so i discovered something rather odd. a politically correct friend shared this on his twitter account. https://twitter.com/viralgranskaren/status/799621952071696385 and it goes through to discuss a ‘fake news’ story about sweden banning christmas lights and apparently the ‘fake’ part was that the lights were banned for muslims. the ‘real’ part was that the lights were banned for technical legal reasons so i looked it up and even the snopes article on it is extremely unconvincing. we are expected to believe that sweden banned lights… this year among all years… because the department that owns the street lights is not allowed to share electricity legally and because the lights are not made to support the extra weight of christmas lights? Especially after years of the lights being strung up, it comes across as very plausible that the actual reason to ban the lights was not to offend muslims but the legal reasoning was given as the prior nonsense. this fake news nonsense is going a bit far.

– The US imposes an arms embargo against Portugal and South Africa.
– The Portuguese find ways of getting their weapons, and fight their war (for fourteen years) successfully, defeating the communists.
– Unfortunately, the Portuguese army is infiltrated by communists, and they stage a coup the etat in Portugal, ending the empire, and basically giving away the independence to local African communists.
– After the Portuguese loose control, Rhodesia goes next.
– South Africa is therefore isolated in its efforts to keep white people’s attempts at civilizing the black continent.
– Eventually they too capitulate, free the communist Mandela, end up apartheid, give Mandela the presidency, and South Africa is the mess that it is today.
In essence, another example of how US intervention to bring democracy to those that are not ready for it, or need it, end up in a fail, and with tragic consequences.

It’s only logical to assume the UK would want war against a strong Germany, because who else could be their rivals? The French were a spent power, and there was nobody else in Europe that could pose any challenge to the British.
Hitler promised the German people he’d be the leader of all the Germans, and restore Germany’s greatness. He delivered on his promise by first rebuilding Germany. Then he had to deliver on being the leader of all Germans, which would have to include those Germans living throughout Eastern Europe, with Poland being one of those countries with a large German community living in it.
Hence…
They put the two together, and anticipated that sooner or later Hitler would approach Poland to resolve that situation. If the Poles had no support from either the UK or France, they would have had to enter into a dialogue with the Germans, and it’s quite possible they could’ve reached an agreement between the two, and avoided war.
Since they had assurances of protection from the UK and France, the Polish rejected the German approaches, and basically defied them, “– If you want it back, come and get it”. And that’s what happened, and it’s the reason behind the start of WW2.
Also, the British most likely calculated they had nothing to lose by challenging the Germans, even if it escalate to a full war. They probably thought the situation would evolve to resemble something like WW1, and the fight would bog down somewhere between France and Germany. This is pure speculation on my part, but it makes logic sense, so it’s plausible.

The British (along with the French) started WW2 by jumping in and turning a regional re-settling of accounts (i.e. Germany taking back from Poland the strip of land that was taken from it ~20 years earlier at the conclusion of WW1 — a strip of land that was separating it from a piece of German territory that was cut-off) into a worldwide conflagration.

You’re right about aerospace and defense. Shit, CA used to be the place for that, among other businesses. Then, they all moved out when it got too pricey. Even Tesla built their gigafactory in NV due to a favorable business climate, in addition to tax breaks. And CA was willing to give them even more tax breaks too.

I used to live in the Temecula/Murrieta area. I loved it out there. And was surprised, at the time I lived there, that it was conservative relative to the city. (I was still naive about a great many things.) It reminded me in some ways of my hometown.
There are pockets of this state that are great. I guess the Texan in me is looking to go back home.

It’s not a ‘divine right’, it’s that the US were the only major power to emerge from WW II more or less unscathed.
Germany, Japan and Russia were basically in ruins, Britain, France and China had taken some very serious body blows, and the US were the big victorious Good Guys, smelling like a whole bucket full of roses and incapable of doing any wrong.
Add to that the very deeply rooted American belief that everyone in the world would like to be just like them, if only they weren’t oppressed by a couple of gangster-type bad guys, et voilà – World Cop USA.

As an Englishman I have often noticed that people in my country (as well as people in the rest of the world) seem to think that they’re entitled to have an opinion, not just about the foreign policy, but also about about the domestic policy of the USA.
Thus they will criticise USA gun laws, or the laws relating to capital punishment. But it would never occur to them to pass comment on the laws in Japan or Nigeria or Mexico or the Phillippines.
The reason is that people outside the USA perceive the USA to be a “white” country, and it is therefore held to higher standards than non white countries..

I find these “DESTROYS” videos nothing more than annoying… nobody really listens to each other or gets a chance to speak his piece before the other starts in… mostly because the one trying to speak his piece is just mouthing the same old bullshit.
And the end result is neither side is convinced, and both go about their business the next day doing and talking the same shit.
Better not to have these incessant talking head shows and put the airwaves to better use… even when “our side” is in the right, it just gives legitimacy to the other asshole by making out like he or she said something worthy of debate.
It’s just working within the Synathedral’s frame… we have to get to the point where we DON’T DEBATE WITH THE LEFT… and just have our own networks where sympatico individuals can speak their piece in calm persuasive tone that make it all seem part of what the one big and usually happy family believe and live.
