Yup, as something similar happened to me this week with my sister. She needed some tech advice as her computer died, thought macs were “invincible” and her hubby’s a dolt on these things, so she wanted to ask me for advice.
She needed firm reassurance and sound reasoning on what to do. I gladly offered her help, felt her pain as she had lost documents due to a computer crash, but made sure to guide her correctly and tell her what’s what in a direct manner.

Pretty recently he committed a pretty major screw up, involving a company he’s contracted out with and the IRS. He owned up to it, took the hit, and he’s been working like a dog trying to fix it. It’s not that he didn’t express any remorse about it, but how he handled it was altogether different than 95% of all the men I’ve known in a similar situation. There was this pronounced but relaxed undertone of “I did it, made a mistake, I’m human, let’s fix it.”
Pre-Game, I would have agonized over a mistake like that (I agonized over lesser mistakes), which shows that Game isn’t just about notch-count.

I tell them that there are few pundits out there who predicted, in writing, how the Trumpening would unfold at least 6 months ago. I ask them if their favorite pundits have predicted anything about this long before it was crashingly obvious. I remind them that is the hard kind of punditry. That is, describing the course of events accurately before – a long time before – they have happened.
