Tucked within this post by Steve Sailer on the last surviving WWII physicist Freeman Dyson, might be the most subversive argument against globalism and mass scale urbanization I’ve read yet.
Steve quotes Dyson in a review Dyson wrote of Scale: The Universal Laws of Growth, Innovation, Sustainability, and the Pace of Life in Organisms, Cities, Economies, and Companies by Geoffrey West of the Santa Fe Institute.

On the average, people in villages are not more capable than people in cities. But if ten million people are divided into a thousand genetically isolated villages, there is a good chance that one lucky village will have a population with outstandingly high average capability, and there is a good chance that an inbreeding population with high average capability produces an occasional bunch of geniuses in a short time.
The effect of genetic isolation is even stronger if the population of the village is divided by barriers of rank or caste or religion. Social snobbery can be as effective as geography in keeping people from spreading their genes widely.
A substantial fraction of the population of Europe and the Middle East in the time between 1000 BC and 1800 AD lived in genetically isolated villages, so that genetic drift may have been the most important factor making intellectual revolutions possible. Places where intellectual revolutions happened include, among many others, Jerusalem around 800 BC (the invention of monotheistic religion), Athens around 500 BC (the invention of drama and philosophy and the beginnings of science), Venice around 1300 AD (the invention of modern commerce), Florence around 1600 (the invention of modern science), and Manchester around 1750 (the invention of modern industry).
These places were all villages, with populations of a few tens of thousands, divided into tribes and social classes with even smaller populations. In each case, a small starburst of geniuses emerged from a small inbred population within a few centuries, and changed our ways of thinking irreversibly. These eruptions have many historical causes. Cultural and political accidents may provide unusual opportunities for young geniuses to exploit.

But the appearance of a starburst must be to some extent a consequence of genetic drift. The examples that I mentioned all belong to Western cultures. No doubt similar starbursts of genius occurred in other cultures, but I am ignorant of the details of their history.
West’s neglect of villages as agents of change raises an important question. How likely is it that significant numbers of humans will choose to remain in genetically isolated communities in centuries to come? We cannot confidently answer this question. The answer depends on unpredictable patterns of economic development, on international politics, and on even more unpredictable human desires.
But we can foresee two possible technological developments that would result in permanent genetic isolation of human communities. One possibility is that groups of parents will be able to give birth to genetically modified children, hoping to give them advantages in the game of life. The children might be healthier or longer-lived or more intellectually gifted than other children, and they might no longer interbreed with natural-born children.
I have predicted that sexbots will gravely disrupt the functioning of the Western sexual market.
The other possibility is that groups of people will emigrate from planet Earth and build societies far away in the depths of space. West considers neither of these possibilities. His view of the future sees humans remaining forever a single species confined to a single planet. If the future resembles the past, humans will be diversifying into many species and spreading out over the universe, as our hominin ancestors diversified and spread over this planet.

Getting back to Dyson’s lucid argument for the value of village life (and concomitantly for the de-scaling of America’s managerialist administrative state and a de-urbanization of its big blue coastal shitlibopolises), what he’s suggesting — that small isolated towns and villages produce the geniuses who create and expand civilization — is profound beyond words, because it contradicts in every fathomable way the neoliberal globohomo orthodoxy.
Dyson is saying that the opposite of globalist miscegenation agitprop — inbreeding in small, local, racially distinct communities — is the ENGINE OF PROGRESS.
The restrained and range restricted sexual market of the village dating life is the source pool for the starbursts of genius and the Truth & Beauty which shoot out like a supernova from those starbursts.
Think on that and laugh, because a more total refutation of leftoid equalism you won’t find anywhere (except at places like this blog).
Dyson then warns us on the likelihood of humans choosing to “remain in genetically isolated communities”. Our neoshitliberal effetes want to herd us all into ever-larger and dysfunctional megacities. They WANT to depopulate the countryside and crush the small town and village because they know, even if they’ll never come right out and say it, that those goy outposts are where rebels, revolutionaries, and great new thinkers will come from to challenge their despotic orwellian surveillance state gynarcho-tyrannical rule.
Dyson’s warning is unfolding. The trend away from small town America and into Citizen of the World Coastal MegaBabels has only accelerated in the time since the West birthed those starbursts of genius and changed the world forever. Americans, and Westerners in general, and young fertile women in particular, are choosing to leave those genetically isolated communities for the genetic slop bucket of the anonymous urban sexual jungle.
The future is grim for the West and hence for humanity, if Dyson is right.
In effect, the small town and village are an organic constraint on female sexuality. Women of genius-bearing age are limited by small town life in how aggressively they can satisfy their hypergamous urge; instead of the density of alpha males in the cities where anonymity protects against the consequences of impulsive romantic choices, the small town offers no such cockucopia possibilities or protections for women. They must choose from among a smaller pool of men, and they will often settle happily for their small town men because male SMV is relative, and without the glut of cads that the city presents to women their small town men look better for the lack of comparison. This gives those starbursts of genius genes a chance at a foothold (or poonhold) in young willing women, and the opportunity to multiply in large families where cost of living is low and lebensraum is expansive.
Restricting female sexuality is the formula for unleashing civilizational genius! Who woulda thunk it?

Genetic engineering is dumb: A child that is purposely created to share *less* alleles with you? That defeats the whole point of meiosis and sexual reproduction, and the whole basis of parental investment and bonding. Kids could have objectively better traits but parents might actually love them less.
Parents may give their kids +20 IQ so that they can ignore them guilt free while they go off the explore their own SMV and drain their 401K. And if we assume parental investment matters, (sorry Jayman- it does), then genetically engineered kids might not actually turn out all that well.

Real villages are based on walking. There are more real villages (neighborhoods) in the cities than outside of them now, due to mass car ownership. Red state proles who commute everywhere and move every 5 years for a “good school district” or pointless house flipping are the real rootless cosmopolitans. Urban rent controlled apartments or even section 8 housing are actually more traditional than muh subdivision with muh lawns.

One is a stew caused by the presence of hot young alpha hunters, the other is bourgeois, family-oriented, tightly knit, highly educated. I’m slightly surprised at your reaction to the point of colonization of other planets. Is it because any pioneer ships will almost assuredly be packed with coloreds and severely stunt the process or because time spent poolside is extremely hindered when you have to build the pool first?

It’s because this idea that we have any technology on the radar, RIGHT NOW, which would allow us to make our way to a planet of just the right temperature and just the amount of [not frozen, not vaporous] water and just the right amount of oxygen in the air – that idea is simply LUDICROUS.
Even if we had near-light drives, it would require four or five years of travel in weightlessness [which no human physiology could survive] just to get to the nearest star and discover: Too Hot, Too Cold, No Water, No Oxygen.

But CAPT there IS theoretical technologies on the horizon that will allow this. The math has been done and is sound. Now barring a spectacular practical breakthrough, it’s going to take a while. Just because the theory seems credible doesn’t mean the engineering is currently doable.
And that is a good, if not a GREAT, thing.
Can you imagine what would happen if we were to go and colonize a new world tomorrow. Who would be in charge? What would the crew consist of? On what structure would it be run. Etc etc. It would be a disaster.
You know what I mean.
So if it takes 100-300 years or more to happen, that’s a good thing. By that time, the natural hierarchy should have restored itself. If it doesn’t happen that way, it’s not going to matter anyway.
Let those who dream of colonizing distant worlds lay the foundations for eventually taking the white race to the stars.
And it WILL be the white race or no one. Look at any Mission Control room from NASA, to SpaceX to Blue Origin to the Russians, to well everyone. Then look at the rest of the team.

The current state of NASA and scifi leaves me utterly unenthusiastic about space travel. I foresee the first Mars mission as a Herculean endeavor, combining all the top minds and resources of YT, 20 hour workdays and simulations and test flights and rehearsals and checking and rechecking every digit and decimal — assembling a massive human pyramid of Whites — for the miserable purpose of propelling a frizzy haired negress to be the first humanoid to twerk on another planet.
If we can’t keep them out of our childrens schools, our universities, jobs, shopping malls and restaurants, we won’t be able to keep them off our spaceships. So what’s the point?

Not so. With respect to an Earth-bound clock, yes. With respect to a clock on the hypothetical speedy spaceship, no. Equivalently, the astronauts will see distances along the direction of their speedy travel shrink and they will measure a much shorter travel time. At relativistic speeds, you’ve got to be careful which clocks and tape measures you use to measure time and length.

Well, as I walked past the newsstand today the headlines were screaming about how Trump admits he paid this Stormy whore, and that Guiliiani “may have” caused Trump all sorts of legal problems now.
The other main headline was how a local city’s police department was NOT going to avail itself of ICE’s offer to share the latter’s database of illegal immigrants known to be in said city, nor cooperate with ICE in any fashion.
Said city does have a not-insignificant Hispanic population, I might add, among its 75K residents.

You don’t need that many to have a safe reproductive pool. If you start with 1,000 you should be relatively fine. And you will need to have that many (or more) in order to run all the basic industry in order to keep the colony operational unless you want it to be entirely dependent on earth imports (which is a very bad idea when it comes to life support systems).

All you have to do is listen to Hank Williams Jr. to know that village people ARE more competent than city people. Hands down. I can plow a field all day long, catch catfish from dusk till dawn. I can skin a buck, I can run a trotline, and a country boy can survive. City people are dependent on government for transportation, policing and often housing. All they really know how to do is use yelp, GPS and serve as corporate automatons inside steel and glass cages. For fucks sake. Obviously villages produce better quality people than cities. I can do both and have a very low opinion of city people. I live in a city now and find them deeply annoying. I can’t wait to get back to the country. All the farms I know of back home are well run, clean and in good repair because people can fend for themselves well.

As a rule, any claims of personal accomplishment indicate an argument lost. Fine whatever who cares.
The last few five+ years, I have pulled three or four hundred lbs potatoes out of the back yard garden, and which potato plots are but about a third of the turned-over-earth portion of the garden.
For this commenter that has been a necessary compromise. Others might spend their time in two places. In my experience that is a lot of running around.

The tragedy will have to play out to the final note now, and there is nobody who can change the forces of dissolution and struggle that have been set in motion.
At this point, of course, violence is futile. As noted previously, the only chances for normality to reassert itself will come either when:
1. The Left kicks off festivities by opening trying to butcher and/or mass dispossess the heavily armed normies on a nationwide scale.
2. The Mexicans take over the country and ruin it, which going by Mexico (a much less advanced country they STILL can’t run successfully) will take about 6 months. At which point the utter chaos will lead to the emergence of a completely new order, eventually, and after much mayhem. This seems the most probable outcome.

If I could say it in my own way, human progress in beauty, athleticism, and intelligence is driven by the people in the far right tail of the distribution so you want the distribution to be as wide as possible.
When humanity is in villages, the distribution is a lot wider, with disastrous outcomes (tribes with dwarfism, etc) in the left tail yet Nordic beauty, Ashkenazi intelligence, and African speed in the right tail. In cities this gets jumbled up with some reversion to the mean and a narrower distribution, hence a lower likelihood of producing genius.

Last night my daughter had a talent show. Grades 2 to 6. There is shockingly very little talent there. No piano prodigies, guitar players, tap dancers, ballet, nothing. One magician.
We live in an older historic mostly middle class neighborhood that has been turning into a much less homogenous white area because cuck churches own houses and rent them to refugees, the apartments that were for elderly white people are now each 10 deep with various curry settlers and of course section 8 has increased because these homes are the only ones that can meet the stringent guidlines for single family dwellings. In a slow market, the home owners( often whites who inherited the old family home but live further out) rent because they like the revenue stream or can’t sell for enough money and flush the community down the drain in the process.
the takeaway: dwindling generation to generation talents or skills, no masculine endeavors, mostly jungle dancing and bad pop covers of the Beyonce/Bruno Mars variety. so sad. If the shoe was on the other foot one may call that cultural imperialism. She is an arts and crafter. She did not have a stage act, but displayed her wood work on the tables leading into the auditorium. She also makes excellent jams. We rent a table at farmers markets in the summer. Ive taught her many fun homesteading skills. She’s 11 and makes me my coffee every morning that I have a day off. Now that’s a skill.

Last night my daughter had a talent show. Grades 2 to 6. There is shockingly very little talent there. No piano prodigies, guitar players, tap dancers, ballet, nothing. One magician.
We live in an older historic mostly middle class neighborhood that has been turning into a much less homogenous white area because cuck churches own houses and rent them to refugees, the apartments that were for elderly white people are now each 10 deep with various curry settlers and of course section 8 has increased because these homes are the only ones that can meet the stringent guidlines for single family dwellings. In a slow market, the home owners( often whites who inherited the old family home but live further out) rent because they like the revenue stream or can’t sell for enough money and flush the community down the drain in the process.
the takeaway: dwindling generation to generation talents or skills, no masculine endeavors, mostly jungle dancing and bad pop covers of the Beyonce/Bruno Mars variety. so sad. If the shoe was on the other foot one may call that cultural imperialism. Either way, the shared geographically and ethnically specific cultural norms that people can master and then advance are just being obliterated with mass culture which is poisonous and debased.
One more observation. To a tee every boy had a soft name. Braeden, Caden, Kyrie, Jaime, etc. The negro names are indistinguishable so who knows. The foreigners tend to keep their gender dichotomy in names it seems but again, I cant tell as I dont know their language.
Many of the girls had masculine names where the parents take last names like Parker, Madison, MacKenzie, Addison. etc to give their go grrls for a nice square jawed headstart to their careers. Now theyre ready for Scouts BSA.
