I usually blame the victim, unless I know for sure the victim was minding his/her own business and wasn’t looking for trouble. In most rape cases though, the victim is usually partly to blame, even when the woman didn’t know her victimizer(s). Many women go looking for trouble. And in cases involving children getting hurt or killed by an assailant, I almost always blame the parents’ lack of common sense or protection – as in the case of single mothers. Single mothers are the most negligent parents. Most children who got abducted, were children raised by single mothers.
Our society doesn’t promote shaming victims, but they should be shamed for their part in their self-inflicted trouble. People should be proactive if they want to avoid becoming a victim’s statistic. Relying on laws to keep you safe or deter criminals is a false sense of security. The only way you can be safe or deter a criminal is NOT to cross his path.

Look at the “50 shades” genre – it opened many an eye – as to what women secretly desire. You should read some of Nancy Friday’s interviews with women of all walks of life. I hear this all the time from skinny girls. I’m glad you posted that. I’ve noticed it myself. It is *shocking* to see how skinny you have to get before you start to get less attention from guys. I’ve never gotten to that point of skinny myself. The more skinny I get, the more attention I get even though the same guys that hit on me will tell me that I am either too thin or that I should watch it to make sure I don’t lose more weight. The skinniest I’ve been as an adult is 18.4 BMI (but it was 94 lbs, so it’s a skinny 18.4) and that was about the most attention I got too. Would I have gotten more if I let myself get to 90 lbs? It sounds crazy, but that’s what I see happening to all the really thin girls. It shocks them and they kind of hate it too.
I knew a girl that was 5’5″ 108 lbs. She knew she was a skinny girl but she got sick for a while and got to like 103 lbs. She was telling me how baffled she was that the increased attention was so noticeable. I saw it myself with a friend who is normally 5’8″ and 115 lbs. I mean, that is damn thin to begin with, but her mother died and she got depressed and got to like 5’8″ and 105 lbs. That would be concentration camp thin on a some people, but when I would walk around with her, the amount of attention she got was astronomical. Like every other guy we walked passed in a store would hit on her. And she’d be like, “I feel so gross. I want to be like 120 lbs”. I believed her. I think she meant it despite all the attention she was getting.
I start to hate myself at about 96 lbs. I’m sorry, but I look like a famine wrought child and barely an adult human like that. But I would certainly get hit on more if I were that small. I think a lot of women on this board can get my meaning here- even though you know you will get more attention from guys, you don’t care. You do not like looking at yourself be that thin. Also, I think guys must like extra thinness due to past experience here. They probably have been in a situation where they dated a girl who started off as normal weight and then gained a few during the course of a relationship.

I was like 103-108 lbs when I was under 25. Then at 25-26 I went into the mid and low 90s. Then I went back up to over 100 from 27-30. Now I want to maintain staying in the upper 90s. I am an apple, not an hourglass, so I have to be pretty thin to look like I am hourglass. My body stops looking good at 104+.

coz it’s far worse to be a few lbs over than a few lbs under? In reality, I don’t think it hurts a woman’s prospects in the dating market at all to be underweight as long as her proportions are good. A super thin girl may lose attention from guys who really do prefer meatier girls, but they gain it back from guys who either don’t mind a super thin girl or guys who prefer girls that way (they exist and they don’t have a lot of options).
One of my friends from childhood is a runway model. Her agency lists her as 5’11” and 110 lbs. That is thin even by runway model standards. That is like ‘how are you even alive’ thin. But I see guys fawning over this girl left and right, and I’ve seen it happening for the last 12 years. I will say that she does not have some weird angular face. She has a fresh pretty face and long blond hair. That on her emaciated body does her fine.
If you are under weight, everyone feels free to comment on that since it’s not considered a point of insecurity in our society. Hence “eat a sandwich’ is a cliched comment that really does get thrown out there a lot. But generally people will not freely tell a chubby girl to lose a few because she’ll freak out and it’s a devastating statement.

I was 90 pounds. Now I weigh 120 because I just never bothered to lose the weight from pregnancy. My friends always told me that I look better with more weight on me, and they still say that. When I ask my man he just tells me he wants me to be ‘healthy’ but it’s blatantly obvious that he gives me less sexual attention now and isn’t as turned on by me as he was before. The ‘real women have curves’ is complete BS! I am actually LESS curvy now that I am fat. I think the ‘thin women don’t have curves’ only applies to flat-chested women who don’t have any breasts, and that is more genetic than weight related anyways – those women wouldn’t really have breasts even if they weighed more – they would just have fat flap bags.
Lara – I never got cellulite even after getting this fat, but I think I am genetically predisposed to it – my mother has it – but I avoid sugar like the plague and I save up meat bones in my freezer and turn them into bone broth when I have enough. Try this if you are deathly afraid of cellulite as I am! Add a few tbsp of vinegar to the broth because that sucks all of the good minerals out of the bones. Bone broth is full of collagen and other stuff that prevents cellulite. Sugar actually causes cellulite.

There’s a fine line between too skinny and skinny. Generally I don’t find fashion models attractive, and there is such a thing as too bony/skinny. I generally prefer petite girls, which is slight and skinny but with a definable curve to the hips. Best bet is to measure your waist and your hips, if your waist measurement relative to your hip measurement is 0.7 then you’re bang on the money.

If you lost 10-15 lbs., you’d feel much better. Thank goodness, you’re not grossly overweight, but make an effort to shed those 10-15 lbs. Exercising with weights to build muscle and tone your body will be ideal as you’re shedding those extra lbs so you don’t lose precious muscle mass as well.
3) I don’t think most men find fashion models all that sexually attractive. First, they are way too tall for most men to tolerate, and second their bodies are more masculinized than shorter females. They have wide shoulders and narrow hips, like men do. I don’t think most men like this type of woman. It’s more the preference of gay men. Anyway, it’s this dislike for masculinized fashion models that encourage some men to think that curvy is the feminine ideal. Curvy is better just as long as it’s not the result of fat, but the result of having the right build. Modern Primitive preference sounds like the typical male.

I’m at 130 now cause its so freakin’ cold it helps cut down on the shivering 🙂 With depression after my divorce, I had to force myself to eat and was 123 at one point. The general rule of thumb for women is that you start at 5′ even and 100 lbs. For every additional inch, you get 5 more pounds. So if you’re 5’4″ or over, chances are you aren’t “fat” per se…just not carrying the weight the same way you used to.

When I was having dating problems, I dug and dug and did not give up digging for truth and solutions until I found them. The information is out there, and if one has the endurance and keeps their ego in check, one will get it.
I know on my own flesh the combination of educational programming, situational necessity, and ultimately creation of one’s own negative reality that modern women go through. It is a kind of a filter, and well…if a woman is dumb enough to let herself get pumped and dumped, maybe that’s what needs to happen.
It is probably wiser to focus on the women you have some dominion over, rather than worry overmuch about women you don’t. The women in your family, and female associates need you to buffer them against the dangers of this world. They might not know it, but they do. The ones who accept your advice, take care of them. The rest, screw them or rather, let them get screwed.
Trying to stop people from having sex is an impossible mission when the voices drowning you out have a larger budget and following. Unless or until you get that kind of influence, focus on your corner. From my experiences helping my female friends not to screw up, it does make things feel a bit less hopeless. You get to see the results too.

Canadian, I disagree that nonviolent men should be rewarded. I believe nonviolent men should be allowed to be the third gender that they are.
This does not mean that I believe that children should be raped and the like. It means that I understand that without violent men, children will be raped because there will be nobody willing to do what it takes to stop it.
Someone needs to be violent in order to protect the nonviolent and/or vulnerable. This is part of being a man.
But you are correct that this belief is why Africans are more likely to commit violent “crimes”. We are mostly raised to understand the difference between a legally inconvenient act of violence, and an actual crime.

I thought I made it very clear that this is not what I meant. When I say “violent”, I do not make the distinction between institutional, sanctioned, convenient, unsanctioned, stupid, or any other kind of violence. I just mean violent.
Because malevolent violent people exist, there need to be benevolent violent people. Since men are generally physically stronger and more combat capable, and generally built for violence, then this needs to be channeled into something benevolent, rather than violence being viewed as somehow unnatural or “sinful”.
A smart person may fight only when needed, but they do fight. Any being living on this planet who has no fight in them will die or be brutally exploited, unless someone better at violence than whoever is attacking them, protects them.
I do not buy the modern “ideal” of nonviolence in a violent world. I do not idealize people who will not defend themselves or their loved ones as superior in any way.

It is getting very little press coverage compared to the Trayvon Martin case, which may have been just as racially motivated, but the boy was at least mobile.
Even though in some places, it’s open season on Black men, and most of us who are smart are prepared to defend ourselves and don’t trust that someone wouldn’t kill us if they had the chance to and get away with it, Trayvon’s death by false sense of security gets way more press than this baby’s death by his mom’s false sense of security because Black people have been taught that if you don’t fight for yourself, nobody will.

I hate to criticize someone who’s given Spergfinder the thrashing he deserves, but looking at worldwide statistics it’s hard to avoid the idea that blacks are more violent. They have no way of assessing whether information they receive is true or false, and not enough will to take the trouble to find out whether or not something they were taught reflects the actual reality of the situation.
So frankly, I don’t believe in anyone’s superiority as a group. I do believe that some individuals are and have been superior to the vast majority of humanity, and those are people who either become leaders and then do something constructive with that, or break away and do something constructive in that.
