As many CH readers are already acquainted, the term Cathedral was coined by a Mr. M.M. and reformatted by yours truly (and probably others) for a general audience to mean the collective motivations and enlivening spirit of the bulk of the human machinery that powers the entertainment, media, government and academia industrial complexes in the West, but particularly in America. This human machinery is mostly progressive in political disposition, equalist in ideology, tyrannical in method, snarky in execution, and hypocritical in principle.
Lately, though, a sizable contingent of readers have emailed to express their disapproval of the use of the term Cathedral as a condensed expression of the postmodern monstrosity known by Chateau proprietors as leftoidism. These incommensurately irate readers claim that the word Cathedral unfairly maligns a mostly beneficent European Christian tradition while gliding over the influence of outside forces in shaping and projecting the equalist agenda. One reader suggested that the term instead be replaced with the word “Hive”, to represent the reflexive, obedient, hive-like thinking of elite and sub-elite SWPL whites on the subject of human intellectual, psychological and sex differences, both within and between groups.
I find this argument slightly ridiculous in its insistence on adhering to a strictly dichotomous premise that either this force or that force is solely responsible for the transmission of malignant ideas and the consequent public policies. Why can’t it be both? A native decadency can exert a subversion within the culture to which they are the ostensible caretakers even more powerfully than a self-interested, self-cordoned outsider. The parasite infects most readily the already weakened host.
Having shared my time with what aggrieved readers would refer to as heirs of the honorable traditions architecturally exalted by real cathedrals, I come away with two distinct impressions, formed by face to face interaction as opposed to solitary nights neck-craned over dense history books:
1. Many of the “old Cathedral’s” children are true believers in their modern equalist drivel. When the opportunity presents, they spout it with a strident certainty and an emotional commitment that simply cannot be faked on a consistent basis.
2. Most of these same children of the old Cathedral are hypocrites in everything they do and in every way they organize their actual, living, breathing lives. They belie their own words and beliefs with such cheerful alacrity and oblivious self-contradiction that a person of saner mind might wonder how they manage the disjunct without heavy doses of cortex dulling medications.
How to square this circle? Remember the rationalization hamster, and you will find your answer. The hamster is the errand-rodent of the ego, the most powerful source of energy in the universe. The hamster spins as ruthlessly for believers in universal human biological equality (which in the present cultural milieu necessitates a belief in white male nefariousness) as it spins for girls with a reputation in mind who want their romantic surrender minus the messiness of personal agency.
It is no less incomprehensible to those who have been around the block more than a few times that an ideologically ego-invested Bryan Caplan will live in an all-white collar white bubble while clamoring for open borders than it is that a nice girl will sleep with a taciturn, tattooed bike messenger while claiming she wants a niceguy who’s sensitive to her needs and loves poetry.
The Cathedral is one of those mutli-use terms that has come to symbolize to the current Radical Realtalkers — and has in fact always symbolized more or less in colloquial usage — any social or political superstructure advancing a school of ideas, especially ideas anathema to the general welfare of those and their posterity who are without a voice or a lever of power. Thus, I find no problem employing it.
However, the Hive neologism works as well. Many equalists are quite stupid and unaware; marching morons blaring a tired, tinny tune because it feels good, and people pat them on the back for their embrace of willful stupidity. Good worker bees, they buzz and buzz while the queen grows strong on the relentless toil of her drone army. A Hivemind you could call this. The Hivemind does not know logic unless its deployment advantages them, does not care for inconvenient facts, does not countenance empathy for those outside the hive. All the Hivemind knows is wagon-circling; the hive (i.e., the ego) must be protected against any and all attacks, and it will snark and sting (c.f. Richwine) in unison, on command, and won’t stop until the telepathic, telecommunications network that propels the Hivemind is severed at multiple points and various neuronal substations are taken offline.
The Hivemind and the Cathedral work together synergistically. Right now the Hivemind is at the apex of its power. Like an alien borg, it operates at the behest of a central master brain, aka the ruling globalist and message-maker elite. The Hivemind guards the perimeter, assimilates the weak-minded assimilable, drives out the free thinking. You do not defeat the Cathedral by attacking its Hivemind hordes. All that will do is summon more replacements, which are for practical purposes, infinite in number. The master brain — the root of it all — must be attacked directly, and then the Hivemind will fall apart like unattended drones powering down.
That is how you destroy the lords of lies who perch in their gated, honey-dripped throne rooms. Don’t hack blindly at their winged servants, futilely dodging stingers and forced into defensive maneuverings. Drive the tip of your spear, straight and true, into the meat of the hive, through the colony of mental eunuchs buzzing their labyrinthine sophistry, until you hit the beating Heart of Lies. Then, drive it it further to deliver the mortal thrust.
You should further elaborate on how best to accomplish this mortal thrust (beyond, of course… mortally thrusting ones junk into any and all slutty holes).

“Leviathan” has an excellent scholarly pedigree, implies size, Old Testament wrath, and the superstate through Hobbes. A strange name for the philosopher to choose in his promotion of the liberal ideal, come to think of it.
I’d look into Hobbes’s etymology, but tedious research is the reason I left grad school. Time to summon the Behemoth’s brother up from the briny deep.
Let that day be darkness!
May God above not seek it,
Nor light shine upon it.
Let gloom and deep darkness claim it.
Let clouds dwell upon it;
Let the blackness of the day terrify it.
That night — let thick darkness seize it!
Let it not rejoice among the days of the year,
Let it not come into the number of the months.
Yea, let that night be barren;
Let no joyful cry be heard in it.
Let those curse it who curse the day,
Who are skilled to rouse up Levi’athan.

It’s more accurate actually. I generally get along well with everyone and truly wish no one ill. I am, however, a truth seeker, and much has been censored by ommission. When you consider the level of YKW influence in most of the nation’s information centers, if becomes obvious why so much is censored by ommission. People need to know that they’re being gamed. I find YKW are terrified of certain truths becoming known and work hard to prevent it like their obvious control of the media or the huge proportion of committed, practicing Communists that are members of the Tribe and work hard to undermine our social order for their benefit. But its also YKW allied with traditional WASP money as well. So the picture is more complex than meets the eye. It’s certainly an elite that is substitute nobility and seeks to create a permanent servant class out of the vast majority.

All they do is refuse to publish the bulk of “dark enlightenment” views on mainstream media sources. This isn’t really a hard fight to at least try and fight.
I’ve been reading Jezebel lately. It’s a site that I have quickly come to rather adore and enjoy. It seems SWPLs don’t really argue with anything HBD related or anti-post modern. They simply avoid thinking about and they avoid looking at information which can tear down their views.
You just have to try harder to force SWPLs to actually look at information that contradicts their views. Then you have to effectively take down their arguments and rationalizations that they will inevitably turn to when they face conflicting information.

“Cathedral” is much better because of the insidiousness of hijacking religion. They get warm and fuzzy when they consume God and divinity with ‘equality’ and ‘fairness’ . better to see a drone believe in diversity than in sanctity.

Any one that has embraced non-Biblical principles such as homosexuality, feminism, and other liberal nonsense will pay. Being Juish doesn’t afford one protection from doing God’s word. That said, non-Jus who attack God’s chosen people will also pay, as they have paid throughout history. God chose the Jus to get the Torah since they accepted it without question when he offered it to them, while the rest of the nations wanted nothing to do with it. So you need to be super careful Gregi before you attack his chosen people. Can’t you see the west is in decline? That is one of God’s punishments, and he will not abate until all of it is destroyed. It’s happening before our eyes. So if I were you, I’d leave his chosen tribe to him. He’ll punish them accordingly when they sin, as he will your tribe too. We are living in very difficult transitional times, and everyone is going to pay before it’s all over.

Tyrone,
You’re missing the pint. We know Egypt, Ur, Assyria, Medea, Persia, Athens, Sparta, Corinth, Troy were very smart. But we’re not discussing their IQ; we’re discussing their spirituality. They were not spiritual and didn’t believe in one creator. They had many gods they worshiped, which were represented by idols to which they bowed and sacrificed. The idea of monotheism is a purely a Juish idea , and the idea of a moral code is purely a Juish idea, and the idea of a religious text in which God’s law is written very much like a law book is written today is a purely Juish idea too. No one before the Jus did something like that. In fact, it was so good and such a good idea, that many nations were jealous of it and subsequently copied it in much later centuries, such as the Christians and the Muslims with their own spinoffs.
As for these civilizations preceding the Hebrews, some preceded, some were concurrent, and some came after. Some indeed subjugated the Jus. No question about it , but it was also predicted centuries before as a punishment if they will not follow God’s law. Despite it all, the Jus still remain with us today, while the civilizations you mentioned have ceased to exist long ago, which you conveniently overlook. This means that for all of their aggressive strength, bravado, and supposed wisdom they are nothing and mean nothing, while the Jus still influence the world with their religious and moral philosophies, and contributions in many fields. and, it was all predicted in the OT when God spoke to the Jus and warned them. He said he will scatter them among the nations if they don’t follow his laws, but he will never destroy them completely. it’s a promise he made Abraham, and it still holds today.
“My complaint about the Js is their love affair with Communism and their propensity to be its leading proponent through lies and deceit.”
Liberal Jus are no different from all the non-Jus that push for communism. Liberalism is very much part of western thinking, and has crept in since the Renaissance began. That’s why it’s called Renaissance, because it was a rebirth and a shedding of the church’s stronghold on thought and development of humanity. Liberalism strengthened even more during the Enlightenment. That’s why it’s called enlightenment, because humanity was being enlightened by reason and science. Thus, if you want to blame anyone for liberalism, blame the church. Liberalism was a strong antibiotic response to the catholic church’s dictatorial rule in Europe. People of philosophical thought, science, and ideas rebelled against the church. People like Galileo, Voltaire, Rousseau, Kant, and many others. In fact much of Marx’s socialist theories are based on Rousseau and Kant – both nonJus. So you can’t blame solely the Jus. It’s a western issue, and in order to solve it you need to look at yourself and figure out what is it with the west that created liberalism. It’s not just one thing; it’s many different ingredients, related as they are, that cooked this dish.
Now put a sock in it, or go back to reading white supremacy blogs because they make you so much smarter after you read them lol.

“So you’re saying Jesus was an antisemite who had better watch His step because He dared talk bad about “Da Ju”?”
Jesus didn’t speak against the Jus as it’s written in the NT. You can’t trust much of it because first it’s not the literal word of God, and second because the church had an agenda when they related all of Jesus’ sermons. The church wanted to make sure the early Christians separated from their Juish brothers lest they go back to being Juish, so they demonized the Jus. Christianity was in completion with Juism, therefore the NT is hardly an objective source. In contrast, the OT didn’t say anything about Christians since they didn’t exist yet. All it has there is a warning to the Hebrews not to follow other gods, or adopt other nation’s habits and philosophies calling them abominations.
“Your kind would have done better to accept Jesus when they had the chance, rather than pound your chest about the Torah.”
You know why the Jus can’t accept him? Because he’s flesh and blood, and not God. Jus adhere to the 10 Commandments, that if your ilk had half a brain you’d understand why you’re sinning and God will not forgive. You have replaced the Creator of the Universe with Jesus. It s a hilarious misunderstanding on your part and let’s hope God will forgive.
Here it is:
Commandment #1 :
“I am the Lord thy God” and repeated in Deuteronomy 5:6. “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.”
• This is God first establishing his authority on us and his word is law.
Commandments #2 :
“Thou shalt have no other gods before me”
• I trust this is self-explanatory.
Commandment #3 :
“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image” and repeated in Deuteronomy 5:8-10 ‘You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them; for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.”
• God’s explicitly forbids adopting any other gods. That’s why the Jus can’t accept Jesus. Juism is strict monotheism, unlike Christianity. God means God, not flesh and blood.
“And for the record, I’m not aware that said Torah was offered to any other nation… is that (yet another) Juish fable masquerading as true Scripture?”
It’s in the Oral Law, going all the way back to Moses. This happened 3400 years ago. God offered it to everyone but no one wanted it, opting to continue with their immoral depravity, except the Jus. No nation wanted to bother with God or his strict Commandments, much like today. Too restrictive for society, they say. Nothing has changed. Even the Jus don’t want it anymore.

In the civil law countries such as Germany, France, etc., yes, Roman law is the predecessor.
The Common law countries (the English speaking world) are based on Biblical principles, as well as on freedoms of speech and religion which goe back to John Locke’s concept of natural rights given to each of us by the Creator. Our government is based on these concepts.
“[Lock] defended the natural law tradition whose glorious lineage goes back to the ancient Jews: the tradition that rulers cannot legitimately do anything they want, because there are moral laws applying to everyone.”

Rather, the idol worshiping Europeans copied the Hebrews’ monotheism and added their Greek and Roman pagan traditions to it to came up with Christianity. Today, some Christians realizing the pagan nature of Christianity have outlawed many early Christian traditions calling them pagan, such as the Christmas tree and Halloween. Some even go as far as not calling Jesus God or son of God, as they realize a human being can’t be God. Many refer to him as only the messiah.

Temple is tactically weaker, and not only because its more likely to alienate elite Jews. Cathedral imparts a sense of mighty structure, and also underscores the theme that PC is the post-Christian religion of the modern West, which is probably the rhetorically strongest of our positions. Cathedral positions us as anti-religious, anti-dogmatic, and culturally dissident, which are about the only values we may share with the SWPL self-conception.
Hive mind works too, I guess, but its neither as specific nor as powerful an image; it just suggests stupid drone. The incredible fact is that these guys see themselves as the ultimate individualists and free thinkers. The “hive mind” hypothesis is a brutal pill for such an ego to swallow. I actually see plenty of parallels between what CH refers to as the “Cathedral” and the actual cathedrals of Christian European tradition. Both are comprised of people hungry to maintain peer acceptance treating absurd, anti-science notions as indisputable fact and knee-jerk attacking anyone who dares question them.
The analogy is especially perfect in that modern SWPLs feel such an air of superiority over religious institutions, making it extra sweet to remind them how truly similar they are.

Leftist messianism is a religion for sure, which would make “Cathedral” seem appropriate if cathedrals were not also the greatest, most beautiful works of architecture ever achieved my man and the sanctuary for the greatest works of art ever made my man. You cannot refashion these achievements into ugliness; you merely dignify the enemy by an association with them.
Adopt the spirit of Alinsky: do not concede an inch in the name war, call your enemies after the most vile and viscerally inciting terms you can think of, allow nothing positive to come from the nominal scheme until they have to embrace the term for its ubiquity and appropriate it like blacks and sodomites had to do with “n i g g e r” and “queer.”
The enemy is comprised of tyrannical, totalitarian haters of life. They are epicene and cowardly. Champions of deviancy. Clever but ultimately stupid, useless busy-workers. SWPL, neck-bearded hipsters, cringing pussies, faggots. Forfeiters of manliness. Pseudointellectual Eloi. Eunuchs. Sexual quislings. Subverters. Parasites. Misanthropes. Nietzsche’s “Last Men.”
Hives are noble and efficient. They work and produce as an organic whole. Hives are the opposite of the lifeless bureaucratic super-artifice the left dreams about, where vitality goes to die. “If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face — forever” (Orwell).
Finally, take seriously the name of what you represent. Make it solid, not reactive, not “anti-” anything. “Dark Enlightenment,” besides being a cutesy, literal paradox on its face, is too focused on the enemy it is trying to eradicate rather than the kind of positive philosophy it is attempting to make real. Do not allow your identity to be defined by them or with their terms.

Well, I’m also not excited about this usage of the word Cathedral; but I’m surprised no one has previously pointed out the Latin and Greek roots of the word “Cathedra”.
“Cathedra” meaning seat or bench; that is, the throne of power where the Lord and Master sat to rule. Eventually, usage of the word came to symbolize the great church where the “Lord Bishop” had his “Seat of Power”.

A true insult should first of all be accurate, nothing insults like the truth, and secondly demeaning and demoralizing, by using the truth to diminish and belittle in a funny and accurate way the enemy.
An insult should encapsulate contempt. Indeed it should drip contempt.
Cathedral is not accurate, those who worked on the Cathedral created beautiful objects of art, out of devotion to a land, place, people, and religion that is incomprehensible to the modern world.
Besides it is confusing, too many people will think of Eric S. Raymond’s “The Cathedral and the Bazaar,” and figure you are referring to commercial source software (the Cathedral).
I would nominate Puritans as the insult. It encapsulates the truth: group think, witch hunts, joylessness, grasping materialism, an elite believing itself to be saved by divine redemption (while all others are damned), weirdness and weird names (Increase, Chastity, Prudence = Messiah, Moon, Ocean), and drink-the-kool-aide madness. Jonestown is another good insult, as that speaks to the utopian suicide that encapsulates these people. But I like Puritans. It is also accurate, the old Puritan stock is still around is basically these elites, and their cultural ideas are merely the dour Scandinavian Christianity of a thinly Christianized Pagan Cult death-obsession.
There are many different strains of Christianity. The Catholic Church has a major problems with gays being 99.999999999% of Priests, and thus being weird deviants in love with deviancy, but the Catholic approach to life and heritage is far different than Scandis. And Baptist Protestantism with emphasis on extreme individualism and charismatic testimony is far different than the dour “meeting and a lecture” of spartan, spare Puritan style meeting halls and the modern equivalent of watching an Al Gore Global Warming powerpoint dressed up as a movie.

Do you know many grown men that can abstain from sex? No such thing; it’s unnatural. Men love sex. Isn’t it the subject of this website? You need to face the fact that not having sex is an unnatural human behavior. So the catholic church should not expect men to be unnatural or risk deviancy, as in child molestation. Therefore, it should allow priests to marry.
That said, I don’t like insulting the catholic church. However, you seem very touchy when it gets insulted, even when it’s deserved in connection with gay priests, who also spread liberalism. “What, you don’t think people can dedicate their lives to God and keep their dicks in their pants?”
No. Impossible. God created us with a strong sexual impulse that needs an outlet throughout our lives. Can you really expect a man not to have sex for 70 or 80 years? C’mon it’s unnatural. And God doesn’t want it either. Instead, he wants us to control our sexual behavior so that not every impulse of sex is acted upon, such as not to engage in homosexuality, bestiality, and incest, or sex outside of marriage. Otherwise, attempting to abstain from all sex can lead to a sin. Other than not engaging in the forbidden sexual acts I mentioned above, nowhere does it say not to have sex, and even sex outside of marriage isn’t considered a big sin like the other 3.
The misconception about God’s will was created by the early church not having the true wisdom found in the Old Testament where God’s will is plainly declared repeatedly. The early church wanted to stand as its own separate religion, so it mandated this stupid rule among others. It has nothing to do with what God really expects of his priests.
In fact, think about the holly Jouish priests in the Old Testament. They could enter the Holly of Hollies only if they were pure physically and spiritually. If they lacked purity, they could be killed instantly upon entry. Physical purity meant they had to wash their bodies well before entry. One of the things that makes a man pure spiritually is marriage. All the High Priest in Jerusalem had to be married or they cannot serve God. An un-married man was not allowed to do God’s work because he might engage in unnatural thoughts and have unnatural proclivities that lead to sin and make him spiritually soiled. Homosexuality is one of those acts that renders a man spiritually soiled. In fact, if the High Priest’s wife died, a new wife was brought to him immediately (a virgin, as she also had to be pure), lets he didn’t have a sexual outlet and engaged in unnatural behaviors.
Too bad the Church fathers didn’t pay attention to God’s rules in the Old Testament regarding how he wants his priests to be. God knows human nature better than church fathers, that’s why he didn’t ask for the impossible. It’s a good thing the protestants abolished the ban on marriage and allow their pastors to marry. To add more insult to injury, it’s liberal and gay priests that are pushing for gay marriage within the church. They have a very big influence on the rest of the population, and if gay marriage is sanctioned we have them to thank.

That just shows your complete ignorance about the Catholic Church and its history. Protestantism was the first step to the mess we’re in today. One of the foundations of Protestantism is justification through faith alone, and that good works — such as giving up the right to marriage for the service of God, and fighting against sexual temptation — doesn’t do a thing for your soul. Catholics, OTOH, saw it as earning treasure in heaven. Big treasure, given how hard it is.

You are rather ignorant of the early Christian church. Celibacy wasn’t mandated until the 12th century. Even afterwards, many priests remained married. Prior to that it was seen as an ideal and more of a holdover from the early days of Christianity when renunciation of all elements of the flesh was a popular way to imitate Christ. This only means the Roman Catholic church. The Orthodox Church, which has the oldest and most faithful liturgy to the early days of the Church, never implemented celibacy. In modern times, the Roman Catholic church has always tolerated priests having unofficial wives, usually in the form of housekeepers. The priest who baptized me had a lady in town he went to go visit on a regular basis. Everybody knew about it and nobody really cared.

That may be true for priests, but bishops were always celibate, including in the Eastern Orthodox Church, and married priests could never remarry once their wife died. And in many other cases, married priests were forbidden from having conjugal relations with their wives.
Also, you completely leave out the monastic orders, monks and nuns, who were also all celibate.

“The priest who baptized me had a lady in town he went to go visit on a regular basis. Everybody knew about it and nobody really cared.”
And you think such a behavior is befitting a servant of God? Is it something to be proud off? If he was allowed to marry like every man should be, he wouldn’t need to sneak around like a criminal or a sinner and have sex out of marriage which is considered a sin in Catholicism. At least he isn’t molesting little boys, but still…. why put people in such situations and entrap them into sin?
“you are rather ignorant of the early Christian church. Celibacy wasn’t mandated until the 12th century.”
Which is even stronger evidence that it’s not a law given by God, rather a church edict based on a lack of understating human nature.
People need to be close to God, not have a middle man in the form of the church telling them what to do, or that they have to go through a priest in order to reach God. All these rules the church makes is for its own benefit. I suspect priests remaining celibate is in the interest of the finances of the church.
It’s laughable that some within the church are pushing for gay marriage, but not for priests marrying. The liberal priests and nuns within the church are influencing it and making it into another arm of the left, like most other religious institutions in the west.

Not initially. Monasteries and convents originally started out as a sort of retirement home for well to do Christians. Celibacy was always an ideal there because it was seen as a way of purifying the body in preparation for heaven. It was also easier for people at the ends of their lives to be celibate. Still, they were more like religious communities than places of severity. It was only under the Benedictine reforms that you had the form of monastery that we think of today. Celibacy and denial of the flesh were always seen as a means of purifying one’s self for Heaven. Look at the Pole Sitter phenomenon for instance. Early Christians tended to idealize suffering for God.

Before the sexual revolution warped your bourgeois brain and made you think we all were born to be pornstars — rutting animals rubbing their pathetic peens against any friction that would have them — deliberate abstinence and female virginity was admired as a superior way of life. “Before the sexual revolution warped your bourgeois brain and made you think we all were born to be pornstars …..deliberate abstinence and female virginity was admired as a superior way of life.”
True. But, 1) female sexuality is not on the same level of male sexuality. Females can remain virgins their whole lives, but not males. Granted, it’s also tough for women, but not as impossible as it is for men. 99.99999% of males can’t abstain from sex, and if they were forced to, will find other outlets to get their needs met like doing it with men or boys, such as happens in prison or the church.
2) That’s the reason why in very religious communities people get married early – precisely so that they don’t stray as singles and have to deal with temptations, which often happens when you want sex and don’t have regular access to it. You never see in very religious communities men in their 30s unmarried. It’s highly frowned upon because it’s understood that such a man will be tempted to sin sexually. That’s why they make him hurry up and get married no later than age 22, usually to a 18-20 year old girl. There is wisdom there. Expecting priests to remain celibate their entire lives is very unrealistic, and can lead to horrible sins like homosexuality and child molestation.

I see many readers misusing the term “The Cathedral”. Here is a good video on what it means:
I think much of the aesthetic objection to the term is surface level. In general it shouldn’t be used by people who haven’t read Moldbug or at least a passable summary of him, since they only bastardize the term.

You’ll never, ever understand biological egalitarianism and its mad application to politics by contemporary feminist and leftist groups if you don’t understand that these people are puppets, literally.
You won’t understand why so many people blindly follow one crazy ideology or another if you aren’t aware of the ancient system of remote mind control that is responsible for these hive mind phenomena as well as our experiences with “God”, “Satan”, “demons” (possession), mass hallucinations like UFO encounters, and paranormal phenomena in general.
You won’t understand why some people fail to apply the Heartiste methods when dealing with women and why some people succeed so easily.
The problem is … we are underlings. The leftists are the sickest, sorriest puppets of all time, but it’s not their fault and there are no arguments that can be used to wake them up, just as there are no arguments that can be used to change the minds of any other group of mind controlled zombies, and that includes you too. Unless it’s meant to happen, of course. But since this is the age of multicult, division on all levels, systemic sickness and corruption, chaos in general, and pathetically tiny opposition to all that, it’s not going to.

The fact that “many” people are e-mailing you to drop the term IMO indicates a reason to keep using it.
I’m a Christian but “The Cathedral” is an apt description; it’s a Christian heresy, and anyone who knows where Moldbug got the roots of the concept it describes knows there’s a lot more documentation of the phenomenon, which is the Progressive revivalization of the old “Throne and Altar,” with themselves (Progressive intellectuals &tc) acting as the “Intellectual Bodyguard of the State” (but also determinators of policy and castigators when it strays from purity).
I like terms like “Hive” and so on, but only a term like “The Cathedral” highlights the essentially religions character of what is trying to pass itself off as a purely secular & rational-scientific phenomenon.
It’s really a Ecumenical Postmillenialism with God deleted.

“No one can show me a civilization which improved its situation by killing its Jews; ”
No civilization has ever tried killing all of them.
“nor any kingdom which didn’t eventually decide to un-expel its Jews. ”
Because they were never expelled very far, and had nowhere else to go on the Eurasian landmass, being traders or crooks: eventually, just by hanging around in neighboring provinces, new rulers would let them back in.
“Hitler spent an INCREDIBLE amount of taxpayer’s money & soldier’s blood to kill every Jew he could get his hand on”
Wrong: that was to conquer Russia. Two logical difficulties arise from your melodramatic speechifying: 1) that Jews, not Russians, would have had to kill all those Germans, or 2) the Soviet was acting solely in defense of Jews within its territory.
None of this – that “Hitler” spent money and German blood to kill Jews, rather than Russians; or the hypothetical sequentiae – has any basis in reality.
“his Reich lasted only a fraction as long as Tel Aviv has been a chartered city.”
This might well happen when a landlocked nation of 80,000,000 takes on three world powers at once, with a combined population of just over 1,000,000,000.

This human machinery is mostly progressive in political disposition, equalist in ideology, tyrannical in method, snarky in execution, and hypocritical in principle.”

I am amenable to “The Hive,” and “Leviathian” is excellent as well.
I strongly recommend getting rid of “The Cathedral.” It is a misdirect from the true culprits who foisted Cultural Marxism on the world (especially the Frankfurt School, who were most assuredly not Christian, but rather, of another faith).
Furthermore, I myself am not Christian, so I find the “Cathedral” nomenclature appalling not because I object to its attack on Christianity (though that is problematic, given, again, that Christianity is only part of the reason why we have a Leftoid hegemony today, and certainly not the greatest part), but because it is attack on one of the greatest expressions of Western art: the magnificent cathedrals of Europe.
You can be the most die-hard pagan, a follower of Wotan and STILL be in awe of the Sublime power of the Cologne Cathedral, or Salisbury Cathedral, or Lincoln Minster, etc. These are among the noblest expressions of the warrior spirit of European Man; even grander, owing to their matchless intricacy of detail, than the Pyramids of Egypt; the works by which the North finally matched and arguably surpassed the greatness of Rome.
They are the architectural equivalent of the symphonies of Beethoven or the dramas of Shakespeare.
To associate them in ANY way with the worm-like, slave-morality, resentment-driven mindset of the Leftoids is a slander on their greatness, and it also unjustly ennobles our enemies — who don’t deserve so majestic a term for their grubbiness.
Just about any term for Cultural Marxism and its control over Western culture is better than “the Cathedral.” It’s intellectually imprecise, being a complete misdirect, and it’s an aesthetic affront to the greatness that European Man once created.

Calling our enemies “The Cathedral” is spitting on our own heritage — and in fact, on one of the very best expressions of our heritage.
Even if Christianity dies out, Whites will still be able to look upon the awesome cathedrals of the Western world and be inspired and say, “We built that; that’s the kind of greatness that we once erected.”
Calling Leftism “The Synagogue,” given the origins of cultural marxism, would be much more accurate.
And the progressives surely love the fact that we refer to them as something they hate. From Wikipedia:
“On December 5, 1931, by order of Stalin’s minister Kaganovich, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior [in Moscow] was dynamited and reduced to rubble.”
Leftoids destroy cathedrals. Traditionalists build them (or, in the case of the Moscow example, REbuild them, once the Leftists fall from power). We don’t slander them.
Remember: the Leftists have an architecture of their own: soulless Brutalism and the “International Style,” which results in those cold, steel-and-glass, concrete monstrosities that infect our cities, their bleak minimalism a perfect expression for the deadening ugliness of Leftoid thought.
THAT is the architectural symbol of Leftism: something soulless and meaningless, not something as beautiful and noble as a cathedral. It’s way, WAY too good for them.

Wrong. Religious Juz (who are not Marxists ) call their house of worship the synagogue. They hate the reform and liberal Juz just as much. Reform and liberal Juz never call their house of worship synagogue. They call it temple. Both cathedral and temple are correct since they both house idol worship. But not a synagogue.

In fact, I’d go a step further and say that the framing should not be “The Cathedral and The Hivemind,” but “The Cathedral versus The Hivemind.”
I.e., our enemies are well described by the term “Hivemind,” but we, we radical traditionalists and reactionaries, we are the ones who should proudly adopt the term, “The Cathedral” to refer to ourselves and our dissident actions.
After all, the great cathedrals incarnate exactly what we have that the Leftists don’t: We have a rich, noble culture, stretching back centuries, of which the great cathedrals are among the mightiest expressions. The Leftists have nothing to match this.
Any time the Leftists get uppity, we can throw the Sublime power of the great cathedrals in their face and ask, “What do you have, to compare to this?”
A great cathedral is perfect, single expressions of the totality of Western culture. As the Gesamtkunstwerk of the Middle Ages, a towering cathedral comprises architecture, sculpture, painting, music (the mighty organs) and even literature.
And even today, whether we be pagans, atheists, or traditional Christians, Teutons or Slavs, Celts or Gauls, we can all take pride in our mutual built heritage — our White heritage — of which the great cathedrals are among the highest manifestations.
No wonder the Leftists demolish cathedrals. They’re scared of them. They resent them, because they know in their heart of hearts that those powerful and beautiful edifices shame them. They fear that in looking upon the great cathedrals, the White peoples will remember their nobler roots and take pride in them and reassert their strength.
In World War II, the Cologne Cathedral took 70 hits from Allied bombs and didn’t go down, even as the rest of the city was reduced to rubble. That, to me, is the perfect expression of the resiliency of white Western culture, assaulted on every side by the forces of the Hivemind, but with a mighty inner core that cannot be destroyed, and will still remain standing when all the Stalins and SPLCs have spent their load and vanished off the face of the earth.

In the 20th century, Antonio Gramsci (1891–1937) developed the philosophy and the sociology of geopolitical hegemony into the theory of Cultural Hegemony, whereby one social class can manipulate the system of values and mores of a society.

A cathedral is a symbol for heavenly aspiration and is probably not appropriate, even though it did become associated with the secret-handshake brigade and their buggery through the ages.
“Hive” is perfect – not least because the women in a hive do all the (make-)work and the 5-10% which is (alpha-)male does the shagging and the choosing of queens.
Reminds me a bit of that internet bumper sticker that went around a while ago where that red indian chief said something like, “we used to go hunting and fishing and napping every day while the women did all the work. Then at night we would shag. Then white men came along.”
By the way, this speaks to something that nobopdy has picked on and yet is glaringly obvious and rather important. The economy is fake, and is composed of nothing but make-work. “The economy” IS the hamster, writ large. Meaningless lists and figures, monuments to confusion and emptiness. It stands to reason then that women should be doing “the work” within it, all of it. Men are not supposed to work, not like that, in cubicle hell. If you’re talking industrialisation, or the “knowledge(less) economy”, you’re talking women’s work.
Comes closer too to explaining why the enigmatic drifter gets the pussy and the career man gets torn apart for sport by Diana and the Furies for being eunuch-lite. Or worse, ignored. That’s the lot of men who have volunteered to be fake women.
Look up the Corybantes, an old Roman cult who style themselves on the beehive and who may have influenced world events a lot more than most realise…

The Frankfurt School is important in the direction The Cathedral took and its contribution to the modern Cultural-focused wave. I used to concentrate very much on the havoc the Frankfurt School caused, and it is not insignificant. Understanding it is important.
But the phenomenon the concept of The Cathedral predates it: there’s a *reason* why every two-bit Marxoid academic refugee got a prestigious, fully-funded position at respectable Universities the moment they arrived, while people like Mises & Hayek were barely tolerated and their salaries had to be paid by marginal, penny-anti free market foundations.
This is because the basic structure was already fully in place when the Frankfurt School arrived to become part of it; Walter Lippmann described its operations (while he was a Progressive Social Democrat) in “Public Opinion” (1922) (a tract Chomsky likes to refer to, without ever telling his audience of ignoratii that it was written by, well, a guy who was part of the same Movement Chomsky himself is, as a manual for advancing their cause; – a manual Chomsky himself has followed throughout his career as an “Activist for Social Justice.”
People need to know more also about the Fosdick Brothers (and their appointment to prominence by J.D.R.) and the like. Greater familiarity with the whole Social Justice movement’s roots in the Social Gospel might dispel some of the more inapt beliefs some people have about the origins of all of this. (To say something is a Christian heresy is not to tar all Christians, for example).
P.S. I feel the need to point out that the anti-semites are worse than useless, even to themselves, even on their own terms. They have no understanding and, what is worse, no desire to seek understanding. To the extent to which they are successful in convincing others, they are a millstone around any counter to the phenomenon that is desiccating Western Civilization. Even Anders Behring Breivik was sharper than the anti-semites.

Heyyy… what’s with the hate for my boy Sulla? He was an optimate who cleaned up the Gracchi populares mess (the age parallel with ours today) and abdicated peacefully.
I’m not the foremost expert in late republic history, but Sulla always struck me as a good egg. Commanding, effective, conservative, and principled. A master of war and peace. On the other hand, his forcefulness paved the way for the consolidations of Caesar, despite his intentions.
Or are you praying for a Sulla, in the manner of Revelation’s imperative, the last sentence of the Bible (22:20)? It’s not clear whether you are citing Sulla as a threat or as a hope.
In the event you see Sulla as a hope, is it wise to call for the man who will unintentionally facilitate tyranny in the name of republican reform? I don’t think “peacefully by democratic means” is an option, but a republican optimate renaissance is. We don’t have to choose between demagoguery and dictatorship. I draw my sword alongside the Catos.

It is one of the finest, most inspiring speeches I can think of. Short and sweet but full of substance. Sometimes I pray for a Sulla too, as long as I can stay off his list of proscripted individuals. I plan on naming one of my future sons Lucius Cornelius if that’s any help. Sure, like you can find a woman that will give you a dozen sons/disciples, and who will let you name them ancient Roman names so they could be the laughing stock of their community. Maybe you can find one deep in the Amazon; she wouldn’t know any better or have any commonsense.
And, naming your kids with ancient Roman pagan names is equal to idolatry, as most of these men were idolatrous. I guess, for all of your religious and pious speak you didn’t notice.
Anyway, aren’t you running out of time if you’re planning on having a dozen sons? You better get started finding a wife since you don’t want to have them in your 60s if you want to be around to raise them. And you also have to consider that you might have girls in between which means you need many years before you actually get a dozen sons to pop out of your wife’s pussy. This sounds more like wishful thinking than anything realistic. But being rational isn’t your strong suit, is it?

But calling them “The Synagogue,” that‘s what would give “offense,” that’s what would show a refusal to “dilute vitriol” — assuming that’s even such an important goal in the first place.
Precise, effective, trenchant communication is the best tactic. “Cathedral” fails at even that basic level.

Exactly. This enemy shaming technique is all for naught if we don’t establish a positive, non-reactive mission. “Anti-” anything movements are destined to flame out quickly. If they are successful, they destroy the very fuel that sustains them!
A Constitution Party must be inaugurated and set apart on the right, seeing as the GOP has allowed the honorable term “republican” to be defined as “compliant passive enabler of the hyperstate.” There is nothing in the modern world that a strict construction approach to that most successful, oldest continuous governing document cannot handle.
A serious drive to repeal the 14th amendment — in favor of reviving the 9th and 10th — is a cause worth organizing around, with “Plead the Tenth” our rallying cry.
The Republicans began as a small one-issue anti-slavery party that rose to dominance all at once when the standard opposition lost its viability. That can easily occur in today’s electorate, since the 75% supermajority is being taken for granted if not flat ignored (!) when it’s not being outright vilified. What if a fraction of a fraction of whites stopped accepting the party line that they are villains and devils and should be ashamed for pursuing their interests?
All a giant must do is shift slightly his sleep to cause an earthquake. But SWPL represent whites in general. That perverse arrangement can be reversed in a flash, in a single incident, like a bank panic. The rot is not so deep as it appears, not so fundamental as the enemy wants us to think. Our skeleton has good bones — the best bones in human history; the flesh that hangs on them are just a bit diseased and flabby of late.

Very interesting article. Important too, because sloppy use of words means sloppy thinking.
Comparing progressivism to Christianity is sloppy thinking. One example is the comment about Caplan being a hypocrite. But, there can be no hypocrisy if there is no dogma. Prog modernism has no founding event or body of thought. Its adversaries are projecting their own reasoning onto unreason. Caplan isn’t a hypocrite because nowhere does it say everybody is supposed to live in integrated neighborhoods. Where does it say that? That’s just a tactic to demoralize whites who lack confidence in themselves and their culture.
