The dissident temperament has been present in all times and places, though only ever among a small minority of citizens. Its characteristic, speaking broadly, is a cast of mind that, presented with a proposition about the world, has little interest in where that proposition originated, or how popular it is, or how many powerful and credentialed persons have assented to it, or what might be lost in the way of property, status, or even life, in denying it. To the dissident, the only thing worth pondering about the proposition is, is it true? If it is, then no king’s command can falsify it; and if it is not, then not even the assent of a hundred million will make it true.

Before clicking the link, can you guess which stout-hearted, free thinker said the above? Was it Galileo? Solzhenitsyn? Perhaps some lesser known Medieval monk? What brave soul grips the sword and presses the shield against the rampaging bloodlust of the stupid, deceitful, witch-burning mob?
Hint: It wasn’t Lena Dunham. Nor Hugo Schwyzer. Nor Rich Lowry. It certainly wasn’t a typical SWPL plucked from the soft ensconcing of SWPLdom.
This one person and a few lonely allies is supposed to fill the Cathedral with fright? You scoff. But it only takes 10% of a population, committed to an idea, to change the course of history. Raise your shield, for your enemies are not as invincible as they seem, even now when they hurl themselves at you tooth, claw… and underbelly.

Long live The Derb.

I suspect the ten percent will soon be knocked up! 🙂 The only thing I think people need to consider for the future is how much stronger forces would be by the bond of physically meeting. You guys should really consider a Manosphere Convention. Don’t you want to see some of us gals in cocktail dresses passing out the drinks? 🙂

You’re absolutely right. This is all hot air without meeting in person. In some ways it is no community at all, but an impotent simulacrum, the equivalent of a hologram.
Right now the bonds are too general, though. We are united by an abstraction, nothing to bring us together in action outside of crude “sarging.” These are anonymous, proto-Men’s Clubs too far-flung to come together practically. I’ve come to see that few of the pioneers of this iteration of game have no interest (or idea how) to go to the next level. Pussy has a way of slithering back up the pedestal like a slug.
But you are on the right track. The next stage will be all-men speakeasies where we drink and plot. Twenty-First Century Tun Taverns.

It would be fairly simple to orchestrate. Pick a weekend for sometime down the road so people have time to plan and save. Choose a major city and use the donate button to fund the rental of a convention space. Or try to find free spaces somewhere. Then nominate speakers to cover various topics from pick up to psychology to history, etc. and build a lecture schedule. People would be on their own for travel, meals, accomodations, etc. but, depending on how many people attend, some sort of evening gathering would be fun.

What they do is target ELITES not the whole country, and provide enough social, political, economic, and status pain to make the elites change. This means stunts, acts, protests, boycotts, buycotts, and the like to make elites suffer for going against their wishes and benefit from simply assenting.

Interesting that all that is needed for change is that 10 % of the population adopts the change,
but the problem is that the media is making it look as if 90% of the population agrees with their sick suicidal leftist/feminist/gay anti-white anti-western civilization cult
the right is not much better but it still the lesser of two evils
and if anyone can be applauded for doing some dissent these days it is the right
the left is the establishment now, they don’t even need 10% of the people to bring change, they control everything and that is even more “powerful”

“The greatness of a movement is exclusively guaranteed by the unrestricted development of its inner strength and its steady growth up to the final victory over all competitors.
Yes, we can say that its strength and hence the justification of its existence increases only so long as it recognizes the principle of struggle as the premise of its development, and that it has passed the high point of its strength in the moment when complete victory inclines to its side.
Therefore, it is only profitable for a movement to strive for this victory in a form which does not lead to an early momentary success, but which in a long struggle occasioned by absolute intolerance also provides long growth.
The greatness of every mighty organization embodying an idea in this world lies in the religious fanaticism and intolerance with which, fanatically convinced of its own right, it intolerantly imposes its will against all others. If an idea in itself is sound and, thus armed, takes up a struggle on this earth, it is unconquerable and every persecution will only add to its inner strength.”

Derbyshire is a trail blazer. There will be many more like him to follow in the coming years. But it takes enormous courage to pick up the standard and run headlong and alone into the enemy line, aided by nothing but a zeal for truth. You take the brunt of the attack, you don’t live to see what you have wrought, and your brothers behind you are encouraged to follow, lifting high the flag once again. Right now our timidity and cowardice are keeping us from joining his high-profile, solitary position, but the rally will soon follow.
His British accent and locutions take the edge off his conservative radicalism: imagine the PC lynch party for him if his words were conveyed in a down-home Alabama twang.
Sailer, Derbyshire, and the entire staff and writers at Taki Mag deserve our open support. Winking and whispering encouragement in lieu of boldly locking arms have reached their maximum effectiveness, and it’s time to drop the pseudonyms, to pledge our lives, fortunes, and sacred honor, and to muster forces for the decisive battle.

The way to win is simple, provide a service that people want and that you control in the majority.
People want ‘alpha male’ or at least the image and fruits of it, men and women alike. Women want to fuck them and men want to become them. So if you convince the men that are already in the alpha category to escew committment and then you take a significant portion of the betas with high potential off the marriage/committment market, you will have delivered the death blow to female supremacy in intersexual realtionships.
By taking all the potential good fruit and giving them the red pill, you bring western sexual dynamics to it’s knees, waving a white flag. When all that’s left for women for even the hope of marriage is lesser betas and below, then it’s game over.
All you need is 10 percent but you need the right 10 percent. If the manosphere goes big and more and more started to defect to the truth it’s going to be quite a show. I have my popcorn ready.

I see the claim that the truth value of a proposition is the only (or the most) worthy subject of study pop up time and time again, most recently by way of Derb and Kanazawa. The last hundred or so years of discussion on the issue seems to have passed them by.
For purely analytical statements, there is an increasing minority that prefers to focus instead what the possible proofs of a statement are, i.e. what would constitute an admissible construction to show that the statement is indeed the case. The resulting process of inquiry is quite different from the truth-value seeker’s.
For general empirical statements, the interest for a working scientist is not so much whether it is true, but what the state of affairs must be like for the statement to be false, and if any of those states can be brought about convincingly and bear out. Via Hume, demonstrating that a general empirical statement is consistent with some basic observational statements does not really get you anywhere with respect to demonstrating its (binary) truth value.
In engineering, the interest in a general empirical statement is usually one of utility and practicality; given that the statement is true, what initial conditions and intermediary states of the world are, by implication, ruled out when trying to bring about some desired state?
In sum, taking Derb literally, he seems to exclude a large group of potential dissenters who are in perfect agreement with him with respect to the irrelevance of proposition origins and the non-effect of the assent of millions.

The hero who gave that inspiring speech needs to have a heartfelt talk with the broken-spirited creature who wrote the following:
“If tomorrow I submitted a piece to National Review saying ‘Kevin MacDonald is really onto something. He’s doing great work and I think everyone should read him,’ the editors would reject the piece, and they would be right to do so. I don’t think I would be canned for submitting such an article, but if it happened, I would not be much suprised. . . . A conservative magazine can’t afford to let a writer say anything nice about MacDonald without putting it under some such title as ‘The Marx of the Antisemites’ . . . National Review wants to get certain ideas out to the U.S. public – ideas about economics, politics, law, religion, science, history, the arts and more. To do that, the magazine needs standing in our cultural milieu. It needs status. . . . Ergo, as I said, NR would reject a piece of the kind you suggest, and they would be correct to do so. *I* would do so if I were editor of NR.”
