Reader Kent Thomas provides a few examples of Game concepts and the Poon Commandments that permeate various Biblical teachings.
Maintain State Control, Maintain Frame
2 Timothy 2: 14-16, 23-26
14 Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.
23 But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. 24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.Be Irrationally Confident
Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.Confidence and State Control
Galatians 5: 22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.Make Her Jealous
Romans 11: 11-15 11 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. 12 Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness! 13 For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, 14 if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them. 15 For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?Don’t Let Her Make the Rules
Isaiah 3:12 As for My people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O My people! Those who lead you cause you to err, and destroy the way of your paths.Feminism & Equality
Ecclesiastes 7: 26-28 26 And I find more bitter than death the woman whose heart is snares and nets, whose hands are fetters. He who pleases God shall escape from her, but the sinner shall be trapped by her. 27 Here is what I have found, says the Preacher,
Adding one thing to the other to find out the reason, 28 Which my soul still seeks but I cannot find: One man among a thousand I have found, but a woman among all these I have not found.I especially like the last two.
Game is timeless, because human nature is timeless. To Game is to be closer to God.

The entire OT was gOd putting the smackdown on Israel for playing the whore. NT? Next!

I hear what you’re saying, but I don’t think sad might the best term. (At present, cannot find the word.) However…
It just goes to show that the Word of God has and does stand the test of time and we’re at an age, on all levels, that this is the method with which it is being preached again.
You have those who were taught at a young age, and as they grew, asked the questions when they became their own man. “Test all things and hold onto what is true!”
You have those that saw hypocrisy from what was preached versus the actions of those preaching and following the preachers. They said, “this ain’t for me, later.”
In short, it’s not unlike the parable of the sower, with some seed falling in fertile soil, some falling in hard lands and those that are in good soil, but are shrouded by the weeds.
Consider this the weed whacker for those that are looking for guidance, clearance and those who have cultivated their faith are hear to offer assistance and provide witness as with this post, the last, in addition to comments of others sharing in their own right.

In search of the highest expression of irrational self confidence, proclaiming oneself to be the literal and only true Son of the one true living God — that is a pretty good start.
Not backing down from that expression when all of the powers of this world are closing in for to kill you if you do not back down. … takes the whole meme to a higher level. And that is when the strange music starts.
That is how scripture gets made.

Ecclesiastes is full of truthiness, and I never tire of reading it (or him, as you prefer).
No one remembers the former generations,
and even those yet to come
will not be remembered
by those who follow them.
I said to myself, “Come now, I will test you with pleasure to find out what is good.” But that also proved to be meaningless. 2 “Laughter,” I said, “is madness. And what does pleasure accomplish?” 3 I tried cheering myself with wine, and embracing folly—my mind still guiding me with wisdom. I wanted to see what was good for people to do under the heavens during the few days of their lives.
4 I undertook great projects: I built houses for myself and planted vineyards. 5 I made gardens and parks and planted all kinds of fruit trees in them. 6 I made reservoirs to water groves of flourishing trees. 7 I bought male and female slaves and had other slaves who were born in my house. I also owned more herds and flocks than anyone in Jerusalem before me. 8 I amassed silver and gold for myself, and the treasure of kings and provinces. I acquired male and female singers, and a harem as well—the delights of a man’s heart. 9 I became greater by far than anyone in Jerusalem before me. In all this my wisdom stayed with me.
Then I turned my thoughts to consider wisdom,
and also madness and folly.
What more can the king’s successor do
than what has already been done?
13 I saw that wisdom is better than folly,
just as light is better than darkness.
14 The wise have eyes in their heads,
while the fool walks in the darkness;
but I came to realize
that the same fate overtakes them both.
15 Then I said to myself,
“The fate of the fool will overtake me also.
What then do I gain by being wise?”
I said to myself,
“This too is meaningless.”
16 For the wise, like the fool, will not be long remembered;
the days have already come when both have been forgotten.
Like the fool, the wise too must die!
So I hated life, because the work that is done under the sun was grievous to me. All of it is meaningless, a chasing after the wind. 18 I hated all the things I had toiled for under the sun, because I must leave them to the one who comes after me. 19 And who knows whether that person will be wise or foolish? Yet they will have control over all the fruit of my toil into which I have poured my effort and skill under the sun. This too is meaningless. 20 So my heart began to despair over all my toilsome labor under the sun. 21 For a person may labor with wisdom, knowledge and skill, and then they must leave all they own to another who has not toiled for it. This too is meaningless and a great misfortune. 22 What do people get for all the toil and anxious striving with which they labor under the sun? 23 All their days their work is grief and pain; even at night their minds do not rest. This too is meaningless.
24 A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil.
What do workers gain from their toil? 10 I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. 13 That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.
I also said to myself, “As for humans, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals. 19 Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless. 20 All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. 21 Who knows if the human spirit rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?”
22 So I saw that there is nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work, because that is their lot. For who can bring them to see what will happen after them?
Do not be quick with your mouth,
do not be hasty in your heart
to utter anything before God.
God is in heaven
and you are on earth,
so let your words be few.

The tl;dr ultimate message of Eccliesiastes is that everything related to mere material living may be okay for awhile, but in the end it’s all just perishable, and dissatisfying…
Towards the end of one’s life, if the pressing question remains “What’s it all about, alpha?”, and we merely return to the dust, well…all that “gaze upon me, ye mighty, and be amazed” was just so much chaff without meaning or purpose.
