Kaepernick is half-white, right? Which was part of my point. Vince Young could win, and Alex Smith struggled — the Wonderlic looks statistically irrelevant. Unless it somehow correlates to the ability to adjust to pocket passing. The added run dimension which blacks typically bring to the position typically gets neutralized through injury or loss of speed in the first third of their career, so the transition to the complex reads of pocket-passing seems to be the stumbling block. Kaepernick looks like he can make that transition, like Steve Young did, but the point is, a transition must be made.

I am technically obese. I’m over 40 and recovering from hypothyroid and the bad dietary advice I got to cope with that which almost killed me.
In addition to that, I’m psychologically recovering from not once, but twice being told I wasn’t good enough for a serious relationship with the guys because I’m not Jewish, after dating each of them for more than a year.
Here, I found the answers to why, that I wouldn’t have found anywhere else. It has helped me sanely navigate an extremely hostile dating environment. Stop thinking about yourself for a moment, and think about the guys. They’re telling you what they’re feeling, and what they feel is that women who are over 30 or ugly in some way are low value. Take their word for it, and suck it up. Nobody owes you to value you, and no matter how wonderful you are, how many lives you save, how well you cook or suck a cock, some guys are just not going to give a rat’s ass.
This world runs on interest, and if you don’t have something that someone else can profit from, then you are, to them, worthless. You don’t need to waste your life trying to be worth something to those determined to view you as worthless.
Key words here, you don’t need to waste your time. Why? Your time, especially since you’re a woman, is limited. If you’re doing anything to contribute to the world, it is also valuable, and you need to manage it accordingly.
Getting caught up in “you go girl” Hollywood b.s. is a waste of your time, and a waste of you as a resource. It keeps your head in the clouds when it should be at eye level with other people, especially guys you might have a snowball’s chance in hell of getting loved by.
Reality keeps you aware that you need men’s mercy. That makes you behave in a way that makes you more attractive to men. Although men are empirical and especially status conscious betas know very well how you rank among other women, men are not shallow. Most are perfectly capable of loving someone who is imperfect. However, if the first thing you throw in their face is your interests and not your assets, they will rightfully consider what is in getting with you for them aside of affection, and judge the shit out of you. It’s their job in Nature to filter out bitches so humans don’t have to be born with teeth and walking already.
Seriously, even my friendships with my bros are better since I came here. I let them do their job of protecting me. Get over yourself and pay attention.

At no point has anyone said particularly that you must be “young, pretty and nice” to get a man. The reality is that those things are the best and most effective assets to have when trying to “get a man”. If you lack one or more of those qualities, your road to securing a high status man for anything beyond a single night is diminished. The further away on the spectrum from those traits the greater the diminishment.

Pretty doesn’t even mean you have to be supermodel material (before you go on about how you can’t help your looks). You can be as attractive as you can be by taking care of yourself, working with whatever you’ve got and making the most of it. Pretty much like you expect a man to do, right? A pretty person is more than a pretty face. Be the best person you can be in every aspect of your life and it will bleed over into your dating life. Granted, you may never get a young, hot, loaded stud, but were you ever going to get one of those, and if you were, where is he because you’d have him by now?
Being nice is easy: just be nice. Think about yourself on the receiving end of your next action and act accordingly. Especially with men. Women, you can’t change and they’re a whole different level of relationship anyway that we’re not talking about now. But imagine how emasculating it is for a man to want to approach you and either feel so emasculated or turned off by your attitude that he decides not to? You both lose.
You seem very resentful because things don’t go your way but what are you doing to change that? Because if you’re doing nothing, that’s your fault and you shouldn’t expect people to have sympathy for your self-victimization. And how can you expect a man to even want to be with you if you either act like an old hag or give him the feeling you disrespect him because he even wants to be with you?
I’m older than most of the women who comment here. I am happily married and not looking for another man but that doesn’t mean I get to act like an asshole with everyone else in my life. I still act like a lady: I don’t curse in public, I don’t act showy and stupid, I wait for my husband (and almost every man I encounter daily) to open doors for me (and they do, VOLUNTARILY and I thank them), I smile very often, I greet people and respond in kind to their greetings, I offer assistance where I can, whether getting an item off a shelf for an elderly person, holding a door open for someone with full arms picking up dropped keys, whatever, and generally act like I think everyone should regardless of how everyone else is acting. I have positive interaction with people throughout my day, every day. I don’t act like a bitch with a man because he is unattactive or overweight or whatever when he’s being nice or helpful to me. I give him the opportunity to be a MAN, even if it’s just for a few seconds of his day, and thank him for his assistance.
Everytime I have a bad moment or someone is a bit unkind, I wonder what I’ll gain by acting like a bitch. If it’s nothing but dirty looks for those around me or more attitude, why do it? The person I’m directing it at won’t care; they’re already being unkind so what’s a bit more? Something egregious, though, I will act accordingly; don’t mistake kindness for weakness.
Maybe you need to rethink your own attitude before you put the onus of everything bad in your life on other people. I get from your writings that it’s not only your dating life you’re unhappy with.

Yaser, I think you’re right, but I’d add that at least the sincere attempt to keep one’s self looking as good as reasonably possible is an act of love for one’s man. If one is single, it shows that you love and care for yourself, and will probably extend that to him.
So looks do count for a lot, just not in the overly simplistic way most women think.

What do my measly efforts matter if the hidden hands control everything? I am not paralyzed by self guilt, but I seek responsibility and fault for everything because that gives me privilege over everything, as blame is the flip-side of freedom.
Further, I don’t underestimate how grave the situation is. I assume it will take my life. Everything beyond that is an unearned and undeserved bonus. I serve the Lord and trust utterly in his Providence, like a child. The victory has already been secured by my master. My job is merely to proclaim it, to bring about the kingdom, and to not get in the way of his holy justice.
By the mercy of God, man’s “narrative” has a happy, not tragic, conclusion. Such has been promised, and so it is written. I pray that his mercy finds my wayward, unworthy soul. All the rest is irrelevant detail.

Well, I doubt Europe is going to be our salvation. The mentality there is not of absolute freedom like we had developed in the USA, before the Constitution was ratified even. Our mentality is based on our strong Judeo-Christian values. It’s not the same in Europe, save Great Britain to some extent. If you don’t have the mindset that submitting to the State is tyrannical, or that the State should submit to you, or that the State is your agent and it works for you (not the other way around), you can’t win this war, period. The signers of the Constitution believed natural rights were inalienable, and they supersede the government. It’s not a concept found anywhere else, except the Old Testament. Hence, Fascism can’t satisfy, and it’s not the answer to our troubles.
The “essence” of our Constitution is very simply the following:
Man is a free being; his rights are not derived from the Government, but from the Creator or the Natural Law, if you will. God created him in his image and thus free, not subservient to any other man or the State. And even if some don’t believe in God, most of us understand that bowing to the State or to other men’s will diminish the majesty of our personhood/creation. Each of us must believe that we are a special creation to comprehend the concept that our rights don’t come from other men or a State that doesn’t necessarily have our best interest at heart and is collectivist in nature. Therefore, our rights come from a higher source – the Creator or the Natural Law.
That’s why I doubt our salvation is going to come from clueless/progressive/Godless Europe. However, I know that in the UK there are some new ideas budding along the lines of the tea party, if that is any consolation. These other Fascistic Neo-N groups in Europe have no respect for human rights, individual rights, and the pursuit of happiness. We are as foreign to them as they are to us. That’s why they hate us.
Golden Dawn is worth shit. Neo-N/fascist bullshit is not the answer. Haven’t Europe been there before? Why don’t people learn from their past mistakes? Lots of things are accidents of history…but that aside, the Greeks took a ton from Africa: an enormous portion of Greek art and architecture was drawn directly from Ancient Egypt, as was the case to a lesser extent with philosophy and other pursuits. The Greek alphabet, too, was derived from Phoenician from the near east. Almost all popular styles of music and dance in the western world, too, can be traced back to the African diaspora. But it’s not a matter of theft, it’s a matter of adaptation and evolution…it’s how just about every civilization has ever developed, European or otherwise.
Accordingly, Africa has gotten a whole lot from the west, including modern industry and medicine and communication so on, the only issue is that African countries haven’t had enough time to develop it or haven’t found the right formula for applying it. It’s not easy to build society from the ground-up, which is essentially what a lot of African nations had to do after decolonization…and in all honesty western countries have at times led them the wrong way (putting Idi Amin into power even though he knew nothing about governance, for instance). However, there are signs that this pattern is changing: Some African countries have embraced wireless communication to such an extent as to render irrelevant older infrastructural models. There yet remains a lot for Africa to do but such a task was never going to be quick or easy.
Let’s not forget that Europe’s development from about 700 onward depended greatly on borrowings from the east…the amount of vital things Europeans took from Arabs or other peoples is staggering. When a people go about building themselves up, they need to take the best ideas on offer and then they need time to figure out how to use them. Africa is not at all different from Europe or indeed America in this regard, and expecting anything else is quite unreasonable to say the least.

That’s not how these things work. First a people have to catch up, they have to master what they’ve learned…only then can they start leading the way. Africa is still working on the first part, so don’t expect the second part to happen anytime soon. Look to China, because they’re not far away from it, space program and all.
Moreover, I think you’re not being fully forthright…I don’t blame colonialism for the state of Africa, I said quite clearly that Africans learned a lot of important things from Europeans. In fact I’d go as far as to say the recent French intervention in Mali has already made a positive impact on the region, so it’s not mzungu’s fault and I never suggested as much. That said, if you think European colonialization was ever a benevolent force then I’m afraid you’re displaying no small amount of naivete. The point is that Europeans did what they did, but when all was said and done it’s up to Africans to figure out what their societies are going to look like, and even the founding fathers needed two tries to do that and then another hundred years to figure out the issue of slavery.

That’s an interesting concept. I think Freud too talked about the idea that staying celibate can channel the sexual energy into creativity.
There is also a direct correlation between high sexual energy and high creativity – the higher the sexual urge, the more creative the person is.
There are men who successfully channeled their sexual energy into creativity. Another one like Tesla was Isaac Newton; he was also mostly celibate too.

I agree, corvinus. It’s not for most men, and most men wouldn’t know how to go about it unless they had training or a lot of self-control for religious reasons, like Yaser and Newton. However, I think the high sexual urge of men is another reason that explains why men are so creative.

The only consistently “blue” counties in Texas are Travis (where Austin is) and a bunch of counties in the Rio Grande Valley (south of Texas, almost completely Hispanic and has always been).
I don’t get bothered by liberals in Austin very often, besides Obama stickers on cars. There are a lot of “quirky” looking houses and a lot of strange looking homosexuals and hipsters always around, but it kind of comes with the area. I like it here. Obviously not everyone is like this, population is booming and a lot of high-tech companies are moving in.
I don’t know where you’re from, but if you’re not from the Southwest or California, you will be completely shocked by the amount of Mexicans in Texas. Be prepared for hearing and seeing Spanish all over the damn place in some areas.

IMO, Austin is a type of “BoBo” liberal city (to use David Brooks’ silly neologism). The people here are SWPL types who voted for Obama more because it was “cool” to do so rather than because they have a clue about politics. The suburbs of Austin start to get more normal the further you move from downtown. I’ve even met some registered Republican voters from suburbs on the south side. A lot of these liberals are transplants from other “blue” cities. This town is one of those places where most people came from someplace else (including me).
The rest of TX is relatively moderate to conservative but there are some odd exceptions. For example, there is a big gay scene in Dallas, but the gay men there aren’t really “political” about a lot of stuff. There are a good number of fundamentalist types but I think they’re harmless and the vast, vast majority are nowhere near anything like David Koresh, although the mainstream media disagrees.

I’ve been considering moving to Austin for the last two years.I’m in the bay area. Visited in 2011 thought it was great overall but yes…the folk in downtown are such tryhard hipsters..gets annoying.but the cost of living is great and i thought the women were killer. Lots of em compared to San Jose ca. And the ones i chatted w were friendly. Ur thoughts? recommend the move?

I must say “yes” to recommending the move. With all the faults here, it is still better than CA in terms of cost of living and the tax bite (no state income tax here, but property taxes are high). The real estate market is still a bit overpriced imo but rents and small homes are still nothing like what you have to pay in the SF area. The state economy is great compared to CA.
In addition to the downsides I described, the biggest “downside” is that it is a very youth-centric city. A lot of people are still in college mode re: drinking. There aren’t a lot of “grown up” things to do and even the adults are stuck in this Peter-Pan “refuse to grow up” mode. Hope this helps!

I just feel like pointing out that the really only reasons for an SWPL type to vote for Obama is because it’s “cool” or “not-racist”. The Obama policies are obviously going to destroy SWPL-land just like they did in Africa and SWPLs are typically too smug and dumb to be intentionally self-destructive.

You’re so right; I heard it with my own two ears. I heard clueless stupid HW actors saying they are voting for Obama because ‘we have to prove it to the world that we’re not a racist country’. What? Is that a good enough reason to risk our futures and our lives so that other countries not think we are a racist society? Should we vote someone President based on that criterion? That’s why actors and artists need to shut the hell up and focus solely on their art, instead of speaking about imaginary things or things they don’t understand. If only the Clooneys and the Penns would shut up…….
How stupid can liberals get? It’s the same when they say we lost our respect in the world by following a certain policy, as if most of the world has our best interest at heart and therefore should dictate what type of policy we need to follow. This is the mentality in the country right now. The left makes weak-minded people feel guilty over perceived injustices and inequality. People are just stupid, period.

If you look at sex as a market then the problem isn’t that the sexual market has become more laissez faire but that there is massive government intervention, driven by feminism, to subsidise certain lifestyles for women that are otherwise unsustainable.
In this market women are the suppliers of sex and men are the consumers but women have needs also and they trade sex for the material long term support of a man, or at least they would under the normal course of events, government steped in the made all men financially responsible for the well being of all women as a collective and women owed nothing at all in return for that support.
The problem isn’t that we have a free sexual market the problem is that men have been robbed of their currency in the sexual market.
