So instead of meditating on the subject like rational actors (heh), they threw feces all over their cages, hoping a turd would fly true, which it never did, for hosts at Le Chateau are much more agile than our enemies comprehend.
There are some ideas that are simply too bowel-twisting to allow examination in the light of free inquiry. But through dint of mischievous spirit and self-amusement, Chateau Heartiste has paved the way for once-forbidden subjects to be openly discussed in widely-read publications. A crack in the liars’ edifice has opened, and sunlight is streaming through. Warm, invigorating sunlight, the kind that burns away the choking mists of self-deceit and puts a bounce in the step. For men to “man up”, their instincts should be tamed by limitations and incentives. I see none, therefore the dark triad will raise.

It goes beyond just accepting or rewarding violence. Women often seek it (although they are careful to maintain plausible deniability). I would guess that in about 50% of the situations where things got extrmely heated and I was attempting to extricate myself before getting violent, the woman took steps to stop me from leaving — block the exit door, hide my car keys, etc. — with full knowledge that I was close to snapping.

Originally chivalry was designed to get men to be less violent. The nobility in the Middle Ages lived to fight. We have a sentimental Victorian and Rousseau-ian version of it today, one that has created a myth of female cultural and intellectual superiority. Rousseau wrote like that about women and then abandoned his five children to be raised in a work house.

When women say they like men with money they say so within the context of a culture where money is power. Today, in the western world, it is money, because money gives a person the power to influence society in a greater way. The pussification of our society may be related to its population pyramid.
Back in the good old days, our population pyramid had lots of young people, and very few older people. But when a society ages, it becomes more and more dominated by middle-aged and old people. And since women live longer than men, that means a LOT more middle-aged and old women. And that means we have to hear a lot more of their bitching.
Caveat: In Eastern Europe, there are also lots of old hags. But they’ve been beaten down by the Communist system and so know how to shut up. That’s not true for Western women, though.

The inherent problem with these type of conclusions are that not many people comprehend that attraction and what you do with it are two different things. In fact, even the Chateau misses this (or at least, neglects to mention it) from time to time.
Truth is, we have NOTHING to learn from men that beat their women (or at least, that beating the women is not what causes attraction – at least not in normal women…). And lets put the world of BDSM aside for now.
There are many men with ATTRACTIVE QUALITIES.
SOME of these men are good to their women, and their women keep coming back for more love BECAUSE of this.
SOME of these men are bad to their women and their women keep coming back for more love (or rather, comfortless attraction) *DESPITE* this.
I am aware of the “contrast / rollercoaster” theory – that a man who is decently good to a woman at times and very bad other times (see the “I love the way you lie” clip by Eminem/Rihanna with Megan Fox, this song even has a thought provoking relationship article about it somewhere around the net) gives more “contrast” than a man who is always very good to his woman and never bad. This theory is not without merit, but too simplistic; Not all women respond the same, and not all people are so dopamin resistant that they need a continuing rollercoaster of emotions to feel alive. Most cool, chill alphas are content with being good to their women, and merely putting their foot down when something is astray, or nexting the girl so she can cool off and miss her man.
Beating a woman is not, in and of itself, an attractive quality. Far from it. I’d be willing to guarantee that 99.9% of the time a man beats a woman, his inner game is weak and he is losing control, alpha or not. Yes, some VERY RARE incidents may warrant a slap – stealing from me, betraying my deepest trust, etc, – but these rare incidents apply REGARDLESS of gender.
All in all – we have nothing to learn from Chris Brown. I believe Usher gets all the high quality women he wants without ever having to raise a finger on a girl. I belive if you want to study a bad-boy, examine John Mayer’s relationships and how he broke the hearts of many celebrities, all without ever raising a hand on anyone.
Bottom line – beating a woman isn’t attractive. It is more likely that woman come back to the relationship despite this, or because of not-so-optimal personality traits. When you pair a violent man with a drama-seeking women who needs a strong man to submit to, you get a recipe for disaster. He needs anger management. She needs psychological help.
Don’t beat women up. For that matter, don’t beat people up. Unless they are trying to kill you.
