Actually, this might be the time for nativism. It was a thing in the late 1700’s and early 1800’s if I remember correctly, but the U.S. was too young at the time, and nativism was an Anglo-Saxon thing. It is from before White was an over-inclusive multikult that I refer to as “white”, and was mostly used against other Europeans. Ben Franklin was a nativist, and even after it sort of died out as a trend in the U.S. due to more non Anglo immigration, some Anglo-Saxons held onto the sentiment.
Nowadays though, American means something different than it did back then. For better or worse, we are a multi ethnic nation, but not really so “multicultural”, and European Americans lead the way in political trends, at least at the moment. This position can be used to hate on everyone else, or to make a kind of ideological umbrella that those who aren’t under it, are the enemy.
It’s been done before, and can be done again, but this time around it needs to be done carefully so that you don’t break people’s identity. I believe that this breakage has a lot to do with people’s forgetfulness and lack of awareness when a damaging trend (like over-integration, which led to lack of freedom of association) is underway.

Nicole – the ideological umbrella of which you speak is already there, it is one of the core tenets of the western cultural tradition, and as an especially celebrated and elevated tenet of americanism, and this ideological umbrella of which I speak, is obviously the idea of the egalitarian (egalitarian defined as the equal fundamental existential worth of individuals).
It is not just an idea, it is an emotive disposition. If emotively felt, it automatically predisposes those under it’s thrall to the golden rule behavior. It instills community trust. It probably has it’s ancient source with respect to innate predispositions for it, among those that were shaped by darwinian selection dynamics via very harsh environmental conditions that would favor for survival those that could feel this way, thus allowing them to be more open to group outsiders (though all humans also have a deep rooted innate fear of outsiders), to see their social survival group as a meritocracy, instilling more trust that was necessary to be more collaborative in order to survive etc. All human ancestry has probably been subject to this dynamic, as evidenced by several bottlenecks in our collective genetic heritage, that would give credence to very harsh environmental conditions having reoccurred numerous times within human prehistory (with associated population reductions). The most recent of which may have been the ice age conditions suffered by the ancestors of northern europeans (thus northern europeans probably are flavored by traits that support the egalitarian emotion a bit differently than others, but the main point being that all human ancestry has been subject to similar environmental shaping within various episodes of prehistory, so the appreciation for the egalitarian is probably innate within all ethnicities, but not as emphasized, normatively, in some ethnicities vs.others).
Nicole – you make a very important point though – the ancient innate emotive attributes of the egalitarian include the feeling that those that do not share the egalitarian ideology are the enemy. This is necessarily part of the ancient egalitarian dynamic. People would have to choose (and have the ability) to master themselves socially, inhibit themselves when necessary, to have forbearance around impulse control etc. They would need to choose (and have enough self control) to be part of the egalitarian group. The egalitarian therefore, became the feeling/idea that there is no “Them vs. Us”, because we are all “Us”, except for those that choose not to (or simply can’t) belong as belied by their actions.
This egalitarian emotive disposition therefore (especially for those of northern european stock) has at it’s heart a sharp dagger of violence saved for those that choose to show themselves as one who cannot be trusted to uphold the greater good. Back in ice aged times I think what would naturally happen among these northern europeans, is that when the community trust was betrayed, the betrayer would be banished (which probably meant slow death) or killed (more likely killed). There is a big difference in the emotive disposition of northern european men and women in this aspect of the egalitarian – it was the men that would do this culling (killing), probably in the dead of night, not to be spoken of again. I’m 56, and through experience I have come to the conclusion that at least western women of european ancestry do not understand this about their men and are very conflicted by it when shown evidence for it (they are both repulsed and attracted by it). For european men, it is better to leave this male aspect for brutal righteous violence as an unknown nebulous undercurrent for which their women can spin their own designs around. For these northern people, that is as it always has been I think.
When we see the current circumstances of warring ideologies through the lense of what I described above – everything becomes much clearer, In the west, due to the unprecedented success, the Feminine Imperative is now in ever rising ascendancy. The western women see the egalitarian bereft of it’s enforcing power, without it’s backbone of violence, because they are probably innately partially blind to this (as described above). So we get the childish political correctness of the femcentric now prevalent in western culture. Western women (and so many western men have now been conditioned so, due to the prevalent Feminine Imperative) think that everyone should automatically enjoy the fruits of the egalitarian, because they believe in this principle in a very shallow way, and in their childish way think that since they believe, it must be so (at least within their own communities). They can’t seem to grasp that the egalitarian is just as dependent on the backbone of potential violence to dissenters that act on their dissent, within their community, as it does on the international scene. They don’t see the police as a modern proxy for the violent backbone of the egalitarian, but instead seem to think of the police as a paternal or perhaps fraternal influence that would harm no one but only guide those it interfaces with towards good behavior (I’ve been on the receiving end of police interference in my life, and if you are a man, you cannot help but see that the police wield power by the threat of violence to you, if not physically, then by way of their predisposition to try to fuck your life up if they judge that appropriate). Northern european women don’t get this about the police.
So we get some of the Islamic guys (a minority but a pretty big minority of middle eastern and north african muslims) in europe telling everybody now going on 30 years, how they despise the egalitarian, how they think we are weak, how they spit in our faces with their disrespect at every turn, how our women are decadent (but sexy) so deserve to be used by them, the real men, etc. etc. And our women just think, – oh we just need to show them the error of their ways with our christian love. This is naive in the extreme.
Europe and the west in general has always had alot of people that do not prescribe to the egalitarian. People that have impulse control issues, or just aren’t emotionally disposed to appreciate the egalitarian. We have stopped killing these (mostly men) a long time ago. Now we jail them, or punish them in other ways, or allow life paths for which their tendencies can act more as a boon than an hardship on everyone else. Our carrying capacity for this is full though (and has been for a long time).
The Islamics who have shown to be non-egalitarians come from parts of the world where the egalitarian has never been upheld to near the same degree as in the west. Distrust and either cheating or coercively dominating of others is more the order of business in these cultures. So there is going to be more of the non-egalitarian ilk within their own communities, and furthermore, in the face of western scrutiny, can easily hide within such communities imported into europe from these middle eastern and north african nations (because they won’t get called out for their attitudes as much as non-egalitarians within northern european communities would get called out, because the dissimilarity from others within their community is not as large).
I’m from Canada and we have alot of immigration in Canada (this has never really stopped or really slowed down much since the earliest days – just the demographic mix has changed alot). Immigrants are quite heavily vetted. Immigrants come from pretty much everywhere. In Canada it sort of works (maybe partly because the country is still lowly populated). In the fairly large western city I live in there is no where I can’t go on foot. If that started happening in Canada (no-go zones) I think we would all start to freak out (Trudeau better continue to have this immigration done right, but by the way he talks he seems to be under the spell of the Feminine Imperative himself, he seems to be naive about this stuff, time will tell – he does have a reputation for taking advice from those around him, so I hope he surrounds himself with smart people). I’m not in europe, so I am only guessing but I think:
– Europe needs some small population growth, and so probably should continue to allow immigration, but Europe is getting too much immigration from their closest still developing neighbors, so there probably isn’t enough worldwide diversity of immigration
– they obviously are doing a poor job of vetting immigrants. Apparently there are no-go muslim ghettos. People should only be allowed to come if they already possess the right skills and/or assets (language, professional or career skills in short supply in the economy, or bring lots of financial assets with them etc. with obligated promises to invest in the economy, etc.). It is wrong to let people come when there is not a proper fit for them to find success. This is not helpful to anyone then.
– since they have done such a poor vetting job, they have no choice put to slow it way down (not speed immigration from these areas up!), so as to monitor whether their new vetting policies do lead to better assimilation
– since the muslim world is already subject to the less than stellar prescription to the egalitarian on which european culture depends, as I have described above, people from this background should be vetted especially comprehensively. I would suggest more stringent hoops to jump through, and a longer timeline, to citizenship, for muslims vs. non-muslims. This is only being realistic and also sending the correct signals to the muslim world (there has to be consequences for Islam being so far behind in secularization, in cleaning up their act so to speak. Incentivication is a useful political tool if used wisely).
– they obviously have a home grown Islamic terrorism problem. They need to figure out who is associated with the terrorist ideology, who of these they can deport, especially among virulent imams they must have there, and update their hate laws so as to jail (and try to rehabilitate) the rest (I’m not much for hate laws, freedom of speech and all that, but since they have already caved on that, they might as well ensure these laws actually work to Europe’s advantage)
– their politicians need to cut the Politically Correct crap, and start discoursing in an realistic but even handed way, like I have outline above. This should be easy, just pay homage to the egalitarian, in the realistic way vs. the shallow politically correct way that they have been prescribing to up to now, and the people will have to see the light – it is just so obvious. As a side benefit, this change in discourse would force a reexamination of the remarkable immaturity of the Feminine Imperative the west is being choked on right now. This juncture of confusion in their native populations, is actually a golden opportunity for intelligent and savvy politicians in Europe to turn this around now.

Yes, the egalitarian emotive disposition is very easily manipulated, by a person’s past experiences, and current circumstances (especially by the cultural environment of how the “Them vs. Us” meme is interpreted). The reason for this, that the emotive disposition towards the egalitarian (collaboration with others based on a deep feeling of trust, which is based on deep appreciation for the mutual respect), can so easily be manipulated is because it is in conflict with other human innate traits that we all have (such as our deeply rooted innate suspicion of outsiders, as I mentioned above).
My viewpoint, as outlined above, is that western civilization has been based on a tendency for northern europeans to expand the definition of the “Us”, and to test the “Usness” of others, via trying to find out whether the other’s emotive disposition also supports the expanded definition. This dynamic results in the egalitarian usurping the “tribal”, as the ascendant ideology. It starts to become, – “can I trust you because we have a mutual respect that is strong and won’t be broken”, instead of – “I should just unquestioningly trust you simply because you are in my clan”. You can see how life and death ice-aged tribulations could shape people in this direction, and then how this tendency, under subsequent more favorable environmental conditions, could favor larger and larger organizations of people, resulting finally in a civilization
But since the egalitarian disposition is in tension with our tribal dispositions, it’s ascendant hold within the culture at large is extremely tenuous, and must be fostered and protected, if we expect that we should continue to enjoy the fruits of more nuanced, subtle, and increasing collaboration, of which the juggernaut that is now humanity, now depends upon to quite a high degree, I would argue.
If you agree with the above, then note that the current cultural environment of how the “Them vs. Us” meme is interpreted, is getting quite dangerous, because it has been fragmented into the Politically Correct camp, which is a duplicitous stand-in for the egalitarian (a fake version), vs. a revision to a more tribal viewpoint (which, because of humanity’s natural in-species proclivity for perceiving in-species diversity, can be sliced and diced 1,000 different ways).
I think a more equanimical view of the egalitarian (getting back to the root of how it arose and therefore what it in fact is), is desperately called for now.
I am getting more and more freaked out, because I have been discussing these ideas re the egalitarian all over the place, for the past few months now, and I am blown away by the utter confusion around this concept (within both the left and the right). I am 56, and was of the assumption my whole life that a deep understanding of the egalitarian, was appreciated by at least a large minority of the western populace, but now that I am drilling down on this hard, I am reconsidering if it is as large a minority as I once thought. This freaks me out, because if we don’t change course about appreciating the more equanimical definition of the egalitarian underpinnings of our western culture, very very bad things will start to happen eventually (it doesn’t take much of an imagination to see this). I don’t want that.

So, when condemned to traverse the wastelands of Abroad we carry the Monarch’s passport, which used to be a fine dark-blue hardcover book with a large gilt Royal Crest, wherewith to intimidate lesser breeds without the law (now it’s a poxy little soft maroon thing, like a credit card holder).
About one’s person at all times, because foreigners are inveterate thieves.
And because Continental police like nothing better than pulling over right-hand-drive cars, in the hope of a few fines for various imaginary infractions of their visibly non-existent traffic regulations.
You can’t even get a hotel room without it (well except in chill, ZFG places like Belgium. God love ’em).
I expect sketchy-looking brown or black dudes, who are (with a deal of justification, I might say) regularly hassled to fuck by the gendarmerie will carry some sort of ID in an attempt to stave off being shoved in the back of the van for a special massage down the station. Not necessarily real ID, just the best bet at seeming credible, a bit like buying underage liquor. And if you don’t have an EU state card/NI number, or wish to conceal one’s actual citizenship, fake passport it is, as it’s a PITA for the cops to check with the relevant foreign govt. on the side of the road, or up a dark alley, and they need to move on quickly to a better prospect, who might actually have some cash.

Americans don’t tend to carry or really even think about passports unless we’re going overseas. When they ask to see your papers in The Peoples of Color Republic, we show a state driver’s liscense.

You don’t need passport if you’re an EU citizen to go anywhere in Europe. You do need to have id though anywhere you go. I prefer traveling with my passport because it’s easier to scan at those automatic customs terminals. The Schengen area has nothing to do with the identification you need.

Mmm. Just so. But, as a brit, apart from my Nectar card, my driver’s licence and my RAC membership, it’s all I’ve got, being a free man and all that. The crucial item is the reciprocal EU health insurance card, which I have along with the passport, as that’s how it seems to work.
Otherwise the Frogs etc, will quite happily shrug and drive off in the ambulance as one’s family charcoals slowly in the wreck. Giving my half-century-plus old medical number is no good, as it seems to have been quietly dropped even here by the NHS. I just read on Yahoo news that now 7 governors from 7 different states are saying they will refuse to take in Syrian refugees because it is too dangerous since Syria does not really keep much record on its citizen and it is even hard to say if one is truly who they say they are.

Australia started stripping dual nationals of their Aussie citizenship months ago and then deporting them if they had done a year or more in jail.
About a hundred of them appealed their deportation and were sent to immigration detention off shore where they rioted last week.

If the locals do not want something to happen, and are willing to do without the federal funding, it just won’t happen. They can try to do things sideways, but if the people are prepared for the fight, then they really can’t do anything.
Talk to anyone in the local government of Beaumont, Texas. They are among the most visible opponents of forced integration in the U.S. right now…both the European and African Americans there.
It’ll be good for them to see that someone is paying attention, and they can tell you some of what they’re going through.
Some others at the city and state level are doing what they do on the downlow, and arranging things so that there would be an inability to enforce the federal policies. If you smell some sanity, speak up as much as you can while staying under the radar, and eventually they’ll be able to come out of the closet.
Just be careful out there.

I kind of lost all wish to be diplomatic about this last year when, after four months of nearly daily Ukraine news, most Americans still couldn’t find Ukraine on a map. And it was shown that the more they favored “American military intervention” in Ukraine, the farther away were their guesses. They placed it in Britain, in France, in Africa, in the Middle East, in India, in China, even in South America, Alaska, and some smack in the middle of the U.S. It was incredible. Arbiter – this is the confusing part to me about the whole mess. Is there real worthwhile incentives for the U.S. to be so deeply involved in the middle east (because there sure is a whole host of disincentives)?
It seems like the military cost is so high that the economic benefit doesn’t outweigh it. But perhaps I’m wrong about that. They have oil and so have an incentive to exploit, develop and sell it at some price. If less was spent military-wise, and such funds redirected elsewhere in the economy, could that alleviate potential for oil price shocks that may occur without military interventions (given that under such scenario the U.S. would still possess a mighty threat of military intervention, so there still would be an incentive for the arabs and friends not to get carried away with being dickheads about using the oil price as cudgel, especially when there then wouldn’t be an ideological reason for them to do so, because U.S. presence would be much more limited under such scenario).
I do understand alot of U.S. policy in the middle east occurred within the context of the cold war. But why didn’t the U.S. just apologize to everyone after the Soviets were defeated (hey we didn’t blow everybody up, we didn’t let the Soviet’s either, middle east was at play for that dynamic, you guys didn’t fair too badly, we will leave you alone now, let’s now just be regular business partners oil-wise)? The Chinese seem able to do this sort of thing.
Bush 1 probably should have just let Saddam Hussein continue to wreak his havoc instead of doing the first gulf war. Clearly the middle east has to sort out what is to be done about their rabid tendencies all by themselves. There would probably be even more blood spilled over the last 25 years in the middle east than there has been with the U.S. interventions, but at least it wouldnt’ be blood on the hands of the U.S. And this perspective isn’t cynical – it really is the way it is eventually going to turn out anyway – it is a middle east problem and they will have to solve it themselves even if it means much more killing. It is clear the west really can’t do too much about this. Ultimately they will have to discharge their rabid element themselves. The world will be better for it when they finally achieve this. Their Islamic ideology will have to be overhauled for the secular, for them to obtain the possibility of becoming real partners of the other nations at any rate. Holy wars in the middle east may be the only road for this to occur unfortunately. The west definitely should have no part of that.
So if I am not too far off in my ponderings above, then does that mean it really just comes down to the Israel issue then? That was a big mistake picking sides like that. How is the U.S going to dis-entangle itself from that one? If they don’t this doesn’t look good at all.

I agree with you that we should stop bombing them for idiotic short term goals with no strategic objectives, but the reality is that America needs to either mind terrorism or not, instead of minding some terrorism insofar as it serves its short term ends. AL Quaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan during the 80s or various factions in Libya and Syria now. EU countries shouldn’t have acted like vassals and backed all the north African dictators because the current migrant insanity was predictable. This being said, we need to learn that terrorism is on the rise because we don’t return the favor just like piracy is on the rise because we no longer flatten the coasts of pirate countries. What France should have done is broadcast that Raqqa won’t exist in a week and that it should be evacuated after which they should have carpet bombed it and say that the next time a terrorist attack against France happens, the warning won’t exist anymore. If you hide in civilian areas behind women and children, we will kill all of them too. This way their civilians would resist isis too because in this way, they acquiesce to isis because isis forces them to while we don’t force them to fight terrorists by bombing them along with the terrorists. War should be done only by those with the stomachs for it because doing war in this pussy way is worse for everyone involved. Outright nuking Saddam’s bunker would have cost less Iraqi lives than the idiocy America decided to do in Iraq.

I am sorry whenever an innocent person is killed. I can’t imagine what the families of those who lost loved ones in France must be feeling. I also think that the way the situation has been framed is different than when people frame discussions about violence committed by white people against other white people. During WWII, France was nearly destroyed by the German Nazis (white people), but the US didn’t treat German people or German-Americans the way they treated Japanese Americans even. I wonder if this is a prediction for what’s to come for Syrian immigrants and Syrian-Americans…?
During Oradour-sur-Glane, 642 French people were murdered by Nazis (other white people) by the way.

According to the wire services, Russia sent the following —
As initially reported by Reuters, a US official has confirmed that Moscow has conducted a significant number of strikes in Syria using both sea-launched cruise missiles and long-range bombers.
The Russian MoD said 25 long-range bombers took part in the raid: 5 x Tu-160s, 6 x Tu-95MS and 14 x Tu-22M3.
According to one our sources who wishes to remain anonymous, the long-range bombers the Russian Air Force has used against ground targets in Syria early in the morning on Nov. 17 were Tu-22M Backfire strategic bombers.
The aircraft were allegedly launched from Mozdok airbase, in Ossetia, where as many as 6 Tu-22s were spotted on a recent deployment.
Remains of a KH-555 missile wreck were found in Syria: considered that this type of air-launched missile is mainly carried by Tu-95 Bear and Tu-160 Blackjack bombers (Tu-22s have been tested with the KH-555 but full integration is not completed or at least unknown), the long-range bombers that launched the attack on ground targets using those missiles may have been the Tu-95s or Tu-160s flying alongside the Backfires.
The Tu-160 Blackjack is 30% larger than the American B-1 bomber.
The Tu-95 is a turboprop equivalent of a B-52.
The Tu-22MU Backfire is a supersonic medium bomber built to carry a pair of massive anti-ship missiles to kill Nimitz class carriers.
Any one of these planes could carry as much payload as the 10 French tactical jets.
For the Russians, collateral damage from these attacks is a feature, not a drawback.

Given that nobody gives a shit about international law anymore(Israel has been violating the fourth Geneva convention for decades, America violates the sovereign airspace of other countries etc; a side note, the French are violating international law with their bombing in Syria too), if I was Putin I’d flatten the entire city of Raqqa and the message will be that those who aid those who do terrorism against Russia either actively or indirectly by providing them with cover among civilians won’t have schools, won’t have mosques, won’t have houses. The hilarity is that given the rationale of the dune coon apologists that they do it because of colonialism and whatnot, I’d say I’m doing it because of terrorism and that it’s their fault.

What I find comical about the whiny German politician is that that’s how the leftist jackboots either civilian or uniformed(any police man that imprisoned someone for hate speech) behaved to silence everyone else too. I wouldn’t hang them though, I’d just sell them to isis and ban them from ever setting foot in Europe again. Go live among those you suck up to.

Muslims are absolutely forbidden to kill innocent people regardless of what religion the other person follows. They’re instructed to show kindness to people who are harsh to them and Islam does not advocate barbaric attitude towards Non-Muslims. Rather, it teaches its followers to deal with Non-Muslims in a fair and kind manner.
