I’ve taught this verse several times in a Men’s Bible study group. It gets quiet, most banter stops, they look around as if you’ve said something terribly blasphemous. A few really get it, and then the fireworks begin. Typically 1 or 2 men with dominating wife types will inevitably try to downplay or ‘re-interpret” the verse into something completely different. They can’t stand up to their wives but they can sure as shit stand up to that evil Word of God.
