We the people are atomizing, socially and neurally. Our gadgets make us stupid and solitary. We are losing those common social graces and facial cues and verbal tones that have helped us for millennia navigate complex social arrangements and the demands of civilization. The rotten fruit of this devolution to a human-paramecium hybrid is all around us if we’re willing to see it with open eyes and de-politicized egos. For the latest example of it, see #MeToo. Men and women have stopped knowing how to deal with each other, preferring instead snarkphone listicles that make fun of people who still cling to their antiquated notions of sex differences.
The little culture deaths will add up until nothing is left but for the barbarian hordes to storm our unwalled fortress of mass solitude and put the decomposing, fap-wearied body of our nation to rest.

Just about every time I take the elevator downstairs, someone, from a lower floor, and intensely on their phone, will walk right in and not realize that it’s going down, wanting to go up. And the reverse also happens.

I’ve definitely witnessed a recession of politeness and civility. I think a lot of it is lead by this individualistic notion, that comes from the US, that the individual shouldn’t be held back by old social norms. So people dress in hoodies and eat like pigs because it is convenient. But I think manners were really about making people at ease which makes life a lot easier. I’ve seen queues almost stop in some places entirely, and instead of a first in first out order, people cut and try to cheat which reminds me of the third world. I’ve seen people not knowing what to do when a smaller weaker woman struggles with a door. Just yesterday I saw an elderly woman unable to get up stairs being passed by people silently. Last weekend a couple teens knocked on my door because they were lost and going to a party and I have to confess my first thought was that they came to attack me. Really the issue is that manners have been sold as outdated or a thing for snobs when they’re not.

I think the general strategy of the “left” is to box anyone on the “right” into a situation where they can only effectively define what they reject instead of what they affirm. This of course creates a frame where its easy for the “left” to henpeck any “wrong-thinkers” and engage in the sort of schoolmarmy “fact checking” attitude that places the notions and assumptions of the “left” on a default “moral high ground.” They double and triple down on their positions because they are betting on platitudes like “equality, fairness, and justice” carrying a cultural momentum that doesn’t need to be explained; its just “progress.”
The proposition I put forward is that the “right” needs to break out of this frame by becoming better at putting forth and affirming propositions. We’re already well suited to reject that which is being imposed upon us, but in my opinion, that’s only half the battle. Now its time to create wealth and networks built upon principles that can lead to right minded action in the world. These are not your grandpa’s GOP, “muh constitutional” principles.
Heritage, Knowledge, Security, Labor.
I’m in the process of developing some concepts associated with the situation we’re in and how we (those on the “right”) may consider moving forward to counter this tide of degeneracy.
