I’m very much pro-2nd amendment, but in this day and age, I would not buy a toy gun for any child. Kids will come up with substitutes that will not get them killed.
Better to train them on the reality of weapons. Teach them a healthy respect for firearms (and other weapons), grounded in sound safety principles.

Had Tamir pointed that “gun” at a police officer, then I agree that would constitute a reasonable threat authorizing deadly force in response. But if you read the facts of the case closely, you will see he did nothing of the kind. He wasn’t even touching it when the police rolled up and shot him; it was in his wasteband. That should bother anyone who carries a pistol for self defense, as I do.
It is tragic that BLM and the Monica Goldbergs of America have chosen to racialize this incident for their own ethnic agendas. But that doesn’t make the shooting justified.

A 911 caller reported that a boy was pointing a gun at people. She did not even indicate the boy’s race. She did say the gun may be fake but the dispatcher did not relay this information. When the police arrived to check out the people at the park, they saw the gun on a table and saw Tamir put it in his waistband. The police told him to put his hands up and he pulled the gun out and fired two shots. He did not speak, gesture or threaten in any other way.

The point of the quotes is that it was not actually a gun, but under these circumstances I don’t actually care whether it was a gun or not. Under the Ohio constitution, people are allowed to openly carry guns. They are, of course, NOT allowed to point them at people. But it is significant, in my view, that the person who made the 911 call was not one of those people.

Here is the Wikipedia article, and I quote: “The officers reported that upon their arrival, Rice reached towards a gun in his waistband. Within two seconds of arriving on the scene, [officer] Loehmann fired two shots before the zone car had come to a halt.”
So, the police only had a report from a third party that Rice was “pointing a gun at people”. They did NOT have a report of shots fired, and they did NOT observe Rice doing anything except stick the gun in his waistband. I’m not even sure this constitutes anything more than grounds for a “Terry” stop. But instead, a boy is dead, and exactly no one has been called to account: not the hyper-aggressive officers, nor the incompetent dispatcher, nor the supervisors in charge of developing procedures that put people in the morgue unnecessarily.
Again, just because the DOJ is run by black supremacists and BLM is a terrorist front doesn’t mean that Tamir himself should have been killed.

The summary at its top (which I quoted) says the Tamir merely “reach for the gun in his waistband”, whereas the body of the article says that he “pulled out the gun”. The article cites three sources for this account, two of which (Cleveland.com and BBC) say “pulled”; the third (NYT) says “reached for”.
Most of the subsequent reporting has quoted the officer as claiming Tamir “reached for” the pistol; I was unaware until now of any account saying that he “pulled” it. That’s a big difference, and if Tamir is confirmed to have “pulled it”, then I will withdraw my objection; Tamir’s death would still be tragic but nonetheless his own fault.
But “reaching for” a gun stuck in your own waistband is IMHO too poorly defined a body movement to constitute a reasonable threat justifying a deadly response.
Obviously the media is untrustworthy in this; I want to see primary sources, like grand jury transcripts. But I will allow that the matter is less clear than I originally thought.

When I asked a few people i know what percentage they think is black they all said 40%. The average american thinks it’s around 33%. In actuality it’s around 12%.

The “big three” palm strikes: slaps, pushes, swings.
It is much easier to learn to strike with the open hand than with the fist. The progress to adequacy can be very fast as it is a very natural movement so the following notes should get you well on your way.
All palm strikes can be performed forehand or backhand. This is a great capability because it allows you to hit very hard from almost any position and that helps in the desirable strategic goal of converging your 12 on the opponent*.
(Special note. Never bring your 12 around on someone who already has their 12 on you and can keep it there. You will get smashed. Instead there is no embarrassment in regrouping: move, retreat, forward,backwards, rushing them, whatever – but don’t turn in place. Sitting duck. We see this when guys get bashed when they refuse to sensibly retreat in MMA)
Forehand strikes are defined as strikes where the elbow points at the ground through most of the swing and absolutely must point down in the latter part and as it reaches the target. Elbow pointing at the ground powerfully engages the lats and aids in shoulder stabilization. This is very important. Never violate this principle.
Backhand strikes: This does not mean using the back of your hand. You still use the palm but the elbow does not point down. Just let the elbow point where your body mechanics need it to point. Something can and often may begin as a backhand and become forehand and vice versa but too hard to explain here. Play with it. You’ll see.
Ideally, all of these blows involve a wave-like movement through the body. Foot (may lift heel unless drop-stepping) knee, hip, waist rotation, lat involvement,scapula extension, tricep extension. This movement can be long or short/compressed. Stay upright. Knees bent. Draw your chin back. Keep your teeth lightly clenched. Practice makes perfect.
The palm is neither hard nor soft, but firm. The fingers are open and not stiff. This is nothing like a James Bond karate chop – which I have never understood, at all.
1. Slap. Like throwing a ball. The key here is to cock the wrist before delivery.
2. Push. Like putting a shot. This is a whole body movement, like all strikes, but emphasizes extending the lats and the scapula.
3. Swing. Like swinging a basket.
Practice on a punching bag. Go slowly. Always nominate where you are hitting. You will know if you are doing it right because the bag will fly and/or you will get explosive noises from the bag. Pushes get more movement. Slaps and swings get explosions.
Targets
These blows can be aimed at any part of the body, nuts – imagine a forehand or backhand swing to the balls, ouch! – lower abdomen, solar plexus, sternum, liver, kidneys, the rear of the body, and all of the head, including the ever-neglected top of the head.
Practise will show that certain blows and movement patterns/12 positions or even social situations suit different types of strikes. For example, if I were to hit someone standing in front of me in the solar plexus, a push movement would suit. If I were flanking them, I might use a slap (but probably would choose a different target). Similarly, consider how a swinging or slapping hand might rise from my pocket, out of the opponent’s vision, and hit him in the side of the head. This is powerful. But horses for courses.
Tactics/Strategy
You can use palms to fight from a crouch – no problem,and crouching is fine – but to start, learn to hit standing up with knees bent – guys also fall over in fights because they are stiff-legged. Check out Connor McGregor. Nice and upright and relaxed with knees bent.
Anyway, you will need to be upright when learning to drop-step. So stand upright. Don’t try to hit the bag too hard. You will soon learn that more effort means less results. Relax those lats. Get that sonic boom on the bag.
Cautions.
Protect your elbows and shoulders (I love chest expander and power twister for shoulder stability and especially teres minor and teres major development)
Easy does it. Of course, don’t straighten your elbow before reaching the bag. Palm-striking is pretty easy on the hands but don’t be silly. Hit a bag for 30 minutes and you could hurt yourself I suppose, especially as a beginner. I never have but apparently I have hands like anvils.
Once you have hit the bag and got good results, just stop. Don’t train until you are tired and get bad form. That is counter productive.
Never make contact with the bag – light or heavy – when your arm is to the rear of your shoulder. That applies to fist punching too. It is just dumb and fucks your shoulder and neck. No reason for it and it also conflicts with the goal of converging your 12 on the opponent.

Thanks. It’s uncanny. Guided Chaos even has a no-chambering/no-telegraphing style of hitting called drop-stepping (or dropping energy) which is basically dropping the whole body momentarily and capturing the energy on the rebound and into the strike, while maintaining balance, which sounds similar to the way you use it. (It might be a common term eg in boxing etc., but my background in MA is only so-so).

Dozen or so years ago I was in a small café in Beverly Hills. Eavesdropped a nearby conversation because it was hot chicks. Both lived in BH. One talked about her hometown, somewhere in northern CA. Said it needed more diversity, it was too White, other girl agreed with her. They were both young. You really have to be a liberal to be a hypocrite like this.
Actually had a conversation with pretty blonde girl 20yrs ago in Boston. She grew up going to private schools, graduated from Brown, and couldn’t understand how people like me could be so racist towards nizzers. I detailed what her experiences would’ve been like at my half nizzer high school to no avail of course.
Women have a hard hard time being harsh to the parroted oppressed. So many of them can simply not see or won’t see actual evil. 1+1 will always be 4 to them. I think its that they just can’t deal with harsh language, like so many of them will not watch violent programming. Or , I just don’t know, maybe it is strident masochism, or they’re just that crazy. Some will come to their senses when they are directly affected, but as other commenters have noted above many won’t.

Could be that mothering instinct they were made for. The level of disconnect with logic (most women, SJWs, etc..) is staggering. The woman in the example moved from a place with “diversity” to another place (better neighborhood) without it. Instead of the woman staying in her nice little “diversified” area she wants to bring that shitty area to her new place of residence (won’t her neighbors love her for it).
There is a reason why so many places (like D.C.) are a shit hole and other places (just outside of D.C. in Virginia are nice….they don’t have much “diversity”. We’ve seen what’s happen in Europe, recently, when illegals march across the borders of Europe from the Middle East….these countries become third world countries (crime increases, trash everywhere, etc…).
People who want “diversity” need to pack their bags and head over to those “diversified” lands…instead of trying to fuck up the nice neighborhoods.
