Reader Mel Gibson watched a few minutes of last night’s Democrat debate, and came away with an astute observation regarding this photo of the candidates standing together on stage.
All with passive and weak body posture – cover genitals, smile like a submissive chimp. Who’s that guy on the left? He’s the only one who looks like he isn’t a pansy.
That’s Jim Webb on the far left (heh). And yes, he’s the only one who has a non-shitlib face and non-shitlib body language. And not coincidentally he’s probably the least insane of the Dem leftoids running for president.
Reminder: Clasping your hands in front of your crotch to hide your impudent manhood from the world (and this includes Hillary) is a tell of submission and weak betatude. I don’t remember Donald Fucking Trumpening ever standing in this manner at a major public speaking event, and I doubt he ever will. (But I bet ¡Jabe! was born with his hands cradling his frank and refried beans.)
Should a Trump admin actually happen, I see Webb as a good candidate for SecDef.

Jim Webb has no business in that party. I get what he thinks he’s doing: he thinks he’s standing up for the white working man, and I respect that. But those days are very, very dead in the Democratic party. I frankly wish that the SJW’s would eat him alive. That way, he could finally wake up and see the lunacy he’s surrounding himself with.

Webb impressed me, for a Democrat. And I think he betrayed a teachable mind last night. He stopped asking for more time and just started bulldozing like the others.

It has to be a threat with some credibility for that to happen. People say they want Obozo to get assassinated thousands of times a day online…..its not something they pay much attention to.
They receive hard-copy death threats for major leaders on a daily basis. Someone who took the time to do that shows a greater level of initiative and brazenness and they are the ones who get visits. It occasionally happens for internet comments, but a backhanded “I’d beat up Hillary” comment on a rando article just isn’t taken that seriously.

Any threat is pursued. It may end in an FBI agent taking 30 minutes to investigate, but chances are, the FBI now knows where TOST lives, his phone number, and has researched whether more threats have been made.

Putting your hands behind your back is a good confidence pose and it’s become my default stationary pose. Just make sure that you’re not grabbing one wrist with the opposite hand when you do that; that’s more of a defensive posture than a confident one. One benefit of this pose is that it keeps your hands out of the way and gives you something to do with them. Not having something to do with your hands is a major source of social awkwardness and hence betaness.

One weird trick – a lot of people put their arms across their chest when in conversation, and in that instance is a very defensive posture. You’re covering yourself up. So when you feel fidgety and want to cross your arms, instead put them on your hips and get wide (not like that sassy bitch who tried to trump The Donald the other day) and lean a bit (like Contrapposto), or behind your back, as you mentioned.

A person’s posture or stance can also tell you a lot about how interesting, or boring, they are to listen to when they speak.
I particularly liked what Lew Rockwell said about the debate in this context: The Dem debate was a reminder of what the GOP debate would be like without Trump: people you wouldn’t want mowing your lawn calling for more government death and destruction, and more government theft, and putting you to sleep while doing it.

Clinton and O’Malley have long been out of court rooms, and were never big time, long term lawyers to begin with; the law was just a launching point for their political aspiration. The habit wouldn’t still be there if it weren’t ingrained by psychology.
BTW, Webb shook John Kerry’s hand and “forgave” him for all the lies Kerry spewed about Vietnam vets. Webb long ago threw away his masculine bonafides in order to attempt a presidential run.

My point wasn’t that attorneys “subjugate” themselves to the judge. That is just standard lawyer pose that all lawyers do when a judge enters the courtroom. And, Dude is right. The more assertive you are in court, the better your chances of winning. Judges are just lawyers themselves and if you are bold and pretend you know what you are talking about, judges will usually buy it like anyone else.

The last is probably George HW Bush as a fighter pilot. Other recent presidents either didn’t serve or had softer assignments which likely didn’t see combat. With a decline in patriotism and ethnic cohesion, military service is no longer seen as high status and is thus not socially or politically expedient for noble WASP families. It has become the poor and uneducated being duped into risking their lives for anti-American interests. As we’ve moved away from military service as an unspoken prerequisite for Commander-in-Chief and towards chickenhawkedness, we’ve also gotten worse at picking the right wars, and worse at ending them.
