This article by George Will leapt at me for its revelation into the rapidly bananifying condition of the former free republic known as America.
The IRS used “civil forfeiture,” the power to seize property suspected of being produced by, or involved with, crime. The IRS could have dispelled its suspicions of Terry and Sandy, if it actually had any, by simply asking them about the reasons — prudence, and the insurance limit — for their banking practices. It had, however, a reason not to ask obvious questions before proceeding.
The civil forfeiture law — if something so devoid of due process can be dignified as law — is an incentive for perverse behavior: Predatory government agencies get to pocket the proceeds from property they seize from Americans without even charging them with, let alone convicting them of, crimes. Criminals are treated better than this because they lose the fruits of their criminality only after being convicted.
Executive summary: IRS agents jackbooted into a grocery, stole all the money available on flimsy grounds, and refused to give any of it back to the store owners after it was determined no crime had been committed.

Do you know what kind of pension soldiers get? I work with one with was in the army since he was a kid (out now and in his 40’s). He was deployed to Iraq a bunch of times but he is now getting $3,000+ a month in retirement for the rest of his life. You think he’s giving that up? It’s all a welfare state that’s going down in flames. Not to mention the police and fire pensioners who will fight to the death to keep their unsustainable benefits. Promises the government never had the right to make them.

Unlike Americans, I have the privilege of watching high ranking politicians being convicted and put in prison too. It does take eons and they do try to corrupt the system to get out of it, but once in a while they end up behind bars. The country is generally shit and it is corrupt, but the only reason you feel it is because we had communism before this, while you had a pretty decent society of hard working people, warts and all.

actually, this is how the majority of the people in the military treat it-as a lavish social welfare program, which is exactly what it is. Case in point, I never met a white navy cook, not once! Why? bcs at that point the navy offered a $20,000 sign on bonus, something that im sure was irresistable to low IQ unskilled blacks/mexicans/filipinos. Also, the infantry was overwhelmingly white, with a few token blacks, latinos and asians. Bcs people who joined the infantry singed up to fight, not to reap welfare benefits.

You fail to acknowledge the difference between an earned benefit and a handout. It’s the military, not the post office. A retiree has sacrificed the best years of his life and yielded enormous control his life. along easy he’s worked insane hours, endured tremendous hardships and risked and limb. The juice isn’t worth the squeeze, financially speaking. The retirement is compensation for enormous work for often meager wages.

Now you have relaxed requirements so that even gang members join the military en masse to get easy money and learn how to fight. And they are allowed to do so.

One more thing: read a story by a guy who worked in an office with veteran’s benefits. He said he had never seen so many transvestites as when we worked with veterans’ affairs. They turn into transvestites to escape their lives, escape their actions and the actions of their fellow mercenaries. Think Bradley Manning, who turned transvestite in prison. They want to be someone else, and they are permanently screwed up in the head.

Flying in uniform has been required since the 1980s (back when I served).
Regarding the numerous references to the military as mercenaries on other quotes, I have been saying for decades that the political elite has treated us like that. It is not yet the mentality of those who are on the front line, but when it becomes so start looking for a Caesar or a Sulla. While the military may not be at its most effective level in some areas, it continues to get combat experience because of the idiocy of the elites. When thing break down the general officers (political animals) will be ignored. Majors and below will lead and they are still conservative. Check with Tom Kratman if you think other wise.

No need to put it in a mattress, buy a good fireproof safe with thick gauge steel and a manual dial lock (no batteries) and protect your investment against disaster. That’s really the only selling point with banks these days, a kind of “insurance” and a nice big steel vault (only filled with, tellingly, 10% of their total deposits on record, the rest being digits in a computer). For $700 or less you can have that same protection without giving a cent to these vultures. But yea, I agree otherwise.
A pro tip for those so inclined to militia-up: Paintball courses are a great place to start learning the footwork and intensity-control required for actual combat. They’re not perfect, and they’re only a start, but they’re a good start, cheap and teaches you real fast what does and doesn’t work when you’re getting shot at.

As a veteran of afghanistan, I didnt fight for god or country, or any of that bullshit. I joined and deployed for the experience of getting shot at and having the opportunity to kill someone. For most infantry marines, it’s pretty much the same exact thing, when I asked the guys why they joined, “I wanna kill people” was the answer about half the time.
Now that I’m done, and Im glad I did it by the way (def not one of these “i was in nam, i saw some shiiitt man! pity me!) Im definetely not going back, even if theres a draft. No russian or north korean called me a vanilla face, thats all I know.

That’s the main reason I joined up. I also wanted to serve my country, but… well, my country doesn’t really want to be served, it seems. That’s why I got out.
As much as I loved the army, I’m hesitant about recommending it to young men these days – not because of the danger, or the pointlessness of the wars, but because of the general feminism and idiocy present within it.

I saw a lot of that, believe me. We had sexual harrasment briefings about how to properly treat ladies…in an all male unit! I actually volunteered to serve with the marines so I wouldnt have to work in the hospital with the women lol (I was a navy corpsman, I had a choice) but now I believe women are only a decade, 2 at most, away from being fully “integrated” into combat units. I could not imagine a worse hell than a shitty field op where you cant even bond with your guys bcs you’re competing for the attentions of some u go grrrl type.
Pretty much the only reason to join now is to get some skills training and a steady paycheck. Do that, nod and smile at the diversity seminars, and then deuce out when your time is thru.

I joined for the same reasons. Well, I didn’t join so I could kill people, but I wanted to see how I would handle combat. I don’t take pleasure in killing people, but it doesn’t bother me in the slightest if they are threats.
The only time I actually enjoyed my enlistment was on deployment, when I was given responsibility, some degree of autonomy, and treated like a valuable member of a team. You know, like a human being who is good at his job. And I liked the action of course. I almost volunteered to extend my tour but the incoming unit was clearly led by clueless dipshits so I passed on that. You know a unit is shit when the commander does everything he can to shatter morale before missions even start. Unsurprisingly the guys who replaced us took heavy casualties.
In garrison I’m surprised I didn’t go postal having to deal with the retards above me. The only soldiers worth a shit that I knew who are still in have families. All the young enlisted guys I knew who were single or childless and highly competent got out ASAP. In contrast the fucking morons I knew invariably stayed in, and I got out in 2009, so at this point all of the upper enlisted is pretty much retarded.
Not only do I not recommend joining, I flat out discourage people from joining. I think you’d have to be completely nuts to join the military these days.

But, one woman refused all offers – until the bulldozers had cleared the land around her. The town harassed her through the courts – until the supreme court declared that under eminent domain she had to leave her home. As a last act of defiance, she painted her house black.
Well, that was that right – Cant fight city hall. Ah, but! The real estate bubble burst – the town’s project went belly-up – and to this day, there’s an ugly, weed covered lot with a black house in the middle of it.

Unless you served in a special forces/spec ops unit, the biggest threat which faced 99% of all infantry – types who served in Iraq or Afghanistan was sheer boredom.
If you doubt this, simply pick an Army or Marine infantry battalion at random and take a look at how many KIA’s the unit suffered over any 12-month period. The total will be stunningly low — if the unit took any casualties at all.
Compared to the kinds of losses the military suffered daily in Korea or Vietnam, the handful of casualties the US infantry battalions typically suffered in Iraq or Afghanistan wouldn’t even have hit the radar of any Korean War or Vietnam War – era battalion commander or regimental commander.
I get the fact that there were occasions when the fighting heated up, and the casualty rate spiked — but even then, the total number killed and wounded was nothing compared to earlier conflicts.
Kudos to naz for not playing the “man I’ve seen shit you wouldn’t believe” card.

although this is true, it’s overstated. Military medicine changed *dramatically* during OIF. The set-up of forward deployed military hospitals meant that ~10% of people wounded ended up dying. Previously, across many different countries in many theatres of war from Korea to just before Iraq, that number was 25%. The CSH set-up was revolutionary, and there’s literally dozens of thousands alive today because of it.

Yes and no. True, our casualty rates were WAY less than vietnam/korea/ww2, but you have to consider 3 things.
1) we were way better trained. most infantry battalions went through a year of training before they deployed, instead of guys being sent over as green doe eyed replacements like in vietnam.
2) the quality of medical care/technology improved, thus allowing for higher injury survival rates.
3) yes, afghanistan and iraq were actually not as bad as previous wars. in fact, i wouldnt even call my experience in afghanistan war, it was more like a police action. The two battalions I was with suffered about 10% casualties, which I would imagine would be similiar numbers that police forces suffer in rough areas when they actually do their job.
With that being said, there was a constant threat of IEDs, gunfights to a lesser extent. IEDs were the main enemy, and going 3 days without a squad in the platoon finding one (sometimes with their feet lol) was a rare occurence. The situation you’re describing where the infantry guys sit around is actually a pre-exit phenomenon in iraq after 2007 and afghanistan after 2013, where the combat units basically sit around on the main base as a quick reaction force when they’re really needed. But before that, yeah, shit was popping.

A note on police casualties: they are not even among the top ten most dangerous jobs. Contrary to what one might think from cop dramas. The majority of police never fire a gun in the field in their whole career. The majority of their casualties come from traffic accidents – crashing into the side of the road, because they drive like they own the road. I’m talking the U.S., of course. Some things are better there, like the right to defend yourself and the right to actually call yourself a conservative, but some things are really screwed up.

Injury rates were pretty high. Soldiers stitched together who would be better off dead. Harsh but in some cases true. It’s nice that a man with two legs blasted off gets to survive but his future expense is largely shouldered by the able bodied.
This is why I detest free care for gollywogs who get shot. At least the soldier signed a worthwhile contract.

It depends where you are in the military. If you’re in the Infantry, Ranger Batt, or Special Forces of some kind, generally everyone agrees with the concepts you see on sites like this. If you’re in a supply warehouse or support company then you really need to watch what you say because everything is extremely politically correct and you can destroy your career by saying the wrong thing.

If there was such a war – let’s call it the Patriotic War – it wouldn’t matter that the government had bigger guns. Masses of soldiers would switch sides. And the world economy would tank with the U.S. in a civil war, the U.S. economy would be gone, so there would be few left to operate those big guns.

As an American, my semi-auto rifle is every bit as deadly as their M4’s and M60’s and SAWs, and I have incentive to make my shots count. That and I am in a 110 man civilian “army” of gun owners, which makes the odds stack in my favor at 110:1.5. I don’t wear a uniform, I am indistinguishable from “innocent compliant citizens” and I know where their families live. Rumors of my defeat are greatly exaggerated.
Do the numbers, figure out the logistics and tactics, and you realize that “they” can only try to convince you that you’re defeated. Reality tells an entirely different story.

Our citizens are more traditional, but they all think of themselves as “Liberals” and vote for scumbags. Our immigrants are more educated, but the immigrants are flooding in nonetheless. Canadian women are less fat than Americans, but they’re just as bitchy. Our version of the IRS, Revenue Canada, is less dangerous, but guns and speech are more regulated.
It’s a mixed bag.

Great post, CH. It’s astounding how government acts here now. Due process is largely a quaint notion these days. Some years ago I lived in an apartment building where tenants came and went pretty frequently. One time I returned home to find a Summons (the document advising a defendant he has been sued) taped on the outside of the door to the building. I was taught in law school that a Summons must be personally served on a defendant, or upon a person of suitable age living in the defendant’s home. This type of (non)service has now become so common that it has acquired a name: garbage service.
I was also taught that we no longer have debtor’s prison here. But we do. In a number of states if you don’t have enough money to pay child support the judge will throw you in jail (The People’s Democrat Republic of Massachusetts).

(The mafia came back after the American invasion. Same as drugs.) An actual “war” on drug sellers would see them rounded up and put in prison camps, and not let out again. They would be forced to name where they got the drugs, and it would all quickly be rolled up. Black and Mestizo neighborhoods would be tested, with drug users also rounded up and forced to reveal where they got the drugs. (White neighborhoods wouldn’t be necessary. Any Whites using drugs would quickly stop when they saw this happening. Of course, if caught there would be no leniency for them either.) The drug cartels would flee immediately, those who weren’t caught. It would be over in much less than a year.
But that’s no good, say libertardians. They want the same as in Pakistan. There, drugs flow freely. They are officially banned, but in practice they are legal and easily available. And people die. They die in the tens of thousands every year. Family men sit in the streets in their suits, having saved their best clothes after selling the rest. They sit there staring after they have lost their homes and families because of drugs. They die in the streets of Karachi and their bodies are picked out of the rivers every morning.
That’s what you want, isn’t it? …Today I finished administering the sixth day of New York State Common Core assessments. I was a facilitator in a process that made my 10-year-old students struggle ,to the point of frustration, to complete yet another 90-minute test. I sat by as I watched my students attempt to answer questions today that were beyond their abilities. I knew the test booklets I put in front of them contained questions that were written in a way that 95 percent of them had no chance of solving. I even tried to give my students a pep talk, in hopes of alleviating their angst, when I knew damn well they didn’t stand a chance. Today I was part of the problem…

because the standardized testing is a fucking JOKE for white kids of AVERAGE intelligence. Like, my kid gets done with a 90 minute test in like 30 minutes and all of his classmates do too. My third grader reads at a “9th grade level” because, as I’ve posted, the standards are for blacks, 99% of whom can’t read even if they are in college. See Spot run. That’s the standard to read at a 5th grade level.

She had to have me repeat each of those elements 6 times because her brain literally could not process the information fast enough when I stated it in a clear sentence, and I was not speaking fast either. It went like this:
Me: Three crispy beef tacos to go, please.
Her: um uh, um whatchoo want?
Me: Three crispy beef tacos to go.
Her: Ok..tacos. How many?
Me: Three
Her: Okay… crunchy or soft?
Me: Crispy
Her: you want chicken?
Me: No, beef. Three crispy beef tacos to go.
Her: Okay. For here or to go?
Me: To go.
by the way this was not taco bell. it as a more “high end” mexican place that’s a popular lunch spot
this type of thing happens in millions of interactions every day….and we normal IQ people just have to “grin and bear it” while we work our slave jobs to pay for the EBT cards and be accused of racism and made fun of constantly if we turn on a TV.

Yeah, I’ve noticed this happening in our country for the last 22 years I’ve served in the military. It’s one of the main reasons why I’ve decided it’s time to retire and move onto something else.
I’ve noticed more and more of my brothers/sisters in arms retiring, leaving, about to get “downsized” buying large trucks and 5th wheels and getting off the grid. I’m about to be one of them.
Many of us have been training (and finding some joy) to feed metrosexuals and hipsters to the “walkers and biters” when the apocalypse kicks in.

Answer: Obama. You elect a moronic buffoon that didn’t grow up with a strong work ethic, never worked a REAL day in his life, and put him in charge of a Capitalist country that he hates, and watch the mayhem. I’m frankly surprised that a Civil war hasn’t broken out with the Federal Government trying to seize state assets – and state legislatures basically saying that they will “preserve and protect” their lands, and the Constitution with all of their force. All it will take is one or two shots, and it will quickly escalate. I wish it weren’t so, but when Fascists are taking over, you have to fight with everything you have for your freedom
I dare say that the result will be much different from that of the mid-1800’s. It will come down to the useless dead-beats against those that are presently being looted, and the looters while violent and having weapons have never had to fight for anything so will be the fertilizer of the next generation. I never thought one President could be so destructive to this nation, but I can admit when I’m wrong. And since there is no where else that the productive can escape to – we have to fight. It can be via elections – but with the “other” hordes being imported to vote Democrat – I dare say that more people will chose to vote from the roof-tops than from the ballot-box as it will be more effective. The military will quickly fracture with troops refusing to fire on Americans when given illegal orders, and those that are drone.
Of course the US is rocketing down the tubes – it has been on the way for the last 100 yrs.

Well, more precisely Obama is the figurehead, an idol worshipped by a hundred million campus people (and that’s just counting america). Those who actually run things are the permanent bureaucracy and their partners on the outside. The rest of the populus will, eventually, be ground down to work for their health insurance and a modest stipend at the virtual latifundia.
The interesting part will come when the bureaucracy starts falling apart and their respective peace keeping units tentatively face off and, dare we say it, fire on each other. You know, Department of Agriculture snipers against DOE SWAT. Better keep those drones and APCs polished, boys.

I would like to point out something in support of the Taco Bell cashier.
He’s probably got a sequence that he needs to type in on the register interface. It’s probably best that he breaks down exactly what you ordered and does it in a sequence that conforms to the input prompts on his register.
That way you actually get your order correctly. I prefer service staff to dot i’s and cross T’s. I see no reason why he shouldn’t be thorough. That way you get what you want, even if you need to repeat yourself. It sucks when you get to eating and you have the wrong stuff in the bag.
