That was actually an anti-drug song penned by the pre-hippie era songwriting team of Barry Mann (“Who Put The Bomp”) and Cynthia Weil. It’s a good song and I’m glad to see people still know it, but I don’t think it applies here.
What I think DOES apply is Joe Jackson’s “One On One,” where he makes fun of a woman for jumping into every ridiculous political cause (“Vegetarians against the Klan” is one example). That’s the price we have to pay to get what we want. So what have we got so far? Gorsuch was a major win, and the way he was confirmed will help with any other SC appointees Trump will make. Lots of little bits and pieces (2 regs for 1 etc), and not a whole lot else.
Sessions and Mattis have been disappointments so far, attempts to do something about immigration have mostly failed, and The Wall is nowhere in sight. GOP cucks won’t authorize spending, so it looks like they’ve kicked that can six months down the road.
So, of my three go to issues, (SC, Immigration, and The Wall), we have 1/3. Not very impressive.
And tax reform looks like being nothing like what was promised. Wasn’t one of my core issues, but is still important to the economy, and hence everything else.
Chessmaster or not, the optics are bad to those in the Trump’s base support. Even when you remove the MSM filter. As has been said above, it’s like Trump’s Evil Twin is now in power. Hyperbole, yes, but there’s a lot of the “new boss is the same as the old boss” vibe.
There’s still a fair amount of time until the Midterms, but that will go quickly, and The Base will want to have seen REAL progress on Trump’s core promises, or they will stay home.
Co-President Kushner (F) is a real problem, this BS with the ‘groid loving astronaut today was atrocious. Co-President Kushner (M), has a real shady background, and it seems he is removing, or at least defanging anyone he believes will get in the way of his agenda; whatever that is ultimately. The Co-Presidents certainly aren’t people I would want watching my back.

Italy is generally very organized and sophisticated north of Rome too. Spain is also different region by region. It could be that we are at the end of times, which, from believer’s perspective may not be such a bad thing. The most important thing to do is try and live as best as one can as a Christian. Be good to your family and friends, and to your neighbors, and never give up hope for a better tomorrow.
In regards to political fights, democracy is all a big game of interests, and power rest with those that have the most $$$$ to influence it. In the past, it was the “elite” of one’s people that ended up at the top, and even if they were crooked, at least they shared some of the same cultural/religious beliefs as the rest of society. But who’s checking their methodology, and has anybody considered that they may have more than one agenda here? I rarely watch television, but last night something caught my eye as I was searching for the weather channel. A show on TLC called “Do you know who you are?” There was pasty-white celebrity Liv Taylor searching her ancestry, and lo and behold, the show reveals that her great grandfather was part “colored person.” Radio jockeys in my area did the DNA tests and were upset that none of their German or Irish genes showed up.
Someone should look into this.
