

When I was living in Manhattan, one time I was at Bloomingdale’s, at the top floor with the children’s clothes, looking for a gift for my nephew, when I saw something I will never forget:

A pretty blonde girl, about the same age as the girl in the video, all by herself, wandering down the aisle, crying and wailing with a wet face and desperate eyes, dragging behind her … a big, white, frilly wedding dress.

For a second I thought she was lost, but as I got closer, I noticed what she was saying. She was howling out:

“Mommy, this is *my* wedding dress! I am going to get married in *this* dress! Mommy mommy!”

Sure enough, her mother was way in front of her, trying to ignore the little monster that our American society had created. This girl was desperate to get married, desperate for her mother to buy the dress that she needed so badly in order to justify her existence as a woman.

It was shocking and scary to see the results of American brainwashing on someone so young, her delusional anxieties laid out with such urgency.

I will never forgot that experience, and how it made me feel. That American women are completely fucked up.

I think Roissy got this a little backwards, this time.

Children are born totally egocentric. This
is NORMAL. They need to be taught,
explicitly or by the school of hard knocks,
to take other people’s feelings, points
of view etc into account, as appropriate.
(Of course, this is an area of moderation
    and compromise.)

So the 5 y.o. is normal. The question is whether
she will learn (or be taught) some restraints.

If your 5 yo is that narcissistic, you’re doing it horribly horribly wrong as a parent. You’re not supposed to wait for the big bad world to inject some reality into your little pumpkin’s psyche, you’re supposed to do that yourself. You’re a goddamn PARENT, that’s your job.

Kids are inherent psychopaths. Self-centered obnoxious douchebags that don’t give a shit about anyone else. If you as a parent don’t recognize this and start confronting it the second that kid shows a shred of personality, you’re fucked. This precious snowflake crap comes from abdication of parental duties, and the expectation that kids will turn out just fine if we let them develop naturally, which in essence means we let their psychopathy run unchecked.

Bullshit. The only difference between a hardened criminal and an untrained child is that the child is not capable of doing as much damage, and that there is still hope for the child if someone with a firm hand intervenes early enough.

Yes, I have three kids. They respect me, their mother, each other, and everyone else. They are frighteningly competent, and humble about it. They get praise when they deserve it, and they get smacked when they deserve it. They are uniformly happy well-adjusted kids, and not one of them has ever done anything remotely resembling this.

This comment of yours in fundamentally fraudulent. He’s not talking about his own views of recommendations even in wartime, but rather of Machiavelli’s in one passage. Even then it was a allegory Machiavelli used for purposes of urging ruthlessness on princes not in the bedroom, but in dealing with rival men and armies. I’m sure he went on to make even clearer how unacceptable this should be, if not tempered by such considerations as proportionate response.

You’re selective quotations of bits from it as though it were the lecturer’s own recommendations if extreme even for a radical feminist.

I imagine that excerpt on YouTube, without his own contextualizing introduction or remarks after he was done paraphrasing Machiavelli’s discussion of that allegory, was itself posted by a radical feminist with the intention to mislead, based on his not saying every other sentence how unacceptable this is. He did it the way he did it seems clear to have greater impact on warning the attendees about not taking too extreme a “realist” view without ethical guidelines on the proper conduct of war (particularly in PC America) either.

You’re intentional extreme misleading amounts to lying, clear and simple

I have no idea what this Walling guy said in the rest of the lecture, and neither do you. I am, however, quite sure that Macchiavelli never talked about raping bitches.

As for the first, there are strong hints as to why he discussed this as part of his much longer lecture in the clip itself. As well don’t be an idiot. He couldn’t possibly get away with saying this in the sense of endorsing it in a War College military ethnics lecture. It’s very much totally against the doctrine of our military. As well it would have raised a huge ruckus in the media far an wide, not just among some radical feminists who want the context of what he said — that is that he was holding it up as a power and military doctrine to NOT be followed. That is to act only in expedient ways.

As for the second, Machiavelli (who’s name you misspelled) very much did use raping a “bitch” as a positive allegorical story to somewhat shockingly (even at that time) get across the utility of ruthless action in the political power and military spheres across, in a colorful, attention grabbing way. I’ve read the Machiavelli, though not recently. It’s unlikely Machiavelli used the word “bitch” rather than some contemporary equivalent. Actually it probably was a word that signified a “fallen” woman only. Walling was paraphrasing and likely expanding the meaning, to himself have an even larger impact on his audience.

As for the grammatically use of “they’re” versus “their”, I know very well what it is. However I type very quickly with considerable typos and rarely edit. As was probably the case with your misspelling of Machiavelli.

Try not to try to be so pettily “shaming”.

Is a professor at a War college considered a member of the military on duty?

I’m not sure, it’s not my area of expertise. Is it yours?

Depends. If he’s still an active officer, yes. Otherwise no. Many lecturers at our War Colleges and similar never were in the military, when then lecture on such topics as ethics or esp. military history, etc.

However that’s not at all the larger point. See my two comments above on this topic.

I am a student at the Naval War College and attended the ethics conference referenced above. The clip you linked was taken out of context. In fact, the lecture was approximately 45 minutes in length. The professor was certainly not advocating rape, but I can assure you that the language and content used in the lecture was not endoresed by the Navy or the NWC.

It’s unfortunate that you would judge the entire Navy and Naval War College based on a 3 minute clip taken from a 45 minute lecture. I consider the Navy to be an exceptionally professional organization which I am proud to be a member. In 14 years of service I’ve seen some people make poor choices and they’re usually handled appropriately. We were addressed in person by the president of the school (2 star Admiral) shortly after the lecture in question and he expressed his disapproval and appologized for what had been said. Action is being taken against the professor for his choice of language, but the details have not yet been published.

    Mr. T–

You confirm that my interpretation of why he presented that Machiavelli allegory is correct.

Action is being taken against the professor for his choice of language, but the details have not yet been published.

I would like to know why. Because feminists on your campus raised a big stink? Wholly insufficient grounds. Talk about yet another spineless male president of an institution of higher learning when under feminist pressure. That you seem pleased is also spineless.

I don’t disagree with the literal substance of what you say here if that wasn’t already obvious (in fact I agree with you) but I think your feeling a need to make that defense of this ridiculous and well also spineless. Have you learned nothing reading here?

What pray tell was wrong with his retelling in paraphrase of Machiavelli’s allegory for that purpose? What these ideas are supposed to be forbidden to even bring up, if only to reject them? What’s wrong with you — and in this sense and area the US military, since Pat Schroeder et all?

    Mr. T–

Spineless with respect to gender issues, is what I meant.

I understand why though, since the whole US military has been since the days of Pat Schroeder and Tailhook, etc.

It’s a deliberate feminist technique. They exaggerate or thoroughly mischaracterize as here what someone says in order to instigate an unreasonable witch hunt, and force people to be even more careful about ever ruffling feminist sensibilities.

After all they may get Wallis treatment too.

Thus feminists push the line on what is taboo further and further.
