Sex differences in personality are believed to be comparatively small. However, research in this area has suffered from significant methodological limitations. We advance a set of guidelines for overcoming those limitations: (a) measure personality with a higher resolution than that afforded by the Big Five; (b) estimate sex differences on latent factors; and (c) assess global sex differences with multivariate effect sizes. We then apply these guidelines to a large, representative adult sample, and obtain what is presently the best estimate of global sex differences in personality.
Methodology/Principal Findings
Personality measures were obtained from a large US sample (N = 10,261) with the 16PF Questionnaire. Multigroup latent variable modeling was used to estimate sex differences on individual personality dimensions, which were then aggregated to yield a multivariate effect size (Mahalanobis D). We found a global effect size D = 2.71, corresponding to an overlap of only 10% between the male and female distributions. Even excluding the factor showing the largest univariate ES, the global effect size was D = 1.71 (24% overlap). These are extremely large differences by psychological standards.
Significance
The idea that there are only minor differences between the personality profiles of males and females should be rejected as based on inadequate methodology.
Sex-based personality differences are large and widespread, and result from competing evolutionary pressures placed on men and women.
In addition to their direct influences on mating processes, personality traits correlate with many other sexually selected behaviors, such as status-seeking and risk-taking (see e.g., [20], [34], [35]). Thus, in an evolutionary perspective, personality traits are definitely not neutral with respect to sexual selection. Instead, there are grounds to expect robust and wide-ranging sex differences in this area, resulting in strongly sexually differentiated patterns of emotion, thought, and behavior – as if there were “two human natures”, as effectively put by Davies and Shackelford [15].
Two human natures (you could argue for a lot more if you include racial differences in personality). This is the reason game works as a concept and as a practical guide. Women are very different, emotionally and psychologically, than are men, and game is a system which leverages this sex-specific personality contrast. Think about it: If men and women were completely alike, whatever worked for women in the dating market would also work equally well for men. But two minutes in the jungle are all you need to notice that the working strategies men and women employ to find and attract mates are very different.
The study is worth reading in full, especially the authors’ methodology of breaking down the Big Five personality traits into smaller components, and the importance of measuring latent variables.
So where do men and women most differ in personality traits?
In univariate terms, the largest differences between the sexes were found in Sensitivity, Warmth, and Apprehension (higher in females), and Emotional stability, Dominance, Rule-consciousness, and Vigilance (higher in males). These effects subsume the classic sex differences in instrumentality/expressiveness or dominance/nurturance.
Feminists and equalists will try to ignore, suppress, or distort findings about sex differences like those in this study, because the notion that there is an archetypical female personality and an archetypical male personality that is biological in construct is a stake through the heart of everything they desperately want to believe about human sexual nature and the impolite and inegalitarian forms it often takes.
How is an ugly feminist supposed to exhort normal women to “lean in” when normal women don’t have any desire nor disposition nor, for that matter, talent to do so? It is a pickle.

I actually see the rules-conscious trait as a compliment. My husband sets a very strict set of rules and standards for himself that he follows to the letter. He expects the rest of his family to do the same but always sets a high bar by being a fantastic role model.

Rule-consciousness isn’t about submissiveness (which is what you are describing.) It’s more closely related to duty — it’s recognizing social systems and order/ranking, and abiding by them. The personality systems normally rank you lower on it for “Expedient, nonconforming, disregards rules, self-indulgent” and higher on it for “Rule-conscious, dutiful, conscientious, conforming, moralistic, staid, rule bound”.
At the risk of infuriating the glittery hoo-haw brigade even more, it’s really summed up in “A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do.”

A few years ago a major retailer had a t-shirt that mocked homeschoolers. Homeschooling activists made a righteous stink and the shirts were recalled.

I’ve recently taken my kids (a 4-years old boy and a 3-years old girl) to visit their grandma. There in the attic I’ve found an old box of toys I used to play with : plastic indians and cowboys. I gave the box to my children and the following happened.
– The boy started to use them as intended with indians and cowboys slaughtering each other over a treasure chest.
– The girl on the other hand used an indian bearing a tomahawk to “brush the horse’s hair” and started making stories about the horses being friends and going to school together.

I checked other sources and pretty much everyone now agrees that men use more of their gray matter ( they have more than women do ) while women use more of their white matter ( they have more than men do ).
Imaging studies show that when men say a word out loud they only use a tiny part of their brain, but when women say that same word out loud they use many areas of their brains.
In other words not only are our brains different but we use them differently.
Only an angry feminist would deny these facts ( someone should study feminist brains…)

For women, its a “fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me” thing. I think its easy to be attracted to a player (they’re like lovable little puppies!) but hard to respect one. Someone I was once close to had this revolving door and gave me a look behind the curtain. I remember recapping our weekends and he rather sheepishly told me he’d slept with three different women. I just laughed and laughed. I mean, he just has a huge heart and he was so good at game he had more women than he knew what to do with. It actually became sort of a curse for him. So, it depends whether the girl in question has any prior experience with a player.

I think the authors were making a diplomatic concession to the PC line there in order to soften the blow of the shiv to come in the rest of the paper. The people with Y chromosomes
1. Blue shirt- Undoubtedly the most groomed specimen of the group. Note the high-pitched voice, dainty wrists (with bead bracelet), seemingly-meticulously cultivated stubble, sculpted eyebrows, painstakingly done hair, and buttoned-up color. If he’s not a queer, he was certainly dressed by one (perhaps the wonderful pack of fags at GQ). He has the inflection of a valley girl.
2. Pink shirt- Possibly the most masculine of the men, although the trophy for that is rather small and unimpressive. Again, note the womanish wrists, the blond teased hair, and the lack of anything easily identifiable as a jawline. If you want to see the Gosling stare minus the masculine charm, pause at 0:20. The pink shirt isn’t doing him any favors without a stand-out man presence.
3. Dark Hoodie- Pudgy baby-face, unkempt greasy hair. He’s definitely not effeminate, but he’s a strong candidate for Peter Pan manboy syndrome. Again, what’s with the beaded bracelet? Have some self-respect, man.
The people without Y chromosomes
1. White blouse- Look at the jaw. Now back at me. Now back to the jaw. Now back to me. She looks like a hybrid between the actual Jaws and a chipmunk. That thing beats out Rumer willis for bad jawdom, and that’s no mean feat. Were she a woman I met on the street, I would truly have to put away the urge to ask her if she had her wisdom teeth recently removed. No feminine bone structure to speak of, thick wrists and fingers (moreso than the men…yikes!). The room in the blouse hides what is most likely an unimpressive lumpy physique with no cosine curves and instead just bulges. At 1:21, you can see her at her most attractive, doing the pursed lips which elongates her sack-shaped head and gives the suggestion of a chin. And it still leaves much to be desires.
2. Violet blouse- What can make white blouse look good? This one. We begin with the ghost of a moustache gracing her upper lip, a chin that you could level a painting off of, and the most masculine jawline I’ve seen since I watched the latest Jason Statham movie. Actually, Imagine this woman bald with an 8-o-clock shadow and rippling pectorals. That looks like Jason Statham. I’m absolutely serious. Unfortunately her physique doesn’t seem quite up to par as she too mastered the flowing blouse method of refusing to confirm her obtuseness (though there is something to be said for chubsters dressing with dignity…it means they have the good sense to be ashamed to be fat). She has the kind of broad shoulders you imagine a bearded be-flanneled man slinging an axe over.

in other words, a decently comprehensive personality test would be able to infer the sex of the test taker 90% of the time, or 100% of the time if the 10% most ‘gender ambiguous’ (ie tomboys and sissy boys) were excluded.

I have been reading very much about Jungology recently.
This is a good introduction to the different functions.

When males and females take the tests there is a large gender disparity between types. Not so much between introversion and extroversion, but between extraverted feeling and thinking, there is big disparity. I am sceptical of how correct Myers briggs descriptions are, but Jung’s description of different functions and how they play out in women and men, is fascinating. If you are interested in this, it is an informative read.
I will not continue about that, as I am sure it will bore people. But it is very obvious to most people who use their brain, that males and females have vastly different personalities. And it is normal, it serves a biological purpose.
Actually it is quite frightening that any human of average intelligence could deny that male and female’s personalities are so different, as Science has given much rational and logic explanations for why. First, we have the obvious differences in physical anatomy, there are also hardwired differences between the male and female brain, there are completely different levels of each hormone also. And the great thing is, it all serves a purpose! Men and women ARE different because we were made for different purposes.
I am curious how somebody could say that gender is social construct. How bizarre. Even though the ancient scientists and psychologists did not have the scientific equipment that have today, their observations often seem more astute in light of the modern idea of men and women being the same.

I worked with children age 2-6 in a nursery for some time.
If people do not believe males and females are very different, they must go to work with children and they will easily understand.
My little boys were adorable, but it was clear they had agressive streak from early on. Maybe agressive is the wrong word, because it was not in a bad or cruel way. But they liked to tease a lot, and the girls would build houses from blocks, and then 2 of my little boys would say. “One, two, three!,” and smash the whole thing down. They were not violent in any way, they just liked to hit down blocks. The boys were also much more energetic where as the girls would sit and paint.But the girls had much more arguments between themselves. I can say with confidence, that the boys were not as argumentative, but just liked to be active and hit down blocks and lego.
What fascinated also was, that the boys seemed to need more female attention. They were surprisingly clingy when they were upset. Where as the girls were clingy when they were telling on one of the other girls that “the other girl was being mean” or something.
It was generally easier to bond with the little boys than with the girls.
To work with children is very eye opening to the gender differences in personality. The differences in personality develop very early on.

But some things do not add up, with that article.
For example, why are men and women jealous and possessive if evolutionary we are intended to be not monogamous? What is purpose of jealousy and possessiveness if we humans are designed to be polygamous. I question it.
Or if men are naturally polygamous, and women naturally hypergamous, (Hypergamy could translate to polygamy), why are the studies on men’s libdo lowering in monogamous relationship, and not womens?
Very interested to hear somebody’s take on this. Because in my opinion, it is not natural.

The deeper we get into our post-modern, post-feminist world, the more apparent it’s becoming that the progressive liberals were wrong about how men and women work. This is their last refuge, the only way they can get their equations to balance. Their ideas don’t work but their ideas are correct, so something else is screwing things up. So, “social construct.”
They don’t really know what they mean by this, just that it HAS to be true or all else is invalid.

I understand what you mean, but it is infuriating that the notion just LACKS logic. And people believe it.

What worth is a idea if it does not work practically? At best it is fantasy, at worst destructive. And I would argue that their tactics not their ideas DO work, else would there be so much feminism? It just does not work in the sense that it is lies and lacking logic. But it works in the sense that it decieves people via emotion. We all love emotion sometimes, it appeals to us in a selfish way sometimes.
There are some theories/ideas of feminism that at first I understand. My reaction is an emotional one, and I say, “yes that is correct!”. Then by my some miracle I understand the lack of logic in it all. When we face cold hard fact which is able to refute what feminism claims, very easily, whether you look at it from Biblical, evolutionary, biological perspective. etc.
In some way I guess we must feel sorry for the progressives and feminists, after all, how smart can they be when they choose to blind themself to rationale? Gender being a social construct claim would be laughable if it not so sad.

This differs from a male’s harem in that they aren’t necessarily putting out with each man on a consistent or exclusive basis, yet they keep several ‘balls’ in the air as potential suitors. This evaluation technique would make sense in light of their hypergamous and instinctually rational approach to mate selection. But it could also be something as superficial as they are mimicking what they see on the bachelorette?
It is important to differentiate this behavior from typical female use of beta orbiters that are not in consideration as potential mates. These are men that they bang, yet keep it on the down low. it seems to me they do this in order to keep all possible options open for a higher status man that may come along.
Anyone else seen this? All three examples in my experience have been good looking women in their early 30s. Perhaps its just slutty behavior from women who are no longer looking for a possible mate?

These are not mutually exclusive choices.
Some of both can be true depending on where you live.

The key thing to watch is when you have a massive spike in non-payment of federal, state and local income taxes.
The meltdown of IRS credibility with the middle class is a huge flashing signal that change will be very soon.
If one million taxpayers who own money to the IRS/state/local government decide not to file for 2014, the there isn’t enough lawmen to arrest them all, let alone process them through the judicial system.
