I don’t think it is empty. It’s very revealing. Not just for the psychology behind it, but for what it actually says. It empties out the term “nation,” admittedly, but that is what they, the Brooks types, think a nation is. A big nothing, full of interchangeable people. Or consumption units, if you will. You do damage to the Big, Empty, Interchangeable Nation when you take the consumption units and “reduce” them to their particular attributes.
Then you make all these smaller units, which might not get along. That’s what Brooksites think, anyway. In reality, the identities are real. It’s the Big Empty image that’s an illusion. And the identities will fight; there will be blood. You can’t avoid it by redefining “nation” to preclude their existence.

I’m not so sure. Europe has existed fine having expatriates run import/export businesses out of other countries which is technically also globalisation for quite some time. It would be stupid to think that France, for example, could do just as well as England at producing dye as one example from a few centuries ago. There shouldn’t be any issue with trade, and I can’t think of a reason that an oil company would benefit from multiculturalism. They don’t care about that. The difference between now and then has been the growth of ’empowerment’ and anticolonialism. Empowerment is the selling of ‘right’s’ to evil groups that have been traditionally excluded from representation and anticolonialism is the belief that any difference in quality of life is the fault of some old British, racist agenda that can only be undone through abolishing ‘colonial’ powers and ‘white men’. So I blame uppity politicians who have come to rely on the votes of immigrants in immigrant communities more than corporations. Economic globalism isn’t even policy driven, it’s technology driven(unlike mass migration), so worrying that much about is silly. I mean, even if some countries think they matter and isolate, corporations will have subsidiaries that serve only their customers on their territories, but they won’t produce to export.
It’s also unclear why won’t China ban rare earth exports to America if America will tax their imports. Given the world’s technology prices are influenced by China’s export economy including in supplies, they can offset any tariffs America imposes by creating a comparative advantage in both cheaper labor and cheaper supplies. Good riddance to welfare, socialism and faggots thinking society should pay them to do nothing after 60.

The movie “avatar ” shows jewwood unintentionally confirming that a country has to be one racial nation with the same religion and customs. It would be hilarious if it were not so infuriating.
Watch it carefully. I used to have an awesome write up on my blog. While of course at the surface level there is evil white man versus the sainted natives. What it is actually showing is that a country deserves to set its own rules for admission and one nation per country.
The reason the blue Smurfs are the good guys in that movie is not because of the particulars of their customs, although it is good to respect the nature that provides your food, but it is simply that they are one nation with unity and a sense of togetherness and purpose.

I didn’t see Avatar during first release because I thought it would be more Cathedral claptrap about noble savages, evil White men, and go-grrl rah-rah.
Although there was that as outside packaging, I was pleasantly surprised that, if you scratched just a bit below the surface, there was quite a bit of anti-Cathedral message to enjoy. And visually it was quite stunning, especially colours and composition heretofore unseen, even in the most touted Disney and Pixar animations.
It should have definitely won Best Picture that year… but they gave it to Cameron’s ex-wifey instead for a tepid Hurt Locker, which was actually Cathedralese through-and-through, disguised as an action war movie.
My theory is that there was a lot of jealousy over Cameron’s success (with mega-hits like Titanic and Avatar still being in the Top Ten grossing movies of all time, not to mention the earlier Terminator I and II franchise), plus the nutso “women director” hype.

Greg, interesting argument. I still haven’t seen Avatar, but youtube film guru Rob Ager just did an analysis this weekend of the nighclub shootout in “The Terminator” and it had me thinking about Cameron’s career trajectory.
Now, “Titanic” I saw in the theatre (with my mom and her future-divorcee of a bff of the hour) and even then I thought it was incredibly manipulative and girl-centric in a sleazy way, as if Cameron had checked off a list: the “repressed” high class White girl learns to swear, smoke, appreciate “modern art”, dance on a table, lose her virginity (in the backseat of a car! in the middle of the ocean!) and, in the final twist, she learns how to ride a horse (I’ll never forget the girl in the theatre who cried out when the camera pans past the elderly Rose’s photo of the horse–“She got to learn how to ride a horse!”). Essentially, Cameron’s action-babe “feminism” had come down to a $200,000,000 YA novel, with the deaths of thousands of extras as mere backdrop to a completely navel-gazing coming-of-age fairytale.
Larry Auster basically came to the same conclusion, but emphasizing the Marxist class warfare angles. He talked a lot about the triangulation in Hollywood movies of Good White Liberal against Bad Whites on behalf of Noble Savages of Color (Dances With Wolves, Pocahontas); I’ll have to go check because Avatar probably came into this discussion.
But I say all this by preface, because I’ve thought a lot lately about what happened to Coppola with “One from the heart”, the musical that was supposed to spearhead his independent studio, a movie Jack Nicholson at the premiere described as “money in the bank” but became a disastrous flop; and of course “Heaven’s Gate” which, though Steve Sailer misses it, has some hard-to-find but difficult-to-unsee signaling about the (((whos))). Both of those ambitious films got slaughtered by the (((critics))) and Hollywood producers retook control.
So I think you’re onto something about the Hollywood envy Cameron’s Titanic/Avatar box office records inspire. Whether or not these films are redeemed by Cameron’s obvious filmmaking chops, there is something, when you compare his career with Spielberg’s, obviously Euro about his “let your works be few but noteworthy” approach to filmmaking, as opposed to the incessant pump-’em-out overproduction which has clogged Spielberg’s oeuvre with so many obscure, increasingly forgotten titles. Giving that Oscar to the ex was just a stupid raspberry from his (((peers))).

You take on Titanic is spot-on, and to this day I haven’t sat through the entirety of it, because one knew there was going to be a fem-centric twinge, and at the time, DiCaprio just looked too much like an early teen boy to be taken seriously… it actually wasn’t until The Departed that he gained enough gravitas for his age, but I digress.

Onto the Senor Spielbergo topic of “let your works be few”…so far, the man’s come up with some serious stinkers, and I mean box office stinkers as of late. It was painful to get through WarHorse, which should have been renamed BoreHorse.
Not even the critics can save the man anymore and he’s just riding on his past laurels and not to mention his identify factor.
His last film lost some serious bank. I remember he got all butthurt when Paramount bought out his failing movie studio, Dreamworks (the animation dept was separate) and thus decided to bringing it back again, but with the same results.
In school, I took a class on him and the only reason the class was offered was to get money from him to rebuild their cinema department. The professor was pained to find any redeeming quality in the man’s films, finding him to be formulaic and by-the-numbers. The contrast was telling when I later took a class on Hitchcock by the same professor. But, I mean, come on…
I haven’t seen Avatar, mainly for reasons already discussed here at Le Chateau, but I might just have to give it a viewing sometime soon.

I met a woman who is sort of a strange girl; She has dubious claims about being some (tiny) part native american because of her mother’s mother’s lineage going back some ways so she plays this up and sometimes dresses in ridiculous hippy-ish clothing(it’s a british thing) and says she supports the migrants, and has brought up some silly eastern beliefs about things, also she goes to the music fests like glastonbury as an example and lives in a ridiculous yurt for a few days. but there is a side to her i like, and i would at least like to give it a shot. my question is, would you mock the leftist side of her? she seems at least in some part a leftist and an awful lot of women are, but i am hesitant to mock her beliefs because leftists just seem so unstable and fragile. i also don’t want to come off as an ultra prudish conservative type who lives romantically in the past, even though i sort of am. any thoughts on this? it seems to me that leftists really make it easy to be made a joke of but as we know they can be quite destructive to people that try to stop them. i would also add that waiting around for perfect conservative women to appear is not likely.
