Has the Chateau been duped by a scorned beta male? A reader (who shall remain anonymous) emailed the following to Chateau headquarters regarding yesterday’s post about a woman seeking advice whether to upgrade from her current boyfriend to a luxury model alpha:
That chick has used the name [xxxxxx] to comment on other blogs. She frequents [another dating website]. She previously claimed that she was a virgin. Her real name is [xxxxxxx]. She didn’t seem dumb enough to do this so I’m thinking maybe someone with a grudge is pretending to be her. If it is really her, this is an epic fucking fail on her part.
As has been repeated here many times, if you email looking for advice and don’t specify that you wish to keep it private and off the blog, your email can and sometimes will be used for a post. The girl in question did not state any wish for her advice-seeking email to be kept private. Fair warning was given, and total privacy was offered. Chateau proprietors keep their word.
However, if it is the case that someone impersonated her, then this is unfortunate. Betas impersonating in email their cheating girlfriends, ex-girlfriends or women they just don’t like for whatever personal reason and pretending to seek advice from your humble hosts in hopes of exacting a bit of the ol’ ultravengeance through the medium of this blog are engaging in subterfuge of the vilest sort. We run a tight operation here. And the Chateau *really* doesn’t like to play the dupe.
It’s a clever ploy, and one that is impossible for Chateau keepers to defend against. Thus, because of the ploy’s indefensibility and potential to harm innocent parties, the post has been removed. In addition, all future reader mailbags have been put on hold until further notice. There is now no way for the hosts here to know which emails requesting advice are genuine and which are impersonations by sly, vengeful betas intent on summoning the Kraken for a game of “let’s her and Chateau fight”.
While there is no hard proof that the original email is fake, the Chateau has decided to take all necessary precautions and treat it as if it were fake. As a result, the reader mailbag is dead. So thank you, haxxor betas, you have ruined it for every other emailer seeking genuine advice to improve their love lives and find happiness.
Lame. Why not just remove her photos and change the names? There was still a good kernel of truth in that post. We can not let the scum win with their weak strategies built on lies.

The readers are right. This is a lame reaction, one based on fear. Fear not least of some kind of lawsuit. The moral posturing looks fake.
Chateau (clearly the collective no longer exhibits the aloofness of Roissy) went too far with their shaming and exposed themselves to potential legal ramifications, then backtracked in a cloud of squid ink.
In an effort to hide the lame, they went too far in the opposite direction and canceled all reader mailbags. Stupid for any blog. Especially stupid for this one. Advice could easily continue with the necessary anonymizing redactions.
Uber lame.
This just demonstrates 1. that uncontrolled guest blogging is a bad idea and 2. that guest blogging under the bloggers own name is outright idiotic.

If the post was a hoax, the writer did a fair job of sending the girl up. If it was a man playing girl, he fell showed his tell in only one area. He lacked feminine wile. Girls rarely knowingly paint themselves in any bad light. They don’t openly explore their motivations, especially when those could be impunged. They will deal more smoothly in falsehoods. But as to a female character, that was believable.

Didn’t get to a computer on time to see the photos. When I read the post last night on a mobile phone, I knew the photos would be up only a matter of hours.
If they were still up now, I’d be asking Roissy to please cut the girl a break because, if it wasn’t a hoax and she’d just made a mistake, this would have cost her the boyfriend and maybe her job. Not cool.
Outing the specific CTO was against the rules of solidarity among men. He had every right to try to add to his harem.

I still have the page open with the pic and her ‘fake’ email – yay for having a million windows open at once! I think she’d have to have been pretty stupid to have put the position and the company of the potential suitor and send it to the Chateau. Someone wanted her to be outed for some reason. Or she was that stupid.
She has pretty eyes, but there is no WAY she weighs what she says she does. Women always state a lower number than the actual, they can get away with it too because men really don’t have a clue what women’s weight is relative to their size. Not only that a slender looking woman can weigh more than a heavier looking one if she has good muscle development.

The photos are in my inbox. That black outfit wearing type is a big reason why I moved to Eastern Europe despite doing well enough in Manhattan and having a new cocktail party to go to every night. I was meeting this type constantly and just didn’t have my heart in it.

Since Obsidian considers her to be partly black, I’ll clarify that I referred to the type of skinny woman who wears black outfits and are, therefore, practically unnoticeable at Manhattan cocktail parties. I wasn’t being racist. I’ve seen some black tens in the Caribbean that I’d mix my genes with under the right circumstances. Actually, a believable hoax like that could play havoc with someone’s life. I was concerned last night and wanted to get to a PC to ask Roissy to take her identifying photos down.
A guy working for a major investment bank in Boston a few years ago, got a new job at a competitor’s branch in Seoul, Korea. Obviously, his social life there was a lot better than it was in Boston. A lot better is an understatement. Boston is the feminism capital of the world.
He wrote an email to 5 guys he had worked with at his previous company, basically tellling them, in detail, what the difference was in terms of his social life with women.
The letter was no different than a field report on the posts and comments here on this blog.
But only a few years ago there was no free speech on this topic…his email went viral, especially in the investment banking community. He was promptly fired, officially for using company email for private purposes.
There should be a movement to sue the bank that fired him because, if a lesbian banker had written a private email to some friends about her great lesbian life in Boston, they wouldn’t have fired her (the suit would be thrown out but a per se action would be symbolic).
He was fired for being a heterosexual who had finally found a decent place to date lots of friendly, beautiful women…and for daring to be proud of this.
It wouldn’t look good for a woman to get fired because she respected Roissy’s opinion.
Feminists would say that all women who respect Roissy should get fired.

True or not, you decide, but until proven one way or the other, it is radioactive toxic waste.

Looks like the Chateau proprietor(s) have lost their edge, the famous mean streak. I suppose that comes with success. who knows what has happened behind the scenes – the flap must have had some influence on the decision to publish personal info. But I agree with the consensus – take down the pics and other identifying information: it’s worthwhile even in the abstract, even if made up, as a case study.
However: over at the Obsidian post above, the purported “subject of the post” says, in a series of emotional comments, that it was indeed a hoax, that her Facebook acct was hacked after someone was searching for her over the Internet. If this is so, she probably e-mailed the Chateau as well with the same story. In which case they seem to have done the right thing.

And no edge was lost. The Chateau’s response to the purported letter-writer was compassionate, helpful, candid and wise, given the information in the fake letter.

As soon as I got through the first paragraph, I recognized who wrote this letter; I won’t put her screename out on Front St., but those of you who are regular readers of Hooking Up Smart will know who I’m talking about. Thing is, what she was running down to Roissy wasn’t alien in any way to me. In fact, she had told me the very same thing, about seven months ago.
You see, after writing a post about the importance location is to your Game, this young lady stepped to me, offlist, inquiring about very similar things-over the course of a LENGHTY email conversation, I might add. Of course at the time, no “CTO” was in the picture, but she was in the-then beginning stages of her relationship with Mr. Eastern Bloc, and whether she should go ahead with it or not. I won’t divulge any more than that, but suffice it to say, that she didn’t take heed to my words, and thought that Roissy’s take, such as it is, would be better.
So be it.
But, here’s the thing: we all know how Roissy feels about Black Women, or those he deems Black until he can ascertain for sure. In a word, not very highly-but that isn’t the worst part. The worst part is, that he is by no means alone. Does our young heroine honestly believe, that guys like Mr. CTO will ultimately choose her over Amy, Becky and Taylor? I mean, for the longhaul, now. Not a P&D-on the quiet?
Roissy doesn’t think so, although he’s a bit too crafty to say so outright. But if you know him, and many here do, you can read between the lines in his response to our young lady. Simply put, not only is girlfriend outta her league to begin with, but when you toss in the fact that she looks Black, it’s all but certain that Mr. (White) Big ain’t likely to put a ring on it. And when you really think about it, why should he?

Have to admit the thought crossed my mind as I was reading the email that it could very well be a hoax because it set up an almost too picture perfect hyergamy-n-hamster scenario to be publicly flayed. Then I presently got lost in the witty response and that thought faded. But I’m not surprised it was a hoax.

Point in this “hoax” though is that obsidian corroborated the story of the chick through past personnal emails with her in the past. Obsidian has knowledge of this woman. He said she sought out his advice from another blog. Then she told him she was gonna seek advice from roissy. So yea not a hoax.
So really not a question of hoax but seems legitimate request for advice.
And obsidian seems to have extensive knowledge of situation.

Ya, this is a tough trade off to weigh. I’m sending a live in back to another city today. She was my personal servant, and companion, and sex was on demand. So that’s a lot to give up just to keep an empty apartment. Especially when I don’t have a lot of dates lined up.
So I’ll have to work on lining up dates.
In the meantime, there seems to be a new applicant for position of personal servant, and you’re right – not a good idea to move her in.

You can still post reader mail if you just don’t use any incriminating info (e.g. pictures, names, etc.).
Posting the pics was idiotic for legal reasons – unless you personally meet every person visibly identifiable in every pic and get their express (and documented) permission to use each pic, etc., you’re potentially liable, but otherwise you’re pretty safe. [I am NOT a lawyer, but I’m not an idiot either.]

Not a lawyer (dropped out after failing the compulsory course on Feminism & the law in yr 1) but it would seem to me that whoever sent in those photos committed a serious AND CONSCIOUS breach of that young layd’s privacy, possibly even defamation. Much more serious than anything the Chateau has done. If caught, the hoaxer could be looking at exemplary or punitive damages. Not to mention a claim against them by the Chateau for fraudulent misrepresentation.

I don’t know if other men have noticed this, but honesty is an attractive trait. It’s a statement of supreme confidence. You just couldn’t give a shit enough to bother lying. About anything.

A big part of anger at multiple partners centers around the loss of intimacy that lies bring. It feels as a betrayal of trust – a bond broken.
That can be avoided by the habit of truth and boundaries. Refuse to talk about what you do when out, if that makes things easier. Make it known you may fuck, or that you don’t see yourself as monogamous, and will fuck.
The other thing that pisses girls off is publicly losing face. So be discreet.
The actual fucking of other girls is painful for them, but if you handle the first two, you can get away with the third, for a while, at least.
But lying and getting “caught” will just fuck things up big time. As it should.
Not that I’ve never been unforthright or lied about where I was going at night, or that I had other girls. With one sweet 19 year old previously virgin I did. Seemed somehow more appropriate – she seemed so innocent and fragile. Just saying, honesty is an option a lot of guys never even consider, and the counter intuitive and surprising thing is that it is extremely viable.
I much prefer it. And year by year I think it leads to greater life satisfaction.
