Law school–until the collapse–still works fine for any person, even bottom 80% of the class, who actually wants to work 50 to 60 hours a week slaving away, getting fat, staring at paper and a computer screen, working to earn a living. The bottom 50% can do insurance defense, which royally sucks balls, but they can get a job if they are willing to put in the hours.
Where law school is BS is for the women who intend to “marriage retire” after 5 to 7 years or people in general (usually women, because they have the option) who don’t really want to make a career and work for 45 years as almost all men have to do, even alpha men who are good looking.
I graduated from law school about 15 years ago and I’ve worked every day (except for vacations) for 15 years, because I’m a man who must support myself and others. Same with all the male friends I know from school.
I recently saw a statistic saying something like 40% of the law class of 1999 are no longer working in law. I guarantee you that 95% of that 40% are women.
The glass ceiling bullshit and “women’s rights” committees that we are forced to endure is yet another humiliation of the white man by feminism. The “glass ceiling” is voluntary. Very few women make partner or work past age 35, or if they do, they get “female” jobs doing stuff like research (not going to court), BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT THEY CHOOSE TO DO, BECAUSE THEY CAN.
And who can blame them? Work sucks or they wouldn’t call it work (unless your work is your passion and you’re an athlete or rock star)…..nobody would work if they didn’t have to. HB6 and above women need not work.
The ones who keep working do it as play money (research clerks and “of counsel” jobs) and they have the husband who slaves away at biglaw earning $500,000 or $800,000 or whatever.
But your 70% number is not far off, as nowadays about 60% of new law students are women. Taking slots from men who NEED to work and would world and contribute to the economy if they could.

There were so many complaints by female lawyers in New York city that they could not get promotions or get big clients/big cases that the Lawyer association or whatever it is called ( going from memory ) decided to do a large study that took a couple of years to do.
Turns out that the average female lawyer after about 5 to 7 years quits because she got married and/or plans on having kids and staying at home. Some still wanted to work but reduced hours and no over time because of the kids at home…
Big clients have cases that may take 10-15 years to be resolved, and they don’t like to change lawyers every few years, so of course lawyer firms will not give big cases to a woman who may quit right in the middle of the case because she finally found mister right and will become a stay at home mother.
In other words there was no discrimination, no evil patriarchy plotting against women and creating an artificial glass ceiling.
The cause of the problem was/is women themselves.
Most women only want a career until they find mister right and want to have babies with him, who is going to invest in someone who may quit at the drop of a hat?

I innately understood to do this with my niece and was always told by my sister that I dealt the best with her of any of the family. Helps that I have patience. All women are like this these days. I use women for what I need, but I really don’t want them for more than that.
