Comment Of The Week: Look On Your Works, Ye Elders, And Despair

November 15, 2013 by CH

everybodyhatesscott machine gunned,

The millennials turned out exactly how’d you’d expect a generation raised by the most selfish generation in history to turn out.

Cocooning, pathologically selfish, vapid, entitled, attention whoring, phony, emotionally stunted, socially maladjusted androgynes. There is your Millennial Generation. God help America.

***

Runner-up COTW winner is ho (a handle so simple, yet so demanding of your attention), responding to a representative for the Obamacare ad campaign claiming people are hating on the ads because MISOGYNY,

“People tend to get upset when women are portrayed as independent.”

If you need other people’s money to get birth control, YOU ARE NOT INDEPENDENT.

Stupid fucking cunt.

That last line may seem overkill, but no, really, it was necessary. Brazen stupidity in service of transparently selfish ends is not to be tolerated with even the slightest veneer of polite disagreement. Hammer blows to the head only. Preferably clawed side first.

It’s uncomfortable to ponder such things as catastrophies and societal resets, and you’re correct that pompousity can bleed into pronouncements of impending change. People who make such predictions may very well relish the chaos and confusion among the ‘unbelievers’ that will ensue. However, as people who put a lot of effort into attempting to read the signs, they may also be attempting to give due warning to people who’d otherwise be unaware. You’re correct in that it’s very difficult to get renowned ‘experts’ to chime in on this or affirm it, but the reality is that nobody knows for sure what’s happening. There are so many prophecies regarding the ‘end of days’ from so many figures in history, that it has become an “inconvenient truth” that some don’t want to overlook. Even the renowned experts of the scientific world are predicting calamitous events ahead in the form of climatic changes, etc, etc. The media is full of them. I personally think that anyone who wants to know what will happen in the future, and the significance of this moment in history, should read the books and lectures of Mr Li Hongzhi, which are available at http://en.falundafa.org/falun-dafa-books.html

All the better for our contrast. Give me a thousand men and we will flip it back in a generation. It has never been about the preponderance of numbers, but sheer testicular fortitude from those who have “lives, fortunes, and sacred honor” to give. Besides, “one man with courage makes a majority.” Despair is for women.

It’s literally true that the world steps aside for a man who knows where he’s going. Walk with purpose and the expectation that people are going to get out of your way, and they part like the Red Sea. I figured this out all the way back in high school.

Dominating a herd of people is easy. Would that it were so easy to dominate the individual pretty girl. I suppose it is, in principle, but thus far not in practice.

Fast example: the oft-touted Greatest Generation had the balls to “make the world safe for democracy” (ha!), but somehow couldn’t make a stand when it came time to protect their own children and grandchildren from the onslaught of ebonics and pidgin Spanish.

And to be honest… it really doesn’t take as much balls as they’re given credit for, considering most of the victory was achieved through superior odds in the field and massive destruction (along with it’s handmaiden, collateral damage) from the air… all the while one’s own homeland (for all intents and purposes) safe and secure.

Like being greatly outnumbered in the Pacific? Don’t forget that most of our forces were destroyed by the Japanese in the Pearl Harbor attack. Then, we had to attack them on well fortified positions.

And the German war machine was one of the greatest fighting forces in history. And again, we had to attack well fortified positions.

I agree that the “greatest generation” wasn’t so. But don’t be stupid.

The wars they fought were brutal in their own way. Each full-scale war that has been waged has seen horrific and inhuman acts perpetrated by both sides. And each is one that most could un-wish having happened.

I also agree that our victory was never assured, at least until we had The Bomb.

Bullshit… our naval and air power pwned the Japanese, once we got our feet under us after the (ahem) surprise attack.

And man-for-man, the Germans might have been a great fighting force… but by the time we got after ’em, they were spent and spread out way too thin… and I believe we invariably outnumbered them in each and every major campaign.

And then there’s those 1000 plane raids and such in the final years of the war, many of which were virtual milk-runs.

        Stupid yourself.

You are too hard on the Greatest Generation. They survived appalling poverty in the Depression. Appalling destruction in WWII. Most men ages 17-40 were in the military. For example, the loss rate in the Air Campaign over Europe was over 50% KIA. We lost over 70,000 men in that effort alone. At Okinawa, basically WWI trench warfare, we lost about 13,000 KIA. In one battle alone. When the Japanese were essentially whipped.

The Greatest Generation saw real horror. Stuff you and I cannot imagine. Like best friends cut in half by a shell and screaming as they died, or little kids burnt by flamethrowers in a cave. So they wanted to protect their kids.

Total combat deaths less than 300K… from all causes, a tad more than 400K.

Nobody is claiming US soldiers didn’t die, often heroically, in WWII. Geez, Louise, how dense can you guys be? Or how desperate to make some point, any point?

The issue is about relative numbers in re the battles they fought and the not-insignificant numerical advantages and tremendous material advantages they had over the enemy…

Not to forget the greater casualties sustained on the other side… especially collateral civilian damages… not exactly an heroic battle by our guys… which far, far, far, FAR outnumbered US military deaths.

Yep. The “greatest generation” wasn’t even the greatest generation. The generations that fought the revolutionary war and civil war sacrificed more and did more to build this nation than the “greatest generation.” The USA became the largest economy in the world decades before they were even born.

The “greatest generation” only seems that way because we’re comparing them to the generations that followed. And, like PR points out, none of our generation even compare. We’re boys comparing ourselves to men. So they seem to tower above us like the immortals.

No. The Silent Generation were the ones who pioneered no-fault divorce. Boomers and Gen X then proceeded to frivorce each other in droves. Millennials, seeing a wave of marital instability, decided to just give up on marriage (with the exception of Asians and elite Whites) and have kids out of wedlock.

The real Greatest Generation were the European men who fought these raping murdering Red Army auxiliary Anglo-American war criminals.

True, but the Boomers were fully co-opted by the sinister aliens into waging the Cultural War within their own countries.

That has been a longer term project, and one that will be more genocidal in outcome than the wars of the twentieth century.

The Greatest Generation didn’t do the best job of passing their culture on. Then again, it is hard to pass along the wisdom and sterness that will be created by a childhood of poverty followed by war when you are creating the greatest boom in wealth the world has ever seen.
As poorly as the Greatest passed along their values, the Boomers multiplied its effects hundred-fold by rejecting every bit of it at Universities and rock concerts. What they did retain, they did not pass on to Gen X or the Millennials.

The boomers passed along the values of earlier Americans precisely because they rejected those values wholesale. In doing so they abandoned their own children to raise themselves, thus creating a generation that basically developed independence in thought and action as an act of default survival.

I’m GenX, the Boomers were out partying and treating their kids like crap from day one, forward. Most of my contemporaries are to a large degree independent and rationally individualist to the point of extreme.

When daddy abandons you, you get to be raised girly. When mommy and daddy both are out snorting coke leaving you alone to discover the world, you learn to fend for yourself.

Just my take, YMMV, but I don’t think it’s a coincidence that a vast majority of “the tea party” types, at the beginning anyway, were late 30’s through 40’s men (GenX).

      Musing out loud, I guess.

I’ve found that they are a mix of Gen X and Boomer-‘Nam Veterans, in the marches (the Marches on DC) and meetings I’ve been too.

Another aspect of this that almost identically mirrors the Values-Transfer aspects of these generations is the wealth transference aspect.

The Greatest skimpt and saved every damned penny they could and in doing so built a Savings-Based economy. They bought a lot once the 50s hit, but they produced way more and there was plenty for everyone.

By the Boomers, those savings started to be burned up and a debt-based economy arose. That’s currently what we have now.
As a result, Boomers are in massive amounts of debt. My parents, God bless them, started years ago paying theirs off. Most haven’t.
Boomers have been at the point for a while now where they are going into debt on the backs of future generations.

So, not only have Boomers pulled themselves up by the ladder of savings above them created by the Greatest, but once the ladder was gone, they are standing on the backs and necks of their children.

They spent not only their inheritance, but their children’s as well.

Aye, ’tis true. Mom and pop divorced, dad moved out of state to start a new family with a young hottie girlfriend (this, I do not begrudge him, but he did basically disappear from my life except during holidays), mom decided to whoop it up partying and abandoned me, first in a technical sense then eventually a legal sense. Basically raised myself until I was old enough to latch onto my uncle(s) and learn how to hunt and be part of a 1% motorcycle gang (at 14 that shit taught some valuable shit).

Watched a lot of my friends go through similar (well, split latch key families anyway). I used to say “I envy you folks that had stable families”, but at this point in life I cherish my independent spirit and ability to stand up and openly defy society without fear, so I take value from what was given to me by life.

In the 1960s motorcycle associations whose members were normal working citizens were concerned about the image motorcycling got from outlaw biker gangs like the Hell’s Angels. They claimed that criminal bikers were 1% of all motorcyclists. As a result, Hell’s Angels began referring to themselves as “one-percenters” and wore patches on their leather jackets that read “1%er”.

–almost perfect sanitation (drink the water even in midst of huge cities, all medical practices conform to modern standards)
–unbelievable technology advances with essentially free computing power for all
–largely polite and professional police (i’m an asshole and every time the cops have dealt with me they’ve been polite, giving me tickets etc, and never asked for bribes)
–A fairly transparent plutocratic economic system where the rich are at least honest in that they’re absorbing 98% of wealth production, and offering you an electoral system where if you stopped electing Yalie elites you can get some of it back, but you don’t want to cuz you like the rich people.
–Only about one ( 9/11) enemy infiltration into the country which killed 3000-soething in the last 100 years, a tragedy psychologically but an extreme outlier in the history of all empires.

Gen X right now is age 35 to 40…our kids are aged 0 to 8. There are no adult children of Gen X right now except perhaps for 20 year olds with a 40 year old mother.

There are no INFLUENTIAL non-trash children of Gen X right now. The children of good Gen X people are aged 0 to 12 right now.

Which means that, yes, there are kids old enough to be adults now, if you get somebody here in my generation who started young (~18 to 20). In fact, I have a former classmate acquaintence who is a grandfather (same age as me) now.

Generation X, commonly abbreviated to Gen X, is the generation born after the Western Post–World War II baby boom. Demographers, historians and commentators use beginning birth dates from the early 1960s to the early 1980s.

Offshoot of this: these days I often see “Generation Y” used as a synonym for “Millennial”, but I distinctly remember first seeing that word used for the people born around 1975-1985, who bridged Gen X and the Millennials. People born in this era had very different upbringings than the ’60s births that made up the early part of Gen X. More computers and video games, a more stultifying education system, fewer two-parent homes, and of course a whole lote more girl-power and feminism. As a member of this group, I’d like to see us take the “Gen Y” label back, because we’re not traditional Gen X-ers and we’re not Millennials, either.

If I were to use any particular descriptors for this bunch, it would that they tend towards the extreme and nerdiness; your techno-libertarian types and Big Bang Theory leftists are most likely to be comprised of a fair number from the Gen-Y group.

When you are born with a silver spoon in your mouth like the boomers…you expect everything handed to you. Life doesn’t work that way…unless you whine to the government enough and promise to vote for a certain party that gives you the goodies. Screw the boomers and their “free love”. I have a -little-, sympathy for Millenials, but not much. They are largely as described in the original article, but you also have to feel as least a bit of sympathy for a person that is growing up in a world where you will, almost certainly, be worse off than your parents.

This is a completely alien concept in the United States for at least the last 3-4 generations. I’m sure if I was facing such a bleak landscape I’d probably have some righteous and somewhat justified indignation about those older than me that managed to fuck things up so utterly.

So I give them a pass on that part at least. All the rest though, the shoe fits nicely and firmly.

I’ve tried to explain this to my parents a few times, but they have a hard time understanding it. There’s a low-level angst that underlies almost every facet of life for your average Millennial; work, school, friends, family, all of it. I don’t think we’re so much indignant as we are resigned. We know we don’t have a future, but far too many of are saying “fuck it” rather than “fix it.”

When the chips are truly down– Defaults on US Debt worldwide, Fed Reserve monopoly money shut down, Social Security Ponzi Scheme demolished. It will be middle-aged white guys vs 21st century America.

Who will win? I use to think, not long ago, BigGov. But I realized something that has me sleeping as peacefully as Osama Bin-Laden ever slept at night. Europeans rule the world still, in spite of all propaganda to the contrary.

We built the 20th-21st century. We built all inventions during the same period, and we built anyone’s ability to question it all. But at the end of the day, we can tear it all down post FUCKING haste, if we need to. Third of all, entertainment is now practically free.

remember tho, who it was doing all the dying in the wars fought by the “greatest generation”: men. because of this, a lot of masculine energy was removed from society, and the remaining levels weren’t sufficient to keep the feminine energy, which was comparably left unscathed, in check. thus, feminist liberal groupthink was able to gain a foothold in positions of authority under the emotional guise of “compassion”. this then led to what we see now. however, masculine energy is back on the rise via the manosphere, et al. you won’t see it in the mainstream media for obvious reasons, but it is there, boiling under the lid. in 2-3 more generations we’ll see the poisonous feminist ideology sent back into the abyss from whence it came (thanks to the shiv), and the balance restored. we gents are the first wave of shivtonian knights… si se puede

It would be wrong to blame our current predicament on any particular generation.

The single event that forever changed the ancient and finely balanced rules of human sexual relations, was the introduction of the contraceptive pill. i.e.… Women no longer having to face the responsibilities/consequences of their biology.

Most men, society in general – especially women themselves – have yet to come to terms with the magnitude of this one event and it’s catastrophic social ramifications.

For anyone interested, here’s an interesting debate between Peter Hitchens and a old, childless/clueless, feminist on this very subject.

Note that at 0:28:02 she is forced to admit that the one thing feminists like her, didn’t anticipate when making it easier for women to get divorced “was that most men tend to prefer younger women” and that “divorced women would have such difficulty in finding a new sexual partner”.

I don’t buy it. The condom has been around for centuries, and various other devices predate the pill as well. My suspicion is the big difference hinges around automation and the move from blue collar type jobs to the sorts of office jobs for which women are reasonably well suited. Women can survive on their own… as long as they don’t want children.

It may have been when the government started taking over fatherly roles through Medicaid, food stamps, and section 8. Poor women had more incentive to play the “alpha fux, beta bux” game.

Whenever the government takes over a private role, that role player goes out. When the government started enforcing worker safety, unions started dying out. When the government started paying SSI, people started having less kids.

“The condom has been around for centuries”

For obvious reasons, condoms have always been a male controlled form of contraception – and if anything, tended to lessen a woman’s reproductive choices.

However, the universal introduction of the contraception pill gave women (for the first time in human history) 100% control of the reproduction process.

Of course many other factors have come along to compound matters but without the pill, women would have been unable to abandon their natural place in society – patriarchal motherhood.

Look. It is simple. We are becoming a third world country. Accept it and adapt.

White elites do fine in a third world country. Make sure you are in that elite group.

As far as feminism, don’t watch TV or go to the movies. Then you’ll miss most of it. Vulgar entertainment is just that. What do you care if a woman is a feminist? That is just hot air. You aren’t thinking of marrying her, are you? Learn to put up an acceptable social front while doing what you want. Enjoy and exploit their ignorance. Never let them know what you really think. They are simply objects for your enjoyment. Make money. Fill your life with useful and rewarding activities. The world is interesting. Business, art, music, fast cars, travel, your profession, your friends and relatives. The list is long. Don’t get married until you are too old for anything else. And then, stash money away, out of her reach.

Use women for your pleasure and don’t fret about their special needs.

Never take a women seriously until you are looking to get married. Being worried about the opinion of a woman is a severe character flaw in a man.

God, to be 18 again. Young men, you live in an enviable era. Every generation thinks the previous generation had it better. They didn’t. You youngsters don’t even remember polio. Just don’t make dumb choices and you will be fine. Be selfish, go for the money, and don’t be afraid of taking reasonable risks. Never let the simple fear of failing prevent you from doing anything, whether professionally or socially.

Life is just too short to piddle away.

With regards to hong kong beauty queen celebrity and status can also mess with a guys ability to game sucessfully. My brother had an encounter with a famous female celebrity that might had gone somewhere had she not been married. In the mid 2000s he had a job as a corporate accountant drone at a commercial real estate firm in NYC. He has natural game though, and is extroverted by nature. One time his friend got him into an after party during fashion week. He opened up a conversation with a hot blonde next to him at the bar Her name? Jessica Simpson. This was around the height of her fame. The encounter didn’t go anywhere because she was married and her handlers would have prevented anything from happening. But his friends and other people came up to him to ask him about her. They asked him if he knew who she was. He said he didn’t. The social proof he got from boosted his status at the party. A big part of that came from the nonchalant way he carried himself when he talked to Jessica Simpson, as a result of not knowing who she was.
