I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: The West has lost its frame, and its confidence.
What do I mean?
A healthy, confident society will defend its way of life without hesitation or shame. “Hey, this is how we do things. If you don’t like it f*ck off.”
A craven, hollow civilization will let in anyone, sacrifice its traditions and give give give til it hurts. In the end there is nothing left. The invaders have successfully colonized and replaced it.
As a small but meaningful example consider Halloween. A wholesome American tradition if there ever was one. When I was a kid in the 70s and 80s we’d all get costumed up for school.
Now, Halloween is increasingly banned at public schools. Some Muslims and others might feel “unwelcome” or some such nonsense.
A healthy, confident society would tell them to f*ck off.

I don’t think it was “feminism” per se that cause the short-circuit. It’s another symptom instead. If you really dig into it, the root runs much deeper (before Sufferage even)… back to emancipation and the anti-slavery push in the 1840s. Emancipation was virtually exclusively a North-Eastern-US thing and if you look at it, that part of the country was effectively “safe”. The “barbarians” (see: local natives) were virtually extinct in that part of the country and the majority of people agitating for “free slaves” had never even seen a Negro, much less a plantation.
The women in more “dangerous places” such as the (as yet) untamed West and South (where people were eminently aware that a Negro was no less dangerous than a lion, under the correct circumstances) were strongly focused on “protection mode” and that, in part, explains the extreme tenacity of the badly outnumbered and less well-equipped Southern army during the Civil War.
The biggest question is whether (((they))) were the root cause of the Civil War in the first place, given that it was the most prolific eliminator of strong, protective men until the trenches of WW1. I’m inclined (much as I dislike the answer) to say not, because it would require too much foresight and information moved too slowly back then.

I was talking with a buddy of mine the other day of this phenomenon in the church. Some sort of event transpires (Ferguson, regufees, human trafficking, etc.) and the MSM/Social Media brings “awareness” of the problem to far flung communities in which the problem has little or no local effect, but it causes (women) folks emotional distress leading to some sort of call to action or atleast the leadership to address the issue and take a stance. Meanwhile, there are local problems right in front of these communities and no one says or does a damn thing about them.

Yes, it’s belonging to a tribe, or citizenship. When a group is exclusive, and status is derived from belonging to the group, women will derive social standing from mating with a man in the exclusive group. When anyone can have membership within the tribe/nation then that status becomes meaningless. Those who might have low SMV would at a minimum have that status flag which would raise their eligibility in the mating market. The history of the roman empire, or any multiethnic empire for that matter, has a great many parallels in this respect.

After some reading, at this point I’m thinking the rot really set in at the dawn of the Enlightenment and the primacy of “reason” and secular philosophies. I can’t really remember when specifically it all began, but it had a lot to do with technological innovations such as:
(1) the printing press
(2) Newtons development of calculus and physics and it’s ability to successfully make predictions
(3) other scientific innovations
all of which aided the idea that “natural laws” must exist and “reason”, whatever that may be, is able to determine all truths. Thanks to the philosophies of (((Spinoza))), Locke and others, “reason” itself led to the critique or questioning of traditional institutions such as the authority of the church, the king, etc.
This critiquing/questioning process led to new interests in democracy and other governments in the same vein, ultimately sparking revolutions, which was heavily realized in England, America and France.
Germany/Prussia, however (we’re talking about the late 1700’s here) never experienced an obsession with Enlightenment ideas, at least not publicly, in the way that England, America and France did. Germany/Prussia did have it’s share of philosophers who liked these ideas, but “reason” and secular philosophies had yet to be used as political tools to undermine the state, religion and common sense. So for a time Germany never experienced the revolutions and enlightenment “edginess” of France, England and America; and the same could be said about Russia and many other countries and peoples.
And at the end of the 1700’s the ride was beginning to end for the Enlightenment. Just as all things have a beginning, so too do all things have an end.
David Hume came out with his critique of several fundamental enlightenment cannons, such as the primacy of inductive reasoning. He critiqued notions of “cause and effect”, the “principle of sufficient reason”, and other fundamental aspects of empiricism into the ground. The Enlightenment’s philosophers had no counter to his arguments.
In a poetic fashion, Reason, the very thing that undermined common sense, religion and the state, was beginning to undermine itself. For if Reason has the capacity to critique the bible, why can it not critique itself? This, friends, is the dawn of Skepticism.
German/Prussian philosophers caught wind of Hume’s critiques of the Enlightenment ideas, and they found them compelling – mainly Kant, but there were others such as Jacobi. It was quickly discovered that Skepticism, when followed through consistently, leads to solipsism, then ultimately nihilism. Jacobi was the one who coined the term “nihilism”, being the abyss of philosophy, and which must be avoided at all costs. We’re talking the late 1700’s here, so no nietzsche or sartre or postmodernism yet. But this was the beginning – the capacity of reason to undermine itself was the seed that led to where we are now.
Kant tried to salvage and save the primacy and validity of reason through his various critiques. He came close, but ultimately his very own critiques were critiqued to death.
Other philosophers tried to salvage it all through the course of the 1800’s – the Germans were specifically obsessed with this goal given their high IQ nature, but still with no success.
As a product of the inability to prove the primacy of reason counter philosophies arose such as Romanticism, which found itself expressed through the works of Goethe, Wagner, Schopenhauer and many others. German nationalism was becoming a thing. People were starting to accept the fact that the enlightenment’s ideas were just more dogmas, alternative principles to believe in. It was around this time the “Great Awakening” and “Transcendentalism” in America took the stage.
But by the end of the 1800’s, with the fundamental questions of reason unanswered, with the swindling ways of j3ws running amok, and with many scientific advancements occurring and with massive industrialization spreading across the West, despite the truth of how truth is determined never being resolved, people still needed to go on with their lives and they needed some kind of reasoning to justify their misery.
with proofs for evolution and other scientific feats coming to being, nihilism and solipsistic philosophers arose, such as Stirner and nietzsche. I’ve heard lots of people critique neitzsche’s statements such as “God is Dead” or “There is no Truth”, saying they’re self-refutations. But this misses the historical context for which these statements arose. For at the time of these statements there had yet to be any absolute proof for why the “law of contradiction” must by necessity be true, or why the validity of the “principle of sufficient reason” must be followed. There was, and is, in fact no absolutely proven way to determine if something is true without assuming an unproven principle. Thus a statement like “there is no truth”, despite “refuting itself”, perfectly describes the self-contradictory ways of Reason to undermine itself.
Time goes on. World Wars occur. Existentialism rises, an offspring of nihilism and skepticism, essentially a form of solipsism. Moral Relativism becomes popular as more and more people realize we have no idea how to prove if “our way of doing things” is in fact the right way. J3ws continue to rise in the universities and everywhere in the realms of power. From the 1950’s on to the present you have the advent of postmodern philosophy, political tools once again used to undermine common sense, religion and the state.
Nothing can be proven right; nothing can be proven wrong. Everyone is a Skeptic or a Solipsist. Few people are full on nihilists because no one wants to commit themselves to the abyss of not knowing whether their own thoughts are in fact their own. No one knows what to believe in anymore.
But we still have the Constitution, a product of Enlightenment thinking, a way of thinking that had been refuted long ago.
and it looks like we’ve reached full circle in the quest for Truth; Now I suspect we are at a turn in history – another “Great Awakening”/Romanticist/Nationalist cycle if you will. Take a look at history:
The Enlightenment => Critique of the Enlightenment (Post-Enlightenment) => Great Awakening / Romanticism => Critique of the Great Awakening / Romanticism (Modernism) => Critique of Modernism (Postmodernism) => *YOU ARE HERE*
So now we are at a point where postmodernism itself is being critiqued. The people have spoken with Trump; The far right is rising in the eastern european nations. The times are a-changin for sure. Look at how the very notion of “equality” is being doubted! Look at the “international human rights” laws being put into question! Look at the rise in nationalism! It’s all a good sign.
Whatever has a beginning, has an end; and history has it’s way of bringing us back to those principles and ideas that best enable us to survive and to thrive.

War is a manly pursuit. However sending young men into war for no good reason ought to be a crime.

I saw directly the effects on two families as a result of Vietnam and the conscription of poor young White men. Who wanted to do their duty as their own fathers had done in WWII, still having faith in America and its government.
Devastating.
It got worse in the 80’s when it was generally acknowledged that VN was bullshit. That the Gulf of Tonkin was fakenews.
Imagine going through a war, suffering, seeing your buddies die, and killing people then coming home to find it was all for a lie. If you have a conscience you’d feel guilty as hell for killing innocents. And sad for your friends that didn’t come home.
My relative who served as a door gunner never got over it despite surviving 2 tours and several crash landings virtually unscathed.
Strafing villages and rice paddies – even one incident where the Chinook was damaged, got close to the ground and was swarmed by VC, with bloody hand to hand inside the chopper which left only 4 of its crew alive and when they were able to gain altitud, included throwing VC out. Or when they flew into a hot LZ, picked up wounded comrades, then in making extreme maneuvers to avoid ground fire watched several wounded comrades fall out to their deaths.
Straight up horrible shit. He drank heavily for 35 years and would rarely discuss it. It ate up his psyche as much as the cancer ate up his organs.
Again, if you’re defending hearth and home that’s one thing because the horrible things you have to do are for a damned good and very tangible reason. But those who send young men into that kind of meat-grinder for profit should pay the ultimate price.
Our new adventures in the sandbox are not that different in that regard other than conscription. I have the greatest respect for combat veterans. Even if I think they fought and sacrificed for a lie and a corrupt government.
Who here registered for Selective Service, by law, when they turned 18?

To your point I often wonder what the PTSD rates are for men in defensive wars. I’ve often suspected that when men have their village geographically behind them and the Serbs/Croats/Kosovars, etc. are coming over the hill that they will engage with the same horrifying things that trigger PTSD in foreign wars but at much lower rates.

many of the social and families we’re facing today began with WW2. uprooting a generation of young men and sending them off to fight and/or die in a foreign country basically for nothing, on the scale that it was done, is some fucked up shit. in many cases it destroyed the traditonal bonds children have with their fathers.
fathers came home to their children and wives, unable to speak about the unthinkable things they had seen, unable to relate to their children or wives. children bonded more closely with their mothers than with their fathers.
the baby boomers are very much a product of this. a generation that needed to be loved because they had fucked up relationships with their stoic PTSD fathers. so they tried to create a warm-n-fuzzy society.

One much overlooked factor in the 60s revolution is the silent generation. Pretty most of the hippie icons were silents. Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Bob Dylan were all silents.

Sam Dickson has noted that in the case of the defeated South after the War Between the States, the southern women stayed pretty much loyal to their men and only rarely took up with Yankees. Kind of an exception that proves the rule.

I sometimes think we’re too cynical about women in general just because our particular women tend to suck.
I had a good friend with a terrible hormonal disease that left him famine skinny, and you can tells by his looks that he wasn’t “right”. Really smart guy, really good guy. His girlfriend, now wife, is a good looking girl who worships the ground he walks on.
The fact that they are both highly religious (I mean they ACTUALLY believe it) should not go unremarked).

living as a semi-isolated tribe hasn’t been possible for thousands of years, but it’s interesting to know how we got to where we are. why we like our women and leaders and societies a certain way, etc.

In the past, many commentators would complain about how different the Slavs were from Northern Europeans. Even though the ruling classes in Russia were descendants of Scandinavian/Germanic tribes, they ruled over a multi-ethnic group of peoples. The other planks of his campaign platform only made sense if this particular plank was genuine. Was it genuine? Did and does Trump speak with forked tongue in this respect? I’m not sure yet. But it is a good sign that the purveyors of so-called news still hate him.
Of course jewish influence is at the center of all the elements of the above mentioned dynamic (the media obfuscations away from the actual facts of the international scene, neocon theory, the Fed, control of politicians by way of money and blackmail, entertainment industry geared towards abusing the western bent for altruism). No, you need a clear intellectual analysis and the correct paradigms to explain what is going on. The result is an ineffectual movement and accelerating, not stopping, white collapse.
