The game scene is riff with commercial BS.
Just look at some of the titles of some of these products; I’ll use Mehow as an example:

So guys are that were once really into PUA (like me) just see this stuff as the BS that it is; I’m not saying all gurus are like this but there is a race to the bottom to make money. How can an honest guru compete with another one who is telling naive young guys that they can get get any women and they will do anything to sleep with you in just 10 seconds? Everything is marketed as a “secret,” some hidden mystical knowledge. I feel bad for these young guys who are getting ripped off big time wasting many thousands on such garbage.

Yes I agree but the difference is that for the most part the charlatans are MAINSTREAM in PUA; therefore the analogy does not hold.

[there’s nothing wrong with effective marketing as long as it doesn’t stray too far from what it claims to deliver. and dyd does deliver, as does mystery, on their basic, fundamental claims. i have used quite a few dyd c&f lines to good effect, and mystery is spot on when he describes seduction as proceeding along a predetermined path from attraction to comfort to intimacy. i think you have to have more confidence in yourself and in other men that most will be able to look past the obvious marketing flim flam and see the useful stuff behind it.
and let’s not forget that you don’t need to pay for anything if your goal is to learn the basics of game and get started on your womanizing (or wife training) career. probably 70% of the valuable stuff is floating around the net for free.]
I think that if you spend some time on these mainstream sites (maybe you have) it becomes clear that the marketing is BS and therefore the mainstream PUA scene is mostly charlatans.
[marketing is enticement, just like game. the marketer is trying to sell a good product that has a high chance of otherwise going unnoticed in the din of discussion. that charlatans crop up in a crowded field and exaggerate the effectiveness of their product is by no means an absolute indictment of the worthy parts of the concepts being packaged and sold.]
