Alexis de Tocqueville’s Prescient Gaze

January 15, 2014 by CH

DAN IN ATL passes along wise words from a long-gone species of man: The keen observer of reality.

In his classic study “Democracy in America”, Alexis de Tocqueville included this gem:

“There are people in Europe who, confounding together the different characteristics of the sexes, would make man and woman into beings not only equal but alike. They would give to both the same functions, impose on both the same duties, and grant to both the same rights; they would mix them in all things–their occupations, their pleasures, their business. It may readily be conceived that by thus attempting to make one sex equal to the other, both are degraded, and from so preposterous a medley of the works of nature nothing could ever result but weak men and disorderly women.”

The twisted roots of American feminism trace back to the motherland: Europe. To find the malevolent pool of black goo that belched the feminism-equalism battleaxes-of-evil, you need to journey to the ancestral lands of your forebears. For most Americans prior the 1965 White Dissolution Immigration Act, that means the lands of Napoleon, Richard III, and Kaiser Wilhelm.

Weak men and disorderly women. de Tocqueville saw clear what many of us living in the grip of his realized dystopia cannot or will not. Time enough has passed; the weakness spreads and the binds of men and women fray. We had warnings. Why didn’t we heed them? Because, perhaps, free will is illusory. We crash in the machinery of these ageless, infinitely looping social cycles, rattling like loose nuts, dimly grasping the exhausted end we’re hurtling toward, but unable to do anything about it save rust within the decay. Our hopes and aspirations, it appears, exist in precarious balance with an ineradicable death wish.

You choose the same type of man over and over and over and over. Then you add requirements to choose a subset of the same type of man, but the frequency of opening your heart or vag to a man sssssllllooowwwwwwssss ddddooooowwwwwnnnnn as your rules bank grows, yet the same results. Which is why the domestic cat population is doing so well these day.

How are you going to establish that, if free will be illusory? Determinism is pure subjectivism. Determinists are locked inside their subjective mind without being able to see the world outside.

“Determinists are locked inside their subjective mind without being able to see the world outside.”

It’s possible that everyone is locked inside their subjective mind without being able to see the world outside, so I am not sure that can be used as an argument in favor of the existence of free will.

It’s a perfect argument against determinism, since determinist claim that theirs is the “scientific” view.

Free will is an axiom of human knowledge and hence rationally undeniable. “Man’s possession of volitional control over his own mind is axiomatic.” (Harry Binswanger, “Volition as Cognitive Self-Regulation”, page 20.)

Yeah pretty much. A hard determinist will act like what what free will where where I can’t see it where is it dur duh duh! And make everything into a robotic simplicity.

But people who understand free agency exists understand that the complexity of will has to work with deterministic factors and will deduce rules to simplify the complexity, but will in the end “make their own destiny.”

When scientists speak of determinism, they don’t mean hard determinism. They mean an innate tendency to act.

True but that’s got nothing to do with free will question. A “black box” position is if not preferable, certainly something liberals can work with. The “ghost in the machine” side of debate would seem more problematic for if not inimical to liberals’ worldview and objectives.

“the more I am fascinated by Russia, and by Russians”. Because it is safe to focus on a non-Western nation. Much like how some will focus on Japan or China to find qualities that are easily found in Western history and culture, but they look across the world to find it because it is safer. And because their own history is to a large extent hidden.

Russians are closer to Americans in their thinking than are Western Europeans. Their influence on western culture is also huge as is ours on theirs. I don’t have any trouble dealing with them and generally like them. I like Ukrainians more. In any event, it’s obvious that you have never read Tolstoy. The West has never produced a writer of his talent and gravity. When you read his works, you are there in the cavalry’s tents, drinking whisky, playing cards, and smoking cigars.

I think it’s a question better answered by scientists and philosophers. Will feels like a passion, which is addressed best by writers of fiction, but whether or not the will is free is a dry and technical discussion.

Will is probably too complex to explain and a Christian’s view of will is different from what current scientists and psychologist views are. But either way, the will has some freedom, how much isn’t really known; but some studies have been done on twins, for example, to try and hone in the percentages.

Those who study propaganda, or “the effect that political messages in different media have on the public”, have long known that people are easily led. Hence the title of Doctor Oliver Thomson’s book, Easily Led. Only about ten percent of a people will actively think of the manipulation around them and resist it.

This pattern with a majority who lack the intelligence, selflessness and courage to resist propaganda, and a minority of around ten percent who resist, holds true throughout history.

The Roman emperors were the first to mint coins with the emperor’s head on the coin. This gave everyone an image of the emperor and made his presence and authority seem a given, natural thing. But how many think of how money is used as propaganda? Nations put their leaders or demagogues on coins and bills. The EU made a huge effort to eliminate national currencies and replace them with the “euro”, refusing national referendums and ignoring those that were held, precisely so people would always carry EU propaganda with them in their wallet, making it seem unstoppable.

Likewise the EU language, “historical opportunity”, “historical inevitability”, “you can’t turn back the clock”, “you can’t turn back history”, is a list of variations on the Borg message, “Resistance is Futile”. You will see it in every standard piece written by an EU functionary for a newspaper.

But how many think of this? Very few. Most just accept what they see without thinking about it. Meanwhile they are taught by schools to look out for “capitalist” propaganda, and they are taught that the fact that most main characters in movies are White men is propaganda – so they will dutifully look out for that. This, too, is propaganda. (Because the reason why main characters are men is obvious – men are the doers in most kind of action in society, both legal and illegal, having the testosterone, daring and strength needed. The fact that they are White is because the majority of viewers are White, and despite decades of propaganda they still identify best with one of their own. And most non-Whites also prefer to see a White main character. Asians – even Blacks – prefer it over a Black main character. It is easier on the eyes. But no mention is made of the White main character’s buddying up with Black friends throughout the movie or TV show, or the fact that the majority of judges and chiefs of police are presented as Black. This real propaganda people are blind to.)

Yes, people really are easily led. The majority. Then we have the minority, who are wired differently. Anyone reading a blog like this one is likely to belong to that minority.

Yes, people are remarkably predictable. But they can also be remarkably unpredictable. That’s one of the reasons why state planning doesn’t work. There’s no way to know what people will do.

I’m not saying this settles the issue — you asked for evidence.

I think that the proof of the answer to the question of free will, if a provable answer exists, would be very simple. But it does not exist because we’re trapped in undecidable questions e.g. are we predestined to do tht things we do but we don’t know it.

An example of Goedel’s theorem: within our system, we cannot decide some questions that we can ask.

And to those like you who deny that, explain why Jews are far more prone to have breast cancer, and why 90 percent of those with Tay-Sachs disease are Jewish. My, diseases that strike a certain religion! Right?

Explain how it is not relevant that non-Whites, all of one particular race, dominate the media ownership in the U.S. as well as in many other countries, and dominate Hollywood’s industry which is as effective as almost all other propaganda tools combined. And if you deny the evidence, explain why prominent Jews themselves have admitted to this domination.

True but irrelevant. Your line here is the standard reply when a leftist wants to deny statistical evidence. Do I need to spell out the obvious answer? Apparently I do, since you are either too dumb to think of it yourself, or too dishonest. The fact that “there are good and bad people in all groups!” ignores the fact that there are far more bad people in some groups, and this is what should be thought of when deciding policy and deciding our own attitude to the policies implemented. I expect that you have no problem understanding this concept when a group you don’t like is discussed, but then you play dumb when facts about another group become inconvenient.

Which reminds us, those who try to build farming on socialist idealism always fail. And no other system turns people into parasites as much as this.

The Soviet Union failed to feed its people, despite the enormous farmland. The U.S. gave the USSR grains in secret for many years. The Soviet leaders refused to accept the grains unless it was given in secret, preferring to let the people starve instead.

About 4 percent of Soviet farmland was private however; people were allowed to grow a little on their own here and there. Even though it was just 4 percent, these private plots consistently yielded a quarter to a third of total produce. In other words, private plots were more than 8 to 12 times as productive. (Can be looked up in Wikipedia among other places.)

Consider also the first colonies in the U.S.:

The governor of the Plymouth colony, William Bradford, wrote that the colonists went hungry for years because they refused to work the collective fields. They preferred to steal food. He wrote that the colony was riddled with “corruption” and “confusion and discontent”. The crops were small because “much was stolen both by night and day, before it became scarce eatable.”

People hated working when the gains from any effort they made would be shared equally with everyone else. If you work one hour extra and the fruits of your labor are shared with 100 other people, you are better off not working that hour, saving your strength.

But the harvest of 1623 was different. Suddenly people had a lot to eat. In 1624 they had so much food that the colonists were able to begin exporting corn. Why? Because after 1622’s terrible harvest, they divided the collective farmland into private farmland. Governor Bradford gave each household a parcel of land to tend to on their own. Farm output doubled and then tripled, as there was now a connection between personal work and personal gain. And that was the end of socialism and famine.

The result was the same in Jamestown and other colonies.

Then the Jamestown colony was converted to a free market, and the results were every bit as dramatic as those at Plymouth. In 1614, Colony Secretary Ralph Hamor wrote that after the switch there was “plenty of food, which every man by his own industry may easily and doth procure.” He said that when the socialist system had prevailed, “we reaped not so much corn from the labors of thirty men as three men have done for themselves now.”

And note: these were colonies with religious people who felt a connection and had freely chosen to live with each other. And collective ownership didn’t work even for them.

Alas, if kids would learn about this in school when farming is discussed, instead of how evil Westerners are for having more food than Africans.

True enough. I used to work at a company that had a profit-sharing deal. Every group had specific goals. Every quarter your group made its quota, it got its bonus for that quarter. Here’s what didn’t work so well. The company had a very Kumbaya group mentality, so the group as a whole made the quota or not. There was no accounting for productivity variance, so if Joe made 100 widgets and Frank made 5, well, too bad for Joe for being a sucker – they got equal shares. Even worse, the goals almost always required some ‘crunch time’ at the end of the month (put time in on the weekend, etc…) Funny thing, Joe was always there, but Frank, not so much. Oh, the last piece de resistance: it was impossible to get Frank fired, since that required the entire group to agree, and between goody two-shoes, and people who would have been next on the list if Frank were canned, it just never happened.

    From the Spearhead link:

“Oh my gosh yes. They (men in the industry) don’t want to talk to you, they don’t want to deal with you, they’re very uncomfortable dealing with you,” said Colleen Hallett, who owns Mobile Electrical Distributors in Seattle. “I have salesmen come in here and bypass me and go straight to my male employees even though I’m the boss.”

I’m shocked. I had no idea that selling to people involved putting up with microaggressions. I think we need a State-appointed Mental Wellness Commissar to oversee every business transaction involving amounts greater than one dollar, to make sure no one’s feelings are hurt.

No, he didn’t. The quote is invented. No one has found where it actually came from, but it’s not anywhere in Tocqueville.

He also did not say “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing, always to be followed by a dictatorship, then a monarchy.”

That is often attributed to him too, wrongly.

I prefer Nietzsche. Too lengthy at times, but you can find many thoughtworthy truths in his writings that people hadn’t spelled out before, even if they had acted in accordance with them instinctively, and then been made to feel guilty for it. Nietzsche thought it was time to spell them out loud.

        Thus Spake Zarathustra, abridged version:

The part you don’t see about socialism and since you live in Norway, I believe, are a victim of it, is the idea of destroying all the traditional forms of social cohesion except for one, which will use that cohesion to rule over the others through ethnic networking to gain and maintain control of the levers of power in all sectors, to the exclusion of the other ethnic and racial groups. It is about them enslaving us, stealing all of our property and being our masters through control of the communist party.

We crash in the machinery of these ageless, infinitely looping social cycles, rattling like loose nuts, dimly grasping the exhausted end we’re hurtling toward, but unable to do anything about it save rust within the decay. America was founded by Europeans building homes for themselves and their descendants. Not on an “idea”. That was only for a small minority who wanted a way to justify their revolution when European elites talked about it. The Constitution didn’t exist at the time of the American Revolution and no one fought for it. They fought for blood.

“Your troubles will vanishing the moment you realize that fundamental philosophic ideas rule the mind of men” – You miss the part about who decides what ideas people should think about. The deciders are in the mass media. What you should think about is what group of people dominate those media. If they are not Americans, then they will not promote American interests. Hollywood is the by far largest tool of propaganda in the world, creating a false reality that people have watched for hours every day of their lives for generations. Scandinavians, like Germans, Britons, Irish, Spanish, Italians, Greeks etc have been brainwashed by this tool. Scandinavians, being better people than most, had laws before there was government, and obeyed them for the good of all. For this reason people didn’t have to give up their independence to clans to survive. The downside is that the ideals of justice built by Germanics work against us. We never had a need to describe the justice ideal as For Our Kind Only, so it could be exploited.

And don’t think Eastern Europe is any different. Some people idolize Eastern Europe because it used to be more conservative, but that is only because the communists, once in power, found it more beneficial to allow some conservative traditions. (One of the greatest pieces of evidence that conservatism works is that the anti-conservatives, when their power isn’t threatened by elections, will turn to conservatism.) They didn’t have Hollywood propaganda so they didn’t have the cultural side of Marxism, only the economic side. But today globalist media are all over Eastern Europe, and the East Europeans are no more resistant to the daily propaganda than anyone else on earth. They just started listening to it later.

That’s true about Eastern Europeans. But there’s one big problem. You have to live there a while as I did to realise how much they look up to the ‘West’ as being advanced, progressive etc. They see the way we behave w/r/t multiculturalism, immigration, feminism etc. and assume that’s the way to go. The beautiful Slovenian city of Piran has a black mayor and Poland has its first black MP (=Senator). Here’s a particularly dreadful case from Poland.

Europeans have had the “mass war” tendency since the 30 years’ war, a good starting point to when it had become a beta culture. It’s not normal for a staggering proportion of the male population to fight in a war, in a civilized country. Civilized wars require specialization, in principle. Mass wars are done by brainwashed beta dweeb peasants.

Protestant individualism might have started it.

“a beta culture”. The word “beta” is not some insult you can add to whatever topic you are talking about.

“It’s not normal for a staggering proportion of the male population to fight in a war, in a civilized country” That’s hilarious. Throughout history it has been standard procedure for the men of a tribe, clan or nation to fight. It was ONLY in Europe that the idea arose that rules should restrict war. The Treaty of Westphalia was unique in world history, an agreement where European nations decided that the states should have a monopoly on war. Until then there had been local armed groups, towns with their own fighting forces, soldiers employed by the Catholic Church, provinces with their own armies, etc.

The Treaty of Westphalia also regulated many other aspects of war, such as the treatment of prisoners, and how diplomacy would be respected. While its rules would be broken many times, it was the first time war was restricted, and from that treaty the idea spread across the world. This European idea that war should not be an unrestricted free-for-all with no cause has become so strong that even when people break it they have to at least appear to honor it.

A “beta culture”, way to tack on the local terminoloty to the anti-Western hostility you learned in school. And what a complete ignorance of history, I am impressed.

The 30 Years War was a war of political control and territorial gain by all those forces in Europe that rivaled the Hapsburgs, AKA the Holy Roman Empire. It was not a constant war throughout Europe, but rather wandered from place to place, mostly in Germany but going into Bohemia, Poland, France and the Low Countries as well. Regions went untouched by the war for many years and then the front came through for whatever reason. All sides employed mercenaries, which made up the bulk of the forces for some factions. Generally, the forces were well trained and disciplined for the day. Renee Des Cartes served as a mercenary in the 30 Years War.

Only a political amateur thinks fascism and communism can be described in the same breath. That is typical for American amateurs who want to criticize communism, but don’t want to be seen as “Nazi” (the real words is Nazist, dumbasses; “Nazi” was a slur invented by German communists, like “commie” is a slur), so they include “fascism” in the list. Fascism was conservatism with a spine. It was ordinary people organizing to fight back against the communists who were murdering diplomats and politicians, attacking conservative political meetings after WWI, beating up shopkeepers and looting their stores, and fomenting riots in preparation for a communist takeover like in Russia.

“Europeans like collective violence” – Those evil Europeans. I suppose the rest of the world doesn’t have “collective violence”. No riots in the U.S., are you serious? Can you really be that ignorant? There has been far more rioting in the U.S. in the post-War era than in Europe. Go look up “flash mobs” in YouTube for the latest version.

“wars”? You honestly claim that Americans don’t engage in wars, that it’s a more European thing? Amazing.

Correction. The Nation In Arms was from the French Revolution period. The 30 years war, while devastating, was mainly fought by armies composed heavily of mercenaries. There were few attempts to constrain their tendency to plunder and pillage and they ran rampant across the primary battle ground of Germany. Most of the populace was looted and pillaged by both (sometimes more than two) sides but were not in arms.

De Tocqueville was not the first to understand the societal malady caused by “equalizing the sexes.” The following quote has been attributed to Socrates:

“Once made equal to man, woman becomes superior.”

The implications of this statement are quite base. The balance of power in gender roles lies in the fact that each gender has “highest and best use.” Once the roles are perverted and natural order is violated, bedlam will ensue. Women will enjoy a usurpation of power, albeit brief, until order is restored. Essentially equal outcome for unequal performance becomes the mandate. Men are no longer afforded the opportunity to perform the societal functions which they do best. It can be no other way, as men are biologically incapable of fulfilling the roles of women.

Yes, the workplaces that on average have the most conflict between employees are the ones dominated by women, and with women as bosses.

While not all men make good managers, the best boss is the man who is relaxed and secure in his position, and acts like a rock for others to lean on. Women will always have the nagging feeling that they are not supposed to be there, and they will have the need to demonstrate power, the way they think power is demonstrated – by anger and punishment, a hair-trigger attitude. What, isn’t that what The Men do, they ask? No, it isn’t. And their aggression is always reserved for those they think they can squash easily. Anyone who is a serious threat to the workplace, a seriously aggressive and strong bastard, will be allowed to roam free while the female boss looks away. Especially if the bastard, whether in the workplace or in a classroom, belongs to a protected group. Because even the female boss is hard-wired to obey the propaganda from those in power, which is the way to get ahead, so she will ignore whatever the criminal in the protected group does.

They will also very often rule the workplace by alliances. Their circle of friends will be the ones they listen to the most, and these will be favored in order to have a loyal group that can be used against the rest. While a man as boss will establish a pyramidical hierarchy without favoritism.

“Hierarchy”. Such an evil word, right? “Circle of friends”. Such a good word, right? Wonder why we have been taught that?

It has actually been observed professionally too. Consultants who specialize in therapy for workplaces where there are conflicts between the employees say this: most of the time the workplaces they are hired to fix are women-dominated workplaces.

Female bosses who are given their position as a result of “gender quotas” are consistently graded as worse than other bosses. Even by female employees. They are graded worse both at their technical knowledge of the job, and at their ability to handle employees.

Even though women are supposed to have so much better “people skills”. Give me a relaxed, competent, jovial male boss any day. How relaxing it is to have such a boss. Especially in a time of crisis, that’s when you learn to really appreciate it.

Oh, I should say not all women are worse, that is true. But we are talking about the general conditions.

The most cursory study of any woman’s opinion about her fellow-creatures will always reveal the same fact: that they are not based at all upon the intrinsic value of people, but on the way people treat her. This is a comparatively harmless trait so long as woman has no power; the moment, however, that she is placed in a position of wielding power, her errors of judgment affect public life, and she only accepts those men as her ministers, advisers or directors who can prostrate themselves with the best grace at her feet, and appeal most irresistibly to her vanity. Her choice of a fellow-creature may of course be right by a fluke, as for instance when he combines with general ability the power for fulsome flattery.

The First World War was also instigated by “International Finance” in order to prepare the world for communism and of course, to make a buck in the process. The same is likely true about the Second World War. They intend to create a third and final war to complete our preparation for Communism. For the inventor of multi-culturalism, look to Franz Boas, a Columbia University professor of Anthropology, who became the most influential man in his field and spawned a legion of protégés who came to dominate anthropology and sociology, politicizing it in the process. Among them was Margaret Mead. He can be called the inventor of political correctness. Read about him in Kevin MacDonald’s book, Culture of Critique.

Interestingly de Tocqueville attributes a lot of the admirable things he found in America to her women.

    http://history.hanover.edu/courses/excerpts/165tocqueville.html

Although, he noted that antebellum American intersexual relations operated under the now-defunct doctrine of “separate but equal.” It seems they understand that women and men were different and had different roles, but they also understood that a woman was to be held morally culpable for her actions, and that when held to standards she became superior to her European counterparts. An interesting summary, and one that dovetails nicely with neoreaction.

Maybe the wealth generated by capitalism made people more decadent and narcissistic. That’s the thing about free markets, they do work in generating more abundance and a higher standard of living for average people contrary to what the left claim. But the other side of that is that maybe when life isn’t such a constant struggle any more as it was in times past people tend to decay in character in this way. They become sort of spoiled in a sense.

For instance like as far as men go, being a weak man *is* easier than being strong. Being strong means you actually have to face your fears. So feminism is anti-male in a sense but in another way it kind of gives men sort of a pass because it says that we don’t really have to be the strong leaders that we once were. That we can sit on the sidelines of life and let women guide us and somehow this will all work out.

“capitalism made people more decadent and narcissistic”. LOL Love it how the dumb little socialists always spread their shit without the least bit of facts.

So there is no “decadence” in communist countries where people lie dying in the streets from drug use? That’s not decadent? “Narcissistic” – Bullshit. Communist countries produce the most selfish peoples the world has seen. In North Korea children dying from hunger in the streets is a common sight, and people just walk by. An American journalist wrote of a visit to Cambodia where he saw a little girl fall from a tree and hit the pavement head-first. People just kept walking by, and this American “capitalist” was the only one who rushed to help her.

In Russia, jokes became bitter and sadistic under the Soviet era. Everyone would shit on those below in the hierarchy, because that’s what was done to them. In the army the second-year conscripts humiliate and beat up the first-year conscripts, even subject them to sexual harassment. Every year soldiers die from being beaten. This comes from Soviet times, but we didn’t hear about it then. Now there are even organizations of mothers who have sons in the military and try to change the brutal conditions there.

In the early 1990s, when statistics could be made after the Soviet fall, 86 percent of Russian women had had at least one abortion. The average Russian woman had already had three abortions at the age of twenty-five.

In Vietnam, after young men have been in the military they come home and act like crap to their own families. They learn to have an aggressive, hateful attitude, which is meant to prepare them for when they have to kill civilians. If you are robbed in Vietnam, no one will come to help you, they have learned not to care. Now that they have some private enterprise the Communist Party steals whatever they want from private businesses. A Vietnamese man who had built a business, which his relatives invested their life savings in, was thrown in jail on fake charges of drug smuggling, because the local Communist Party wanted his building for their new headquarters,

In WWII, the Soviet Red Army raped more women than had been raped in all other European wars combined. They raped millions. They raped German women, Austrian women, Romanian women, Yugoslavian women, Finnish women, Polish women, Baltic, Bulgarian, Hungarian and Czechoslovakian women. And Russians, taught to be sadistic, simply laughed and applauded this, and don’t care about it even today.

Little socialist losers like Mike here are always the worst filth, that’s what makes them socialists. Then they lie about it and accuse others of the crimes they commit themselves. This is standard leftist procedure, always accuse others of what you do, in order to confuse onlookers. Mike is probably too dumb to know that’s what he is doing, but he is reflexively following the cues taught to him.

The problem instead can be solved by noting you would have never met a weak Spartan warrior. It’s not that weak baby boys weren’t born rather they were culled from society at every step of the boys’ lives to the point that only the strongest and hardiest men became the warriors. Hence it has been noted that modern medicine weakens society by allowing the pathetic and weak to reach reproductive age. It seems to some extent humanity is safe enough is that male and female beauty cues still pertain to healthiness in each sex.

I think a good way to start changing things would be when a couple decides to have children. You could easily take out fifty eggs and fertilize them, then pick the one that has the least probability for birth defects and use that one. That would cost a bit more, but the saved costs for society later in life would be enormous.

Now there is a firm in China that seeks to map genes among people who are exceptionally good at math, then compare them to the general population and hopefully find what differences make the math geniuses special. Then they would help families by finding the embryos with these genes. It hasn’t been done yet, but it will no doubt work, if not now then in a few years from now. This would help society greatly, but of course socialist egalitarians cry that this is “fascist” and therefore evil. If it was up to the Left, they would probably destroy the best genes in embryos instead, to make sure no one was better.

A doctor in the U.S. was going to let families choose the hair color and eye color of babies a few years ago. But leftist groups and media attacked him non-stop, and he was forced to abandon the idea. One of the socialists’ main goals is for all blond hair and blue eyes to be destroyed. A population with only dark eyes and dark hair will see less differences between itself and non-Whites, and will be less reluctant to mass immigration. But of course, there is also the general socialist hatred against anything that is unique for Whites. Especially if it is beautiful. Even as they themselves drool over this beauty. They are truly sick people.

Actually, what seems to have happened, relatively speaking, is that men became both weak and disorderly. The collapse in industriousness and civic-mindedness among working-class men is well-documented.

[CH: de Tocqueville is using a different meaning for the term disorderly. One that has graver implications for social cohesion.

And it’s out of this demographic that the last hope for humanity to save itself lies. Sexual interchangeability will NEVER extend to women doing the truly dangerous and dirty tasks that still hold modern societies together. That’s where the seeds need to be planted; before robotics catch up to pick up that slack (50-200 yrs).
Otherwise, it will take an environmental cataclysm that sends the whole word into a new dark age to set things right.

If you own slaves – as people always used to do throughout history, especially in Africa before Whites forced them to stop at gunpoint (you’re welcome, Bantus) – you must learn how to make the female slaves your allies. Pick one of the strongest male slaves and beat him bloody in public for being uppity. The women will watch and learn. In their self-interest they will decide that they don’t want that for their own offspring, even if rebellion would be best for the whole people in the long run. So they teach their sons to be obedient. They do everything to weaken their sons from when they first learn to walk and talk. If the adult men talk about their people’s history and pride, the women will hurry to ridicule them and taunt them about their current weak position. They do this so their own sons will not get any ideas.

de Tocqueville also noted that one of America’s greatest strengths was her voluntary community groups – the Elks, etc.

I remember reading the story of an American visiting his ancestors’ town in “the old country”. He was surprised to find what he called a public sphere. There was a bouncing castle in the park where the kids played, and he noted that a bouncing castle where he lived in the U.S. would be taken over by the Black children, after which the Whites would abandon it and stop paying for it, and eventually it would break and be removed.

The U.S. used to have a far more vibrant public sphere than any European country, as de Tocqueville noted. (I have also read that part.) Americans felt a deeper sense of belonging, whereas in European cities you would have workers getting drunk and swearing at anyone who made more money. In America, all would spend time together.

Heck, even in the 19th century American presidents stepped out of the White House for daily walks without bodyguards. That would never have been done by any European prime minister or president. (And certainly not by communist leaders later, despite all their talk about working “for the people”.) That was truly unique for American culture. At that time the public street went past the windows to the White House, and through the windows you could see the president working inside. And even though there were far less gun laws and most people were armed, the presidents kept things like this without fear. Then.

      http://www.boston.com/news/globe/ideas/articles/2007/08/05/the_downside_of_diversity/?page=full

But a massive new study, based on detailed interviews of nearly 30,000 people across America, has concluded just the opposite. Harvard political scientist Robert Putnam — famous for ”Bowling Alone,” his 2000 book on declining civic engagement — has found that the greater the diversity in a community, the fewer people vote and the less they volunteer, the less they give to charity and work on community projects. In the most diverse communities, neighbors trust one another about half as much as they do in the most homogenous settings. The study, the largest ever on civic engagement in America, found that virtually all measures of civic health are lower in more diverse settings.

It is intriguing that De Tocqueville when referring to weak men did not then say ‘and strong women’, but used the epithet ‘disorderly’. He would not I think have been impressed by the idea that women would be Strong and Independent ™ ROFL. This word ‘disorderly’ (Henry Reeve’s translation) is somewhat vague or discreet and covers over with early Victorian sensibility what De Tocqueville surely meant: that modern women would be lazy, drunk, slutty and forever trying to shift blame for their behaviour to men.

His description of course applies not just to American and Canadiskunks but to all women in the Anglo-sphere.

One reason why we can trace this back to Europe was its rise to power. The US has done the same exporting the specialization of the sexes to Mexicans where the men do the back breaking work and the women are the nanny’s.

” The world may politically, as well as geographically, be divided into four parts, each having a distinct set of interests. Unhappily for the other three, Europe, by her arms and by her negotiations, by force and by fraud, has, in different degrees, extended her dominion over them all. Africa, Asia, and America, have successively felt her domination. The superiority she has long maintained has tempted her to plume herself as the Mistress of the World, and to consider the rest of mankind as created for her benefit. ”

Look, cracker has found voice. So, I gather you share the anti-Christian sentiment?

IMO, zhyds and papists better learn the meaning of “hanging together” or crakers’ll have them hanging separately.

It’s not that we could, even if we wanted to, to pick up a shooting war with kkkraker.

OTOH irish did it, but it took Gorta Mor, to get them off their arses.

So, never say never, but it will be interesting times.

Since my voice is oft heard in these environs, I’ll take that as an admittance that you’re just another South Park yiddler who jumped the snark, trolling for reactions.

Pagans didn’t worship trees because “worship” is mostly peculiar to the arse-lifting (literally or otherwise) religions of middle Eastern goat-herders.

That’s the problem with cracker. Germans may have turned to pre-Christian malarkey (“Then Thor will rise and smash, with his giant’s hammer, the Gothic cathedrals.”). Cracker? He ditches Christianity for the lord of lies, outright.

This is the story of the guy who cured (temporarily) the germans of their oak addiction.

Modern pagans don’t take that shit literally (and I’m not sure the original ones ever did). And what’s this “lord of lies” shit? Is this “My god kan kick your god’s arse”? AYFKM? Are you seriously arguing that “religion” has been the chief or only reason that Europeans were able to build great civilisations from the 4th Century on?! That Bushmen would have conquered the Hallstatts if only they believe in YHVH and His son? Sorry, but that’s non-rational and so not debatable.

Jon I think there were some norms introduced with christianity (looking down on cousin marriage being a big one) that were essential for the NW Europeans to be able to build such incredible organizations as the VOC or Her Majesty’s Navy. The societal trust that was necessary for something like that would not have arisen from the pre-christian, more clannish societies.

[…] The twisted roots of American feminism trace back to the motherland: Europe. To find the malevolent pool of black goo that belched the feminism-equalism battleaxes-of-evil, you need to journey to the ancestral lands of your forebears. For most Americans prior to the 1965 White Dissolution Immigration Act, that means the lands of Napoleon, Richard III, and Kaiser Wilhelm. Our hopes and aspirations, it appears, exist in precarious balance with an ineradicable death wish. https://heartiste.wordpress.com/2014/01/15/alexis-de-tocquevilles-prescient-gaze/ […]

From Glubb Pasha’s “The Fate Of Empires”, a pamphlet written in the mid-70s looking at ten historical empires :

“In the tenth century, a similar (feminist) tendency was observed in the Arab Empire, with women demanding entry to professions hitherto monopolised by men…. Many women practised law, while others obtained posts as university professors… Soon after this period, government and public order collapsed, and foreign invaders overran the country. The resulting increase in confusion and violence made it unsafe for women to move unescorted in the streets, with the result that this feminist movement collapsed”

Interesting. One more piece of history that we don’t hear about.

Another thing: women have always been treated better in Western nations than anywhere else in the world. Always been freer, without feminist demonization of men and without women demanding quotas. Heck, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria ruled over Britain, the greatest empire in the world. Women would run farms, when their husband died in disease or war, and they would run businesses for the same reasons. In pre-Catholic and post-Catholic times women could divorce their husbands.

But do feminists ever mention this? Of course not. The West, the most women-friendly part of the world, is what they want to destroy, so it is their main target. “Oppression of women” in other countries is only mentioned in passing and because they have to. Always more than 99 percent of the energy has been spent on attacking Western men.

This can only be done by ignoring history. Western history mostly, but also something like this piece of Arab history. Not because it would be too favorable for Arabs, but because it would weaken the feminist Marxist view of history as a story of oppressors vs. oppressed. Once any nuance is allowed, the whole thing risks unraveling.

Back in the day when the Ottomans ran parts of Eastern Europe, there were towns, adjacent, that were either Muslim or Christian. The Ottomans enforced a sort of tolerance, since they needed Christians to man their armies and run their empire, with the Christians of the empired having to pay a boy tax every year. The boys became soldiers or officials in the Muslim (Ottoman) empire. A very strange time. However, it worked. The Ottoman empire lasted for centuries, and was very powerful. It became decrepit finally because of its inability to embrace technological change, economic change, and political reforms. WW I just finished it off.

But, back to the point. It was not uncommon for a Muslim girl to run off with a Christian boy. This caused great friction, as you might expect. Few Christian girls ran off with Muslim boys. The reason was obvious. Christian women had much higher social status than Muslim women.

Our modern feminists are certainly hypocritical, and, they are actively destroying the very society that has given women the greatest freedom in the world, and perhaps in recorded history.

The same could be said of the gays and Africans.

    Not my problem.

I think the feminists will be encountering that attitude more and more frequenty. They have put all their eggs into the basket of the Democratic party, so to speak. That alliance of special interest groups, most of which are hostile to each other, has a rich history of abandoning this or that group anytime it serves the electoral interests of the alliance. The Democratic party is going 3rd world as fast as it can. It won’t be long before the feminists find they have no place in the Democratic party. And, they have certainly burned their bridges back to traditional European culture.

Again, not my problem. Since they don’t have many kids, they will die out, like the Quakers. I miss the Quakers. They made good furniture.
