PS An LA Times story on the alt-right. Richard Spencer appears to have congealed as the official face of the alt-right. I have nothing against the man, so good luck to him. From what I’ve read (about himself and of his views), there isn’t much with which I’d disagree. One other thing. I watched the NPI press conference. Asked whether they had contact with the incoming Trump administration, the panel got all mealy mouthed. Spencer paused. Not “direeeectly.” He or another of the panel said that on an occasion a few of them may have shaken Bannon’s hand.
Well, from that, the accurate answer is a resounding, “No.” And that’s what they should have said immediately. Sorry guys. You do not have contact with or contacts in the Trump administration. But Spencer, unable to admit this forthrightly, said just enough to leave a hostile press space to suggest to its mainstream audience that Trump has links to a group that tosses around phrases like “Triumph of the Will,” “ethnic cleansing,” “Hail Victory,” and “Luegenpresse,” and gives Nazi salutes at there gatherings.

Restrict the franchise to net tax paying men. And stop fantasizing for a return of a failed philosophy, and damaging a movement that is the only hope for our survival by LARPing as SS officers and sieg heiling each other in public.
I predict that this will damage the reputation of massive intellects such as Jared Taylor and Roger Devlin more than anything else. Ironically, Spencer made some excellent points during the media debriefs and he seems to have at least some ideas in common with the Trump right. But his childishness will do more harm than good to the Trump right in the long run.

But, I also think Spencer will be just a flash in the pan. I’ve been reading alt-right stuff forever and although he’s purportedly one of the progenitors, I never found him interesting enough to read. So once he gets sick of playing the villain the media wants, he’ll retract. He’s actually a bit too normal to commit to being the next David Duke – after a few Seig Heil videos he’ll be spent.
Cernovich should take solace that he won’t get this type of press hit piece because he’s a more effective propagandist than Spencer… although Cernovich is quite obviously a self-promoter before anything else. Which is cool w/ me – when our interests align there’s nobody better.

There are mistakes and then there are mistakes.
Moreover, Spencer has made them in multiples, not just during the past weekend itself, but before. He does not strike me as someone who is amenable to recognizing and learning from mistakes. It’s hard to work with that kind of temperament.
Spencer has been given plenty of chances. Time to move on.

I have already stopped referring to myself as an Alt-Right’er in public due to Spencer’s antics. I just call myself a Trump-right’er now.
Spencer is a goddamn child playing with matches, and has no idea of the potential damage he can do to a Trump presidency and a Trump re-election in 2020.

It’s over, CH. Time to cut our losses. Spencer has torpedoed himself, NPI, and, probably, the Alt Right as a brand name. You are great at reframing things, but there will be no coming back from the combination of Spencer’s past neo-Nazi statements and the vivid, unimpeachable visuals that he fed the media over the weekend. We all need to distance ourselves now from Spencer, and, unfortunately, the umbrella term, “Alt Right.” It didn’t have to happen.
Spencer should resign from NPI, by the way.
I write the above assessment as someone who has defended privately, in real life, almost every single one of Trump’s “gaffes” since he announced. I cannot defend what Spencer has said and done.

We shall see. I don’t think it is so obvious that was going on. And even if such a perception were to prevail, it has been my observation over a number of years that people aren’t disposed to be dismissive of such gestures or role playing, even when they are done in jest. At best, it shows poor judgment and a childishness that few of us wish to be associated with. This is a time for steely-eyed discipline.

Spencer like Trump are not ideal and have flaws but they are a step in the right direction.
Trump for now is not going to ‘lock her up’ and no mention of the wall on his video yesterday.
It’s a step by step and brings publicity to nationalism.
Never seen Milo speak but the BBC reposted an interview he did a few weeks ago and he crushed it particularly regarding political correctness.
We need Spencer and the NPI…we need Milo. All under a common umbrella.
