Aside from this guy who drove his car into the crowd (and it’s still up in the air whether it was a purposeful act or a reaction of fear to alt-L mob violence), what violence did the alt-R commit?
It was my understanding that acts of defense were not considered “violence” in the (((MSM))) shaming connotation of the word.
So what exactly did the alt-R do wrong, law-wise?
Some half-asses showing up in NAH-ZEE regalia means anything goes, according to law, as far as bodily harm inflicted? I don’t think so.

From what I can piece together from the accounts of people who were actually at the protest, the alt-right protesters were boxed in on 3 sides by police and antifa on the fourth side.
After cancelling their event, police forced the attendees to exit through the 4 side right into the arms of antifa. Those who refused to leave (a reasonable response seeing as they’d have to run a gauntlet of armed thugs) were then manhandled by police.
At this point, any future violence could and should be deemed self-defense by the alt-right attendees as they were FORCED into a violent mob who only showed up to attack them. The fact that some of the alt-right members were carrying guns, yet no one was shot, speaks to the incredible restraint of those attending. Could have turned out much, much worse.

I hold no delusions about Trump, but I applaud him for putting the antifa on notice at the press conference. As I listened to the conference, my head was swimming with the repercussions of his mentioning of “alt-left.” Now every average Joe who only gets their news from the MSM and probably knows nothing about antifa is forced to ask themselves “What is the alt-left? Who are these antifa people?”
This puts the MSM in a tough position. If they continue to ignore the violence perpetuated by the left, they will further erode their waning credibility, driving their viewers to alternative media sources. If they acknowledge the culpability of the left, the Dem’s platform will be left in shambles.

Smartphones used to be known as “books”, and some of them were relatively expensive when they were new as well; but now they’re all mostly just piled up here-and-there, with nobody wanting them anymore. Still just as good, though, except now you can get them for pennies on the dollar.
But I think you should still watch the weather reports.

I’ve never had cable or satellite, I own a TV primarily to support my VHS and DVD collection and my MSM viewing is pretty much limited to the local news weather forecast, because that actually matters in my life.
When I was a k1d in the 70s and 80s, I was told to treat books – especially new ones – with respect, since they were rather expensive.
They still are, which is why I buy most of mine used, same goes for movies.
Saving money is one reason, not wanting to give any money to the studios is another.

The texture of events has an ominous feeling to this reader of history at least. We demand reparations for past and continuing harms. The government, responsible corporations and other institutions that have profited off of the harm they have inflicted on Black people — from colonialism to slavery through food and housing redlining, mass incarceration, and surveillance — must repair the harm done. This includes:
Reparations for the systemic denial of access to high quality educational opportunities in the form of full and free access for all Black people (including undocumented and currently and formerly incarcerated people) to lifetime education including: free access and open admissions to public community colleges and universities, technical education (technology, trade and agricultural), educational support programs, retroactive forgiveness of student loans, and support for lifetime learning programs.
Reparations for the continued divestment from, discrimination toward and exploitation of our communities in the form of a guaranteed minimum livable income for all Black people, with clearly articulated corporate regulations.
Reparations for the wealth extracted from our communities through environmental racism, slavery, food apartheid, housing discrimination and racialized capitalism in the form of corporate and government reparations focused on healing ongoing physical and mental trauma, and ensuring our access and control of food sources, housing and land.
Reparations for the cultural and educational exploitation, erasure, and extraction of our communities in the form of mandated public school curriculums that critically examine the political, economic, and social impacts of colonialism and slavery, and funding to support, build, preserve, and restore cultural assets and sacred sites to ensure the recognition and honoring of our collective struggles and triumphs.
Legislation at the federal and state level that requires the United States to acknowledge the lasting impacts of slavery, establish and execute a plan to address those impacts. This includes the immediate passage of H.R.40, the “Commission to Study Reparation Proposals for African-Americans Act” or subsequent versions which call for reparations remedies.

The effort is to restrict rights of anyone they declare to be white supremacist/KKK/neo Nazi; anyone who disagrees with restricting those rights will also be declared WSKN. The goal is for the Alt Left/Commie/Antifa/DNC to be impossible to be opposed, because if you do your rights are restricted. That’s the error of those like McCain, Rubio, Cruz and Romney in supporting the Alt Left. They appreciate the gift, but to them GOP is WSKN.
The right needs more economic freedom and power. It has been suggested here before, we need to move close to, do business with, hire each other and effect politics at a local level. Instead, figure out how to be where the enemy is not, and be where it does not even expect you. Figure out how to locate and destroy its supply lines. Figure out how to demoralize their foot soldiers. Seek gaps that leave their flanks dangerously exposed.
