Further investigation: from what I read, the monies from the charity went to satisfying debts and settlements made to OTHER CHARITIES, for the most part.
I don’t pretend to be a tax attorney or accountant, so I’m not familiar with what jot or tittle may or may not have been violated. Here’s what I do know:
It seems the accusers that are shocked… shocked to learn… all seem to have a -stein or -baum after their name, surprise, surprise. Yet when you read the details of where the money went, it invariably went to other charities. Geez, even from his Apprentice days, Trump has raised so damn much money for charities, and given millions of his own, this 1/4 mil they’re trying to say is such a heinous thing just doesn’t pass the smell test.
And as mentioned, I seriously doubt a billionaire with multiple businesses and charities would risk scandal and tax fraud over a mere 1/4 million.
This smells like just another try-hard tempest in a teapot… figure, if 1/4 million was the best they could come up with, after the scouring you know they’ve been doing, then the Cathedral minions are making Trump look a helluva lot cleaner than most of that crowd… ESPECIALLY Hillary and her pay-for-play foundation.
