This isn’t copypasta, this actually happened over the past year at my company. Several other companies in the area are experiencing similar issues with their visas.
I’m an IT guy, a developer to be exact. I’ve been around the H1B issue for about 20 years and things have always gotten worse, never better. Despite Trump’s fantastic rhetoric during the campaign, I didn’t believe he’d make any real changes or fix anything. However, what I’ve seen over the past year demonstrates this is definitely not true.
My development team is probably 90 percent indian. The manager of our department is indian and the hiring managers are all indian and they have all stated pretty openly that they prefer hiring indians.
Diversity is our str……tribal solidarity!
Whenever there are layoffs, non-indians get cut. Whenever there is hiring, more indians get brought on board. They get paid about 40k a year less than I do, they work hard and they don’t complain. I think they produce garbage quality work for the most part, but I don’t think the managers care. It’s slowly rotting away the quality of the software but again, they don’t care.
Anyway, the typical scenario is that every year, a stack of visas goes in for renewal and about a week later they come back stamped [APPROVED]. Very easy. At the start of this year, instead of coming back approved, each application came back with a huge list of questions and requests for documentation about why the applicants were being paid so little. The lawyers were confused and assembled a huge pile of documentation for each applicant and sent it back. Every single application then came back with either more questions or a denial. EVERY SINGLE ONE is either in limbo or denied (you must go back!). I’ve heard this from multiple sources, including several who had their visas held up.
As a result of this, our company’s HR department has quietly decided (I heard this through the grapevine talking to several department heads) to no longer hire employees that need sponsorship. I’ve talked with recruiters and with people I know in several other companies in the area and I’ve heard similar stories everywhere. Pretty much unless you’re making 120k a year on a visa, you’re going to get yanked. The guys like WIPRO and INFOSYS must be shitting their pants over this.
And salaries for developers are already rising as a result. Salaries have been stagnant for several years but in Q4 2017, they started going up noticeably in this area. Trump is truly making IT great again.

I have been reading this website for years, never posted. I can confirm this is true. Indian H1Bs are also having a very hard time getting back into the country if they visit India. The reentrance process has been taking them over a month. The Trump admin is quietly using red tape and is enforcing laws.

supposedly it was a super duper top secret military satellite of some undisclosed sort, so it’s possible “failed to detach” is just a ruse so that the chinks don’t locate it’s orbit and knock it back down into the ocean, or put some scrambler satellite right next to it that fucks up the outgoing signals. Northrop-Grumman built the satellite and (in a break from standard practice) built the payload adapter that releases the satellite too… one guess what part failed if Zuma got dragged down with the upper stage when it de-orbited.

The (((guys))) on the other side of the table don’t give a shit about quality, don’t care if a project takes three times as long, all they care about is the Indian guy gets less than our dudes do.
You have to be a fool not to see the very apparent results of this, I complain all of the time about these BILLION dollar companies full of “talented” H1b’s but yet with broken websites and shit software.
Just some examples off of the top of my head:
Home Depot – Website logic that routes orders to the nearest store is broke. This is like computer science 101 here people
Bank Of America last rollout had huge authentication problems
PayPal – Invoices were broken in the PUBLIC rollout of their new interface last year I think
Remember the “Obamacare” Healthcare.gov rollout? that was a 600 Million dollar project and the rollout was farcical. I am sure actual crimes were committed here but there was no investigation.

I’ve been a self-employed software developer since ’95. Fortunately, my skill set is in a niche industry and I do well, but what I make has been stagnant for a long time. At the end of ’17 I got a call from a California recruiter I’ve known for years (I used to live in CalComm) he told me that companies were planning for replacing H1Bs and were really worried about their labor costs going up up up. Anyway, I came off a contract at the end of ’17 and was immediately got a new contract – new client. I didn’t even have to haggle with them, usually I’m up they’re down and we meet somewhere. New client didn’t even try to get me down. Should’ve asked for more. As is, its an extra $200 a week on a 40 hr week. 20K plus extra (with overtime) this year. And I work from home. Between what Trump has saved me on my health insurance already ($70 a month cheaper premium) and this, I’ve already made back the $500 I donated to his campaign.

Non-tech companies don’t know anything about IT. They just want to get the costs down and don’t understand how much service is being degraded. Executives everywhere don’t wan’t to tolerate uppity white Americans telling them how things could be done better — and don’t want to have potential replacements move up the ladder. They get to tell their bosses or shareholders that they have cut costs right now, and in a lot of large corporations that’s all that really matters.

My experience with Indian IT “Consultants” is that 90% are complete frauds with copy and paste resumes. They get on site and Google everything to death because they have no proficiency at all. They are cheap but I think hiring high school kids from upper middle class communities would get you better, faster and cheaper results.

Also, today skype interviews are all the norm, so they can’t have someone there giving them answers. And over the years I’ve seen the exact same resume, and I do mean exact same resume because they’re too lazy to amend, under multiple injun names.

I call bullsh1t on this article, founders and top management of several silicon valley startups have been Indians and they have hired thousands of americans once their startups got going. My own extended familys start up in California is run by my 2 cousins and they have 20 americans working under them. Out of the staff of 22, only 2 are Indians, who are about to finish their MS and are in last semester. I can readily give examples of Indian innovation as Sun Microsystems & Hotmail. Indians are at the heart of the global silicon valley boom. We are not here, bcoz we stole from whitey, we are here bcoz we cleared interviews, cracked codes and we were willing to go the extra mile, put in extra hours, to do what needs to be done.
The amount of hours that an Indian student is willing to put in, and the amount of blood, sweat and tears he is willing to go through, will put any x-box addicted, dope smoking, weekend partying cool whitey to shame.

With my work experience and graduation in engineering from IIT, I was shortlisted for Wharton, Tuck, Darden and INSEAD.

I worked for a major Security Software company in the US for 2 years as an engineer. They laid off 2100 people and hired 1600 India(ns) to make up for it. Customers constantly complained about comprehension (which shitlibs blaimed on RACIS!!), the Indians couldn’t do the most basic tasks, and the Indian-college educated “programmers” only cut-and-pasted scripts, which they then fiddled with so they never worked. They also NEVER obeyed company policy, but were never fired since they “didn’t understand” despite doing it over and over again. I was laid-off in the second group (which was done to avoid Obama’s Ass-Clown Act) since they didn’t have to pay medical for the Indians overseas. I trained my replacement, a Doctorate in Software Engineering who 1. didn’t know basic grade-school math, and 2.) couldn’t program. Since then the company has done TWO MORE layoffs, and is now going down the crapper faster than an unwanted pregnancy on prom-night.

It is true, I realised that because I have an Australian citizenship, suddenly well known American tech companies are approaching me to come over and work in the US. The reason is that they can’t bring people on H1B anymore and Australians can work in the US on a special E3 visa which is much easier to obtain than H1B and better in many other aspects. Since I am a Jew I am sure many here would not like the idea of me coming over and you shouldn’t worry, I would rather live in Israel than in the US any day. But it is nice to have the option, thanks Trump.
