Economic Wisdom Of The Day

January 7, 2012 by CH

Debt and changing demographics are intricately entwined.

Any economist who doesn’t include in his analysis of the causes of exhorbitant debt, stagnation, unemployment and declining happiness the unrelenting force of demographic change is doing his profession, and his readers, a disservice.

Judging by the vanishingly small number of economists who take an honest look at demographics, there appears to be a general tacit consensus among them that their field of discipline is not worth servicing well.

Here’s a related post to help clarify.

Lots of economists are Asians & Indians who think like minorities, i.e. that minority groups are one bloc and whites another bloc, not understanding that they are NOT the same as blacks & hispanics. (on average)

There were saloons, bars and pubs named after the Third Reich Nazi, and Hitler in the early 2000’s in South Korea and Taiwan and some other east Asian countries other than Japan. The U.S. government put pressure on their governments to shut the places down or change the names after Jewish groups and anti-racist groups pressured the U.S.government to fix this. I was an English as a Second Language teacher in East Asia back then. It astounded me that these people would do this. Japan was their conqueror from the Second World War(WW2) or earlier in history. They hated what the Japanese did to their people in the past at best or hated the Japanese people at worst. Japan was an ally of Germany which was ruled by Hitler and the Nazis under the Third Reich in the Second World War. Japan was at least as racist, vile and violently genocidal as Germany in WW2. In my opinion, Japan was worse than Germany, and Germany was bad in WW2. Many of my students and other East Asians told me that they thought Blacks were savages, Westerners(Whites) were civilized but on civilizational decline after WW2 just like the East Asians were in the 18th and 19th centuries, and that they respected Hitler because he tried to prevent more so than any other Western leader the Whites decline. I was stunned by their responses because you would never find as high a percentage of Whites who would say the same things they did

As somone who builds scale models as a hobby, most of which are consumed, designed and made in China, Taiwan, Korea, and Japan, I’ve been aware of this East Asian fascination with Nazi Germany for some time. Your statement is true, but doesn’t surprise me in the least.

The picture is even more complex. There were some positive ties between Japan and Jews due to Jewish financing that allowed the Japanese government to grow in the early 20th century. Talk about mixed motives.

Thankyou for the support, and it no longer surprises me either. The East Asians(Orientals) think we Westerners(Whites, Gentile Whites specifically) think our civilizations are different meaning East Asian civilization is different from Western civilization because Oriental people are different from White people. and both are different from other kinds of people including Blacks, Middle-easterners, Latin Americans etc. Most like their civilization more as it should be. Many are wary of adopting the bad things from Western culture, but many like to adopt the good things from Western culture. They seem to recognize that even if they adopt something good from Western culture, it is necessarry to Orientalize it or adapt it for their needs and wants.

Example: “individualistic cultures tend to be more prone to depression and suicide”. I suppose he conveniently forgot that Japan is less individualistic than the west but has the highest suicide rate in the world

I disagree with this mate. Indians and asians do not identify with hispanics or black people. They identify more with white people. Indians do not think like minorities. Now as for the indian and asian economists, they write like minorities because that is more politically correct and they would like to keep their jobs, thank you very much. An indian economist who writes his mind will be fired, under the politically correct policies, which ironically are framed by white people. While I really dislike Advocatus diaboli, i agree with him where he says that a majority of Indian people would like nothing better than to suck white cock.

I’m on record as being ultimately unconcerned with long term demographic shifts, as I think genetic engineering will eventually surpass reproductive breeding as the method used by the most successful. If evolutionary pressures continue to exist, there is no way to avoid the fittest being designed.

However today I did a Google maps browse through on my old neighborhood and saw evidence of profound demographic shifts. I felt deeply shocked and even a bit sick to my stomach.

It’s not a philosophical reaction. I want my home town to remain of my kind. It’s saddening and shocking and even sickening to see such an unexpected change.

I suppose once I get over the shock, I’ll be able to regain a philosophical composure, but now I better understand the strong emotional reactions people have over this issue.

I’m watching ESPN and finding the irony in the fact that the blackest QB in the NFL is white. Tim Tebow wins like a black QB better than any other black QB. And no “black QB” will ever be loved more than Tim Tebow. I wonder why? Hmmmm think about it.

Look at any demographic trends: all it takes is 10 years. 10 years can completely change a community. In less than 20 years America will be a brown nation. What does that mean? Well look at brown nations. Brown people display value by killing people (Africa, Mexico, etc.). White people and Asians display value by actually creating value such as inventing technology, creating civilization and systematizing Game. Yes white armies kill people, but they utilize the niggers (the US South) of society to do that. The real leaders of a white society are by and large non-military leaders. That is one of the reasons why social conservatives are considered the niggers of white America, because they value military leadership over intellectual leaders like Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney is hell-bent on changing the immigration demographic from low-level immigrants from Mexico and the like to high-level educated immigrants from Asia. Read his book for the game plan. Btw, Rick Perry is in my city today, and I could care less. Rick Perry is a white nigger.

Unrelated (perhaps not) note: Buy diamonds instead of gold.

Romney beats Obama (half white). The white man wins again. The next 10 years America will see more white people rising to the top of the heap as the brown masses continue to rely on their minority status and violent idiocy. Affirmative Action is the future for white people as they will soon be the minority and will be the elites moving the hand of power in America. The plantation will never be larger. America will be as powerful as ever. White people grok technology faster than brown people and technology/technocrats are the future of world government. CAN’T WAIT!

Stopping new parasites or foreign matter from entering the body is only one part of any solution… getting rid of the aforementioned already ensconced in said body would be of more pressing concern.

That, or find another body for oneself… not possible at the individual level, but certainly doable for an ethnic group… that is, if said group still has the stomach to do whatever is necessary for its collective survival.

OMG what a pile of drivel from Mr. Gorton and others.

Maybe there are people who get upset at too many brands
of toothpaste, but if so, they have themselves to blame.

And arguing that there has been no loss of freedom,
at least not that bothers people, is absurd. Granted that
the loss in Canada has been more gradual (but
it started earlier), has he never heard of the various
Candian firearms act, for example. And “stateside”, the
Patriot act, the Defense Authorization act, the new threats
to the Internet etc etc? This are things anybody could
    get depressed about.

Another source of unhappiness is likely that of expectations
dashed. People in general kept getting richer throughout
most of the 20th century, despite several horrible wars.

But sometime around 2000 (or maybe earlier) per capita
growth just stopped, except for the very rich.

Regardless of the causes for this, that can make
    people unhappy.

Additionally anybody with at least half a brain knows that
the US (and most of the Western world, although
the details vary) is heading for some kind of crash
mostly due to unsustainable spending and galopping
    hyperregulation.

Now, exactly how demographics play into this is a little
harder to sort out. Obviously, the growing number
of retirees (even as a percentage) is a BIG problem.
Another, related, problem is that percentagewise,
an increasing proportion of the population is depending
on government handouts. Official statistics will often
tell you that not THAT many people are on welfare,
but If you count everybody who collects Social Security,
Food Stamps, Earned Income Credits, Medicare, Medicaid,
PIK and whatnot, we are at a tipping point where more
people depend on the system than pay for it. Once in
that situation, it is unlikely that we will get out, until
and unless a crash happens, and maybe not even then.

We really need the rule of no representation without
(net) taxation, but I cannot see it happening until
at or immediately after the crash.

There are also huge demographic swathes that completely depend on the government for their “jobs.” One guess which party they vote for – hint – it’s not the friendliest party towards men, particularly men who work in the rapidly shrinking private sector.
Beyond that, most economists do look deeply at demographics. The last few booms were in general fueled by younger boomers hitting their stride economically – most people make their largest earnings in their 40’s & 50’s – and breathtakingly confident consumer spending, along with record levels of
legal and illegal immigration – sent GDP, inflation, production, and employment to stratospheric heights.
And yes, weak Fed policy on interest rates along with tech-fueled productivity gains caused both soaring asset prices and, ultimately, and unsustsinable, two-decadelong bubble

More worrisome to me is a cultural change towards socialism, where hard work, thrift, property rights, and productvuty are disparaged and degraded in favor of “fairness,” ecology, “multiculturalism/diversity” (which are of course forewords for exclusion and reverse discrimination) , and silly, expensive, trendy BS like organic food (a complete rip-off), and recycling, which does nothing to help the environment, but instead creates huge swathes of economically stupid occupations.
In this manner, our country can change, from a free, mobile, productive nation to the equivalent of post war France. Or pre-war Poland.
When our country best and brightest seek their fortunes in DC or Sacramento, rather than NY, Chicago, or the Sun Belt, well, that way goes the end – the road to serfdom, a terrible world for men.

Making a living as an economist generally involves either working in academia (parroting conventional wisdom) or putting together justifications for policies that someone powerful wants implemented (being a useful tool). They’re basically modern priests, in other words. If they could predict economic events they’d work as (or for) speculators (and some do but their job title isn’t ‘economist’).

Economists often work for banks, insurance companies, or larger firms like GE, whose fortunes often rise & fall with GDP or economic ( & indeed, demographic) trends.
I’ve personally worked in medical economics, which entails studies of demographics, trends, data patterns, statistical models, and related topics. And of course, extensive database and spreadsheet skills are a requirement.
I can assure you it’s very “real world” – and one of the few corporate professions that hasn’t been hijacked by BA’s in designer skirts and pricey little shoes.
But yes, you’re also correct that academians who call themselves “economists,” particularly Keynesians, are pretty naive, foolish, egotistical bull–itt-rs that are simultaneously both incorrect and destructive.

Thanks for this posting, M. I watched Kassem’s* other interviews. His shtick is solid, although it is a faint rip-off of Zack Galifianakis’s always funny “Between Two Ferns.” (Which is consistently good because the guest is a full, cooperating, and talented participant, rather than a naive mark. Bradley Cooper’s interview is tops.) I like seeing the Galifianakis technique applied to the sex industry. But Akira is his best one by far, having refined the routine into something worthwhile through his previous, less-than-hilarious attempts.

“Going Deep” shows how helpful it is for the woman to be a little bit smart. Otherwise they just don’t get the game. Rather than being offended, which is important to the dynamic, they are just confused. See the Eva Ellington interview. In those instances you have to be more blunt, less subtle, more physical, less verbal.

Kassem’s (and Galifanakis’s) clips also show the importance of total commitment. Commitment is the virtue that makes the entire routine work for Kassem; it is an unwavering declaration of frame. If you are drawing attention to the game with microexpressions, even slight indications of irony or jokiness, you ruin the entire effect.

This is what women mean when they say they like “a good sense of humor.” As usual, they don’t know what they’re talking about precisely. They like the sense of command that accompanies the sturdy frame necessary for successful comedy. I know some college kids who would be alphas if they didn’t laugh at their own jokes every single time. They’re pissing all over themselves. But isn’t that the problem with young men? Too arrogant to discipline themselves out of their weaknesses, too enamored of their own recently discovered strengths to address even obvious flaws.

      ——————–
      * … despite his name being “Kassem,” which sets off my anti-multiculti bells. And yet minorities/Jews do famously make for the sharpest comedians not only because they hone their wit in the most hostile environments, but because they can get away with speaking truth in ways impossible for white men. What caucasian (besides Quentin Tarantino, arguably) gets away with saying “nigger,” for example? As for women: “comediennes” do not exist, women are not funny, the very term is a genderized extrapolation of the genuine male article, comedian.

The first link makes some interesting statements about choice. In some ways we have less choice; for instance, I certainly have less choice in health care than I did five years ago. But I also remember last year shopping for a replacement for my aging cell phone and being overwhelmed with so many outstanding choices that I couldn’t make a decision. Does anyone else see a connection between government regulation and free markets there? I also see it in my kids all the time as well; hundreds of cable channels on tap and they’ll complain that there’s “nothing good on;” hundreds of satellite radio channels in the car and they always end up listening to one of the same two.

This says it all : “Soft paternalism seems like an attractive idea to me.”

When you get to a certain age, you start hearing the same crap recycled again and again by a new generation of puffed up ignorant jerks.

Just another left winger trying to rationalize taking away economic freedom, while keeping his stupid, cushy job.

Readers of a certain age will remember the storm caused by “The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit.”, published in the 1950’s. The thesis was that increasing numbers of people were going to work for large, impersonal corporations, and they would lose enthusiasm and personal investment in the corporation, and wind up very alienated and dissatisfied with their work life. Forgive me if I have some of this wrong, I read that book 45 years ago, but that is the basic thrust. This book took the academic world and the pop cultural elites by storm too. Of course, it turned out, in retrospect, that people loved having a nice cushy job in a large corporation, and we sorely miss those kinds of jobs today.

Moving forward into the 1960’s, I believe, the academics were writing heavily about workplace alienation some more, this time using large factories for their area of concern. They claimed that assembly line workers were becoming numbed and mindless workers, alienated from their job, and finding no satisfaction from their work. Sweden was often noted, in that the Swedes had heavy rates of call outs and sick time in their factories. The big concern by our academics, then, was, we might wind up like Sweden. When they left the office and went out to the factories, to you know, actually gather up some facts, they found out that line workers found their jobs meaningful because they were part of a process that built stuff, stuff you could hold, wear, drive, etc. It turned out that that the academcis in sociology were the ones becoming alienated from their work, because their work was pointless. Those useless academics couldn’t conceive that the average person found satisfaction in building real stuff.

Our academics have done and said so many stupid things that it is a wonder we continue to support them. For example:
    1. The great challenge we faced in the 1960’s was leisure time, brought about by automation.
    2. The IQ gap could be closed. The effort died with a whimper. They did ban IQ tests, so the gap did go away. However, the concept has been resurrected and now rebranded as “no child left behind.”
    3. White children were suffering by being denied black classmates.
    4. Everybody should go to college.
    5. Single parenting was equal to marriage in terms of the quality of childrearing.
    6. Unrestrained immigration is good for our country.
    7. Deficit spending is normal and healthy.
    8. The crime problem can’t be solved until we solve our social problems.
    9. Gender is a social construct, with no basis in biology.
    10. Central planners should limit the growth of the suburbs, and people should be encouraged, or forced, to live in urban centers. Nice idea, but the looney ideas of the academics (items 3, 5, 6 and 8, for example) made the urban setting unfit for middle class families, who fled to the suburbs.
    11. Famine was going to overtake the world in the 1980’s unless drastic cuts were made in population growth. Instead, non-academics applied more fertilizer and developed better seeds.
    12. Now, were are going to face climate catastrophe because we burn fossil fuels. This, too, will die with a whimper.

Back to this post. I am sure that if you looked at people in this country who were prosperous enough to have a plethora of consumer choices, and had stable incomes and jobs, you would find that the stressors in their lives were not caused by their economic freedoms. People can be unhappy from a variety of causes, the most pernicious one being the gap between expectations and reality. For example, going through a midlife crisis, a major stressor for well to do people, since they have enough money to worry about these things, is just the realization that you will never achieve the things you thought you would when you were younger. Only a big deal if your belly is full. Our academics are just out to lunch about what makes the average person happy. What else is new.

Excellent post. The reason our academics get away with this stuff is because the consequences usually take a generation or two to work themselves through the system and are actively ignored or distorted to show that thigns are working according to the progressive scheme ot things after all. Meanwhile, no one remembers the old ways except for a few “disgruntled old men” who are angry at the loss of their privilege. Progressives are naive at best and sinister at worst.

Changing demographics of course plays a large role in the long-term; however, the role is all but nonexistent in the short-term. Economics as practiced by university teachers can take the more pragmatic long-term approach. However, with constant re-elections, economics as practiced in the real-world only deals with a short-term fix.

The banks created a situation that was far too big for Keynesian economics -amounting to 10s of trillion dollars of stimulus efforts – to fix. Unfortunately, it’s the bulk of America that suffers most.

Partially changing demographics, mostly due to women getting the right to vote. Women generally view the government as the provider of last resort and have consistently voted in favor of the welfare/nanny state.

What an injustice it is that millions of men in our country can’t get laid, yet dutifully pay their taxes under threat of imprisonment to feed, clothe, educate, and shelter the bastard children of whores.

So, a repeat of your solution would be for immigration to be contained via fence/wall, entitlement reform (if you can expand here that would be cool), flat tax (not sure if you support this), and what else?

And, I guess just as importantly if not more, what do you do with the folks here already (black/Hispanic,etc.)

probably make the brown people already here get jobs and pay taxes (instead of getting EITC refunds), instead of paying them to make babies. Read that many black men just don’t work, they’re not present in the workforce. That needs to change. Basically, defend the borders and reward hardwork and good decision making, not subsidizing bad decisions/lifestyles.

Entitlement reform/flat tax may be a necessary evil in the U.S. Socialism might work in countries like Germany and Italy, but we simply have to much diversity here. Building a wall may not even be necessary if we remove the incentive for coming over in the first place.

Its not just diversity. its also a the fact that in the US. The system would be gamed shamelssly from the very start due to our capitalist culture and outlook. Socialism requires lots of people to willingly sacrifice their self interest for the greater good. Some societies have a cultural predisposition to self sacrifice which will allow socialism to prosper in the enar term. But eventually, the producers see they’re bing exploited and start to become parasites instead because that is where the incentives lie. Nations like Germany and Sweden, with a strong ethnic culture of self policing individuals who see it as morally imperative to do so, can postpone the reckoning of when they run out of other peoples’ money, but can’t put it off forever. Ina socilaist system, the resolve to be self sacrificing erodes almost immediately and after a couple of generations, the cracks become very apparent. Hence the need to deny reality in order to perpetuate the system.

I actually believe that socialism onl “works,” politically at least, in countries that had long traditions of paternalistic governments. To this day, the descendents of British, French, German, Italian, and Spanish aristocrats (literally titled or landed gentry) dominate much of their civil service.
A job in banking, business, engineering, sales, or tech is seen as grubby, fit only for the proles or petit bourgoise.
America, however, never had a feudal system that “ennobled” landowners – no kings or princes or dukes.
American class fluidity and individualism tended to keep socialism, with it’s huge cadres of regulators, enforcers, and bureaucrats, at bay.
Until and unless, of course, we become a nation of communal, collectivist weaklings, dependent on an aristocrat class (likely ivy league grads) to design and regulate our health care, housing, employment, and property.
Because we should have, I think, a pretty good idea who the helpless, ignorant, fearful, or lazy would vote for, and for whom they’d place in power.

Not the British. In Britain, unlike the Romance countries, civil service
(unless you are at a VERY high level) is not considered great.
The French awe of fonctionnaires is absent in Britain – as it
is, or used to be – in the US (no surprise, with narrow exception
American culture is the same as British). But yes, landowning was
the cat’s miau in Britain until a couple of generations of heavy taxation
destroyed the landowning class (at least those who didn’t
understand the survival value of clever tax attorneys, which
        most of them did not).

And in Britain, jobs in banking and even in business
are considered OK under certain conditions, even by the
        old guard. Ask Kate Middleton.

I agree with this as well. Europeans never really got over enlightened absolutism as their system of government and merely made it somewhat more democratic than it was under the King, Kaiser, Roi, or Czar.

However, Europeans have a completely different notion of what freedom is from Americans. I also agree that our political elites are seeking to entrench themselves as permanent nobility and that Ivy league types also tend to see themselves as a meritocratic form of nobility, although 2/3s are legacy admissions to their particular Ivy League school. This is already the case in Europe and has been so for most of this century. Americans need to realize that European nations are states with national levels of income and are quite incestuous politically for that reason. Far more so than we would liely be comfortable with.

When productive White folks finally wake up and realize their rights… indeed, their very safety… is being robbed from them by the same democratic process that they’ve falsely worshiped for too many years, they will cede those parts of America that are (for all intents and purposes) part of Mexico and/or Africa and carve out whatever subset nation for themselves that they are able… current wisdom says somewhere in the Northwest Pacific with significant parts of the Midwest and/or western Canada.

I traveled a lot and it’s the same story everywhere. A bunch of cunts start by calling for women’s liberation. Then, some women start to “own their body” by slutting it up, all women intensify shit tests (on house chores for example…). Many men become pussified equalists or kitchen bitches. And the rates of sluttery and cuckoldry skyrocket.

Just full alpha ahead, intelligence and wealth and even “non-sexual charisma” be damned. They’re dead-set on killing the West for seemingly no reason at all. There is a phenomenon in certain areas of the Pacific called cargo cults. The tribal people living there were exposed to the technologically superior Americans during WWII. They witnessed American aircraft brining in an endless array of food and other goods, and they figured the cargo was a sort of magic. Despite generations having passed since then, tribal people in these areas can still be found practicing cargo cultism today where they engage in ridiculous military marches as a form of ceremonial ritual or magic and create faux runways, airplanes and towers with bamboo in the hopes of luring cargo aircraft to them. You can watch a brief clip about cargo cults here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7RA4UnEuQ0

Although many of us would ridicule these primitive people for subscribing to such beliefs, liberals in our own time have a cargo cult mentality. They think that if you give enough government money and affirmative action to certain demographic groups that all problems will be solved, everyone will be equal and everything will be well and good. However, redistribution programs don’t bring forth the fruits of equality for the same reason ceremonial military parades and faux aircraft items don’t bring forth the fruits of cargo.

As much as the mainstream media won’t admit it, our country is going to be more like the Third World in future generations because of the current demographic shift.

Hard working Mexicans are hard working because they are afraid of being caught and returned home. Their children especially if they were born in the USA are no better than White Americans and are often worse. The problem is that the children and grandchildren of these hard working Mexicans become citizens who then vote progressive(Democrat) to suck off the government teat. I doubt that the progeny of our ruling elite will have an easy time convicing these U.S. citizens of Mexican ancestry that they are racially vile and deserving of their own destruction the way they have to the Gentile Whites. The ruling elite will then have more problems when they want to replace the Mexicans with a cheaper more docile know nothing population to do the jobs Americans don’t want to do in the future. If our ruling elite has any memory and sense of history, they will regret destroying the White Gentiles and making them outcast minorities in their own countries. At least with Gentile Whites our ruling elite for the most part had the best thing available long term, but they decided to destroy majority Gentile White countries for short term gain. Their descendants will regret this. Of course I wouldn’t count on it because once Blacks were the docile cheap know nothing labor. Now there are jokes about Blacks being antique farm equipment. All I have to say to our ruling elite is good job destroying people.

So true. Count on genocidal rage the way the monarchies of Russian Revolution in 1917 and French Revolution in 1789 as well as the Hatian Revolution of 1790’s to take place from the peasants especially if they are of a different race, ethnicity or religion. Repeat performaces happened to the Tutsi from the Hutus in Rawanda or the former Yugoslavia etc. Never invite in a group of people to be the slaves, indentured servants or low paid workers that your descendants will never breed with because they are realistically unable to do so or refuse to breed with. This is especially true if they are of a different race or to lesser extent ethnicity. This is true of religion, but not nearly as much because people can more easily change religions than race or ethnicities. People can not change race or ethnicities so easily despite our ruling elite insisting that when everyone is the tan everyman of every race, we’ll be fine. We won’t. Look to Haiti for a history lesson. The Whites and Mulattoes beat on and killed the Blacks until the Blacks and Mulattoes beat on, killed and drove out the Whites. Then the Blacks and Mulattoes have been beating on and killing eachother ever since in Haiti.

I forgot to add that playing nice doesn’t seem to be any better than playing nasty or something in between. Fences make good neighbors especially if it is different races, ethniciites and religions in exactly that order. I’m not a Racist nor a supremicist of any kind, but rather a Race Realist with a touch of Racial nationalism(Fences make good neighbors) thrown in. I really do wish on an emotional level that we could get along. However my logical side tells me this is not so at least not forever. I follow my logical side in emotional agony and irritation because it’s the right thing to do. The only reason I try make nice with other races and religions is because I try to do unto others as I would have others do unto me. Oddly for the time being I’m all for living in racial and religious harmony today because I abhor violence especially as a U.S. Army veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, but I realize that our chances of doing it forever are a long shot at best. Most people are brainwashed fools who believe this racial and religious comity will last forever. Look around the world. It never does. It won’t in the USA either for as much as it pains me to say because I love the USA too and have loved others who are not the same race or religion as me.

Even at December’s elevated job creation rate, it would take about seven more years—until around 2019—to absorb workers who lost jobs as well as new entrants into the labor force. We are 10 million jobs shy of where we need to be.
    [snip]
While immigrant employment (the red line) rose by 4.7% from January 2009 through December 2011, native-born employment (the black line) slumped by 2.0%.

Blacks don’t even work anymore. Look at their ridiculous unemployment numbers under their half black/white POTUS.

Not going to look for the editorial, but it was commented on that another artifact from the bygone era of Mad Men was all the working blacks on that show. Now, the left has ensured that the only place they work is in government office positions, otherwise, modern black men aren’t working. see e.g., (even though she’s a girl) Helen Jones-Kelley, who made sure that she abused her position in the government to have Obama’s back.

“And, I guess just as importantly if not more, what do you do with the folks here already (black/Hispanic,etc.)”

It is a logical error to presuppose that a desired solution is implied by criticism, or that any solution is even possible, and insistence that the critic must have some solution, implying of course that it would discomfit or harm certain groups, is a rhetorical device to stifle or retard the criticism.

seriously, what good is the choice of 100 flavours of ice cream to choose from, when you only have two political parties to vote for?

And no matter which of said two parties get elected, the same miasma perpetuates along the same downward spiral.

So you would prefer two types of ice cream and two political parties?

The unemployment rate is misleading since they calculate it based on unemployment claims rather than the actual number of unemployed people. This is a pretty good explanation

I like Koreans. I think they are very honorable. They are trustworthy. I lived in Korea for two years. I lived in the Philippines for two years as well. I love the Philippine people, but I don’t trust them. I think you can see the difference. Being nice is not the same thing as being trustworthy.

A tall handsome beta is surprised that a former meth head chose him:

Sad how some betas, no matter how successful/good looking they are, will never get to know the truth, and the game they’re being played in.
