1933 was the year Laurel and Hardy released the classic “Sons of the Desert”, arguably the funniest film of the 20th century. It explores the nascent rise and masculization of females in the modern industrial age and man’s struggle to assert his marital authority in the face of changing social mores. I have never tired of re-watching this brutally comedic film.
A couple years ago I had moved and was bereft of internet for a week, so picked read a book from my dad’s house titled “In the Garden of Beasts” by Erik Larson, a fictionalization of 1933 Germany based on historical sources. An excellent read and highly recommended. It recounts the travails of the American ambassodor to Germany and the outrageous behavior of his divorced daughter, who at one time dated the head of Russian intelligence and the head of German intelligence, and even met Adolph Hitler himself who apparently acted fairly beta in her presence. Many points you have made in your blog surface in this tale.
Also recommended is Larson’s “The Devil in the White City” about the architects of the 1894 Chicago World’s Fair and a serial killer who used the fair to lure countless women to their death and later transfer to a bone “articulator” who processed the bodies to provide skeltons to medical colleges. True story.

I searched for “How long does it take to cremate a body” and found this:

Your cremation math assumes that each is cremated individually. How big were the ovens? Here’s the math if the Nazis could pack 100 bodies in at a time:
6,000,000 bodies * 2 hours / 100 bodies per oven = 120,000 oven hours
120,000 oven hours / 15 ovens = 8,000 hours = 333 days
Totally doable.

Read Simon Wiesenthal’s wiki bio, he escaped camps three times and still wasn’t killed. And he contacted gangrene and was treated for it in the camps.

It would have to be a huge oven to burn 100 bodies in one go. How would you stack the bodies, and fuel the oven? The whole narrative of burning 6 million bodies is filled with holes. I’d be more inclined to believe in mass graves as a practical means to dispose of hundreds and thousands of bodies.

Vag and Captain, you also must take into the consideration the incredible fuel usage that cremation on such a massive scale would require, and that Germany had a fuel shortage. Certainly a bullet to the back of the head, and then tossed into a ditch, would have been a much quicker, cost efficient way to eliminate (((them))) if that was the true objective. “But, that would leave evidence in mass graves!” Ummmm….Germany was no planning on losing the war, and whether the bodies were in mass graves or burned, there would be evidence and records of same. Of course, there are none of either.
Also remember that the Allies flew many missions over Germany (England first, and then the USA) to scope out target. Never were there mass plumes of smoke coming from any photos of the concentration camps, which would have existed if they were burning (literally) tons of bodies around the clock. The Holy Hoax is the Big Lie of the 20th Century.
Unfortunately, most people absolutely refuse to look at the evidence, and actually consider that it is all a big lie. Just like the photos and evidence from 9/11. Some interesting math in this thread.
Out of curiosity I tried to see what the energy required would be. Since the human body is mostly water, turning a body to ash should be on the order of the energy required to boil an equivalent amount of water. If you take an average of say 45kilograms per prisoner (about 100lbs, children and starvation consistent with the stories would drop the average). The energy required to boil 1kg of water starting at 40C (assumes burning shortly after death so still near body temp) is about 2500 kilo joules.
6million x 45kg x 2500 kJ/kg= 675 million MJ (675 trillion joules).
There are 39 MJ in one cubic meter of natural gas. Therefore it would take about 17.3million cubic meters of natural gas to accomplish it. Converting to oil results in requiring about 105,000 barrels of oil, which was about 2.5% of German oil consumption in 1938. Spread over three or four years, that seems doable though still seems like a waste of resources for a warring country without significant domestic oil production as opposed to the proposed bullet plus mass grave.
As an aside, the amount of natural gas above is about 1/200,000 of today’s world production, which means by using ONLY natural gas, we could cremate every single human being on the planet every day, nearly twice over.

There are photographs of Confederate POW camps (e.g. Andersonville) from the waning months of the U.S. Civil War that show starving Union soldiers that look just like prisoners from a nah-zee camp.

How did he die in Dachau? That’s not even considered a death camp anymore. There is only the five Operation Reinhardt camps now considered to be death camps in the East.
I have family in Dachau the town and have gone there alot. It was a prison and housed SS troops and was used as an administrator center by the Allies after the war.

He was an old man, so old age is as good a suspect as any. The nazis didn’t record a cause of death, and the Nazis told the family still in Germany that he had been sent to a sanitarium for senility where he died. The family didn’t discover the records showing him in the camp until about five years ago during routine genealogy searches.
He was a main suspect in the WW1 naval mutiny and a rabble rouser. The nazi records record his crimes as simply “political.” I’m not worried about the alt-right doing that to me or anyone. The left worries me, though.

What is good and what is not? Who is bad and not has to do more with evolution and its needs than with philosophy. One of the main problems of ethics is the ought be issue. Ethics is the ought and natural philosophy is the be. Science can say us what is right. And what sets moral is Power and Interests. 1933, the year Laurel and Hardy’s classic “Sons of the Desert” was released, arguably the funniest film of the 20th century. An excellent read and highly recommended. It recounts the travails of the American ambassodor to Germany and the outrageous behavior of his divorced daughter, who at one time dated the head of Russian intelligence and the head of German intelligence, and even met Adolph Hitler himself who apparently acted fairly beta in her presence. Many points you have made in your blog surface in this tale.
Also recommended is Larson’s “The Devil in the White City” about the architects of the 1894 Chicago World’s Fair and a serial killer who used the fair to lure countless women to their death and later transfer to a bone “articulator” who processed the bodies to provide skeltons to medical colleges. True story.

What you neglect to mention is that it was Goebbels, more than anybody else in Nazi Germany, who attacked traditional sex roles. He may have been a lothario, but he was also a socialist through and through. He was the one who pushed women into the workforce during the war, despite Hitler’s objections. Why is it on me to repudiate this foolishness about “100 bodies in an oven”? You could, if you forced it, put 4 into an oven, which would be like stuffing 4 hot dogs into a bun. Try 1, or, at max, 2. Otherwise, the efficiency would be compromised and take longer.
