She may have stolen a lot of money from powerful people but they were venture capitalists not the famous people on the board. The way these deals work is that famous people with a lot of political juice are put on the board. Their function is to provide credibility for raising money and to forestall having regulators look too closely at the company, it’s products, and its finances. The board members get huge stock options in exchange for their Rolodexes and a few days a year of showing up for meetings. That is how creatures like Hillary end up on the boards of companies they know nothing about. If the company takes off then they cash in. If not, they haven’t given up much. This case is a little different because she has embarrassed the Big Men.

Yes. I have seen this close up in business. The level of avarice shocked me.
I was senior mgmt at a private company that had given equity to employees. The founder/CEO was Jewish. After the company became profitable it visibly pained him to sign dividend payment authorizations to his employees to whom he had granted equity in the company. I was there when he did it. “We’re paying Julie this much?” He winced like someone was taking a pound of flesh out of him. I was like goddamn man, Julie has been your loyal servant for years. YOU gave her those shares. YOU SHOULD be happy that someone who’s been loyal to you for years is getting payout. But no. I could tell he was trying to figure out a way to screw everyone but even he couldn’t figure it. There was nothing but pain for him to part with shekels he’d promised the people who helped him build his company.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Watching that man and his board buddy (also a tribal) operate was a helluva dose of the JQ for me.
Whites can be greedy, sure. But I’ve never seen anything like at that level. No remorse or guilt at all. There is no doubt in my mind it’s something in their blood.

I am currently scouting a script in H0llywood on this very topic.
It is about a group of young American college men who hear of the plight of the Wh1te South Africans at the hands of the C0mmunists and decide to put together a wEapons drop for the farmers but they have to do it on a shoestring and fly the w3apons in from Namibia.
Their rickety old plane gets sh0t up as they fly in and they have to ditch. It is looking like Blackhawk Down all over again when they are saved by the selfless efforts of the beleagured farmers and join them in making a stand against overwhelming forces on one of the local farms.
For some reason, I am not getting much interest in this highly-relevant @ction-packed and inspiring tale of adventure telling the story of young Americans making great s@crifices in the f1ght for the freedom of others.

I’d bet that in person she has a Jobbsian reality distortion field. After five minutes in meeting with her, you too would be able to get onboard with the mission of realizing a healthcare paradigm around early detection, prevention, and consumer empowerment (note the three dot-point structure)
A nice lesson in being alpha, here: deep voice and speaking slowly. The thing that a young-ish woman in that position needs to avoid is coming across as a flighty featherbrain. It seems unnatural because it is unnatural: this person has had hours and hours of vocal coaching. The unblinking stare, too: Henry Kissinger has the same thing.
So, what did she get wrong? Well, her product simply doesn’t work. Pathologists don’t take vials of blood for testing because it’s fun, they do it because it’s the only way. If her testing system worked, she’d be golden right now.
Compounding that problem, she probably surrounded herself with yes-people (or turned them into yes-people by hypnosis). The clincher was her having no ethics whatever. Ethics are a safety rail. Without that, what happened, happened.

When the last dollar is burned, when Bezos walks away with his hundreds of billions of stolen stock cash and the model is exposed as a failure, there won’t BE any stores left at the end.

There are obviously numerous reasons why she was able to pull off the Theranos scam. One reason, though, is that very deep voice. You’re likely to get much less negative feedback or general pushback. I myself have a deep voice (one where people often do a double-take because they imagine it would come from a 6’8 walking meat stick of a man), and among its many benefits is people thinking you are more competent than you actually are.

So, I just found out that the contractor (MCM – Munilla Construction Management) that designed and built the pedestrian bridge that just collapsed the other day, was a ‘diversity’ (minority-owned) company – owned by Cuban-Americans. This was a complicated FIGG Engineering project using the Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) technique, and this MCM company clearly was not qualified to see it to fruition. It is nice to know, though, that they are a member of the LBA (Latin Builders Association).
Here is an interesting photo of the management team at MCM, with Paul Manafort (yes, THAT Paul Manafort) and a Chinese investor (Yan Jiehe, a billionaire who heads Pacific Construction Group, China’s largest privately owned builder), who was trying to partner with a Miami-based construction firm to get some lucrative U.S. building projects. Hmmmm…..
