what people do not seem to be able to grasp is that the production rates of these new finds, which are historically unremarkable in terms of probable reserves, are very LOW. Like the “huge” finds brazil made, tens of billions of bbl in the ground. Max expected production rate, 500kbpd.
The amount of oil we chew through in a year isn’t divisible against reserves to come up with lifespan. Really much more important is consumption per day and whether the new finds can accommodate that level of production at any kind of EROI that makes sense.
Where is that hydrogen economy they were bleating about 10 years ago? All lies and hype. Same with batteries, where is the juice gonna come from? We’re chained to petrochem if only because of agriculture.

Production won’t fall off a cliff necessarily, but what we’ve done is translate NG into crude via tarsands, and sort of the same thing to get tight formations produced.
They’ve known about tight formations for a long time but nobody was desperate enough to frack them. Horizontal fracking been around for a long time too. Technology didn’t prolong field life, it enabled us to run faster to stay in place…slurped the oil out faster. They find a field now, they bang it with primary, secondary, and tertiary extraction techniques from the jump to get as much as fast as possible and then it depletes typically falling off a cliff at year 8-12.
Export Land Model is also important to understand with respect to oil. A billion chinks and a billion .roaches want to drive SUVs like we do…can’t be done.

The chart is disingenous. With the oil we know we have now, 2050 is the target for “running out of oil”. That is if you subscribe to oil being “fossil fuels”. If you look at the abiotic theory of oil generation, oil is a natural resource that is naturally generated by the earth. There are documented abiotic sources of hydrocarbons in deep oceanic vents. If oil is indeed only derived from biological sources, why are the gas giants in our solar system gas giants? Where did the planets, Uranus, Neptune and Saturn, full of gas hydrocarbons, come from?

I grew up just outside of San Antonio. From a very early age, I was very aware that my nation was being invaded by hostile aliens. Going into town might as well have been a journey to another country. A full third of the people you crossed paths with didn’t speak English at all, more so if you went into a restaurant and interacted with the staff.

They seem to think that the women are all clones of a young Sophia Vergara, not realizing that the attractive ones have rich families and stay in Mexico, and that it’s actually La Goblina jumping the border with her 6 kids for the gibs and to get back at whitey for “””stealing””” “””her””” land, while bringing crime and 3rd world hygiene and disease with her brood.
The Wall will help, but we’re going to actively start sending them all back if we want to avoid turning Texas and the rest of the US into Mexico part 2.

The blood libel hoax, as you describe it, is merely a recognition of the right of conquest. Vox describes it as such, and if you read what he actually writes, he makes the point often that you only deserve territory you can hold and defend.
Half of his heritage is American founding stock, the other side Mexican and Native American. He is criticizing his own ancestors for taking the land from his other ancestors.
And if you haven’t noticed, he brings up his Native American blood as a rhetorical attack against those who see him as an evil White Devil, flipping the script on them for attacking not a white man, but a red Indian/Native American.

It’s doubtful peak oil will ever be a concern in the US. Fracking has expanded supply exponentially. It will also be supplemented by nuclear, solar, wind, etc. Don’t buy into the environmentalists’ scare mongering.
