The Audacity of YUUGE issues a correction.
Low birth weight and stillborn risk were both found to go BB -> BW -> WW. This doesn’t necessarily suggest hybrid enfeeblement but it does suggest that “hybrid vigor” is bullshit (at least on these metrics). It shows that when it comes to characteristics that blacks are at higher risk of than whites are, mixed people fall in between blacks and whites. Stillbirth risk for mixed couples was found to be closer to the BB average than the WW average, but for premies/low birthweight mixed was closer to WW than to BB. In both cases, mixed falls in between BB and WW. The moral of the story is still the same–whites mixing with blacks is bad for whites. But it’s good or at least neutral for blacks, so it’s celebrated.

I’ve recently met two half-white/half-japanese. One was a girl from a european father and japanese mom, the other was a guy with a japanese father and white mom. Both had super high levels of anxiety, bordering on crazy.
The girl used to not enjoy taking the car when she was a kid as she would feel physically ill, still experiencing mild signs of it at 22 and still cant enjoy going to the movies because of some physiological response. She feels like throwing up. The guy needs to keep the light on when driving in his car and doesn’t like to drive. And both are quite withdrawn.

I’ve been reading the reviews on imdb. Surprised to read many people disappointed, not liking, it’s too much like the original. Not surprised to read that this is the case–jew jew’s a hack–but that people are turned off.

My 2-week fascination with Star Wars (the original one, ca. 1977 or whenever it was) ended when I realized that Princess Leia wasn’t going to come over to be my girlfriend.
The whole thing always seemed very artificial and contrived to me, as opposed to the organically grown traditional fairy tales of European folklore or science fiction stories that were actually rooted in more than just one baby-boomer’s imagination.
If you want a sci-fi universe that completely dwarfs both Star Wars and Star Trek put together, there’s a German sci-fi pulp novel series called Perry Rhodan, continuously published since, I think, 1961, and still going. There are so many novels, spin-offs, background – and fan material, if you committed to reading 1 book every day from now on, you might be done in 20 years……
But they’re still publishing, so maybe longer……

Hunger Games? I didn’t think the books were stupid. They were about performing under murderous cynical pressure, the opposite of a fairy tale. Also the tech was really cool because there are many pieces that it’s not widely known, but it already exists. Like tracker jacker venom? We have oxygen uptake inhibitor which can replace memories with others. It’s about the present not the future, but you have to be quite familiar with the present.
I saw the first Hunger Games movie because they put it on free cable to promo their new movie. And it’s faithful to the plot, but you don’t get the sense of existence in a cynical world the same as the books. Not as good, and more about the evil of big government than the lives of the characters.
And Star Wars is also about fighting the Empire, so it’s like the Hunger Games movies. But not the HG books.

The Hunger Games are primitive nonsense, there are middle schoolers who can write better than Mrs. Collins. The quality of prose is abysmal, publishers ought to be ashamed of the absolute garbage they’re selling as ‘teen fiction’.
None of the plot lines – if we can call them that – make any sense, starting with the most basic premise, that rounding up a nation’s children to have them kill each other on TV is a good way to prevent a revolution. Sounds like an excellent way to provoke a revolution to me.

It’s apparant to me that people on a long enough timeline, and previous to the modern resource rich environment had a natural tendency towards racial purity. Isn’t it remarkable how just a century ago, there were relatively few mixed race populations, with notable exceptions in South America and the Mediterranean? This isn’t entirely true. In the olden days of yore, mixing occurred within ethnic-linguistic group. The North English were always of Viking descent, what is the difference in one kind of Viking versus the other? The ancient Greeks did not mingle with their conquered, they either enslaved them temporarily to build (and to work them to death) or killed off the conquered. The original meaning of “idiot” was someone who escaped the onslaught and had no tribe of their own. They had no culture, no heritage and no connection in the new village. Even living in a settlement of others of your linguistic group made you an outsider back then.

I don’t believe in human evolution from apes. If humans allegedly evolved from primates, then why are there still so many unevolved species of primate? Man, come on. If you’re going to comment on the theory of evolution, at least educate yourself on what it is first. You don’t have to believe in it, but don’t be ignorant of what it is purported to be. The theory of evolution states that all modern day great apes evolved from a now extinct common ancestor. Humans, gorillas, bonobos, chimps and orangutans are biological cousins and branched off from the same source lineage. “Unevolved”? Gorillas are as evolved as they need to be for their current environment for the last few million years. There is no “end goal” for evolution. It is an ongoing process that doesn’t necessarily need to end in human-level intelligence, only adaptations that are best suited to an organism’s habitat.
In science, a theory is not a guess, not a hunch. It’s a well-substantiated, well-supported, well-documented explanation for observations made about the natural world. It has a different meaning than the way you are using it or understand it.

When they put a white European into the mix, there was only about a 5% overlap between Euripean DNA and African DNA. With so little in common genetically, I just cannot see a healthy hybrid being born out of that combination.

When looking at studies like this 9% can disappear like a fart in the wind with confounding factors(like say older couples were looked at on one side or the other), and with something that is low to begin with,its like worrying that about having a 1.1% chance of something happening rather than a 1% chance. Yeah its ten percent higher..but its still not going to happen. , I should remind the mouth breathers that its a bad idea to sleep with your sister, because its very likely that any genetic defect present will actually show up in children. In the same way in small tribes can often have lines of defects. This is why people generally find people very different to themselves(including accents) appealing. One likely primary purpose of genetic diversity is to maximally resist disease, so that your children aren’t all wiped out the next black plague that comes through.
