Syllogism and Synthesis

Yes. Like a drug, it provided a quick rush of insta-validation. But like the dragon chased by heroin junkies, social media addicts must resort to increasingly degenerate posts to garner more and more likes to slake their egos. That’s why we are at the point where people can openly express their delight at an elected official being shot over politics, and nobody bats a fucking eye.

You need to combine that with this:

It sure is. I speak from experience during my brief FB days. This was also pre-RP too. I would post stuff solely for the sake of getting that most-sought after “like” click. I foolishly put too much emphasis on getting that like, mainly from actual friends, acquaintances of me–i.e. people I knew and had met in person.
Sure, it was always nice to get a like from someone I barely knew, but it wasn’t that important to me.
It’s a false equivalency of thinking you’ve “done something.” It’s the vacuous, wide-open gate of acceptance. It’s virtual bullshit. Last year someone trolled me on twatter, pinning that tweet, as though it was some conquest or some great victory, just because people liked his tweet. It wasn’t anything serious, but the fact that guy thought it was an accomplishment was what was so troubling.
There really is no country for old men.

I liked this on WordPress.
Possibly. What will a woman not do for lotsa likes? The little dopamine rush. I’d like to think social media is just a fad but I guess we’ll see

I was at an event a few nights ago with tons of HS and college peeps, nary a dumbphone in sight.

if facebook was run by actual men it would be “respect” instead of “like”.

Can CH change “like” to “agree” and “reply” to “amplify?”

If there’s gonna be buttons, it needs to be fair. There should be negative alternatives, like “Agree / Jew” and “Amplify / Shakin’ my haid”

As much as I like “Jew,” perhaps the blog theme is better. Also, let’s keep things positive.
Agree / Chuckle
Amplify / Neg

Still think we need a Jew button.

I’m also ok with “Major7 Approves”

I can’t think of anything else that fuels toxic behavior and thinking more than social media. Besides Islam, that is.

Women get off on it. But it can work the other way if you take control of the ‘conversation’. I bet ya within 4 years, Trump wins a higher share of the women vote even with the jew full frontal assault. Just watch.

Its a digital safe space. No one can be offended. unless they don’t get enough likes, so in the future you will be forced to like things, because not liking them is hate-thought.

Season 2 of tv show “Black Mirror” has an episode with Ron Howard’s daughter (look it up) in which social media approval determines one’s placement in the social order. Really good watch. Recommended.
