Here’s a absolutely true story from my diverse setting: a negress named Ebony lives in an apartment at the Housing Authority near where I work, and has a monthly rent of $10, which she doesn’t pay for 2 or 3 months, so she gets an eviction notice, which she ignores, so a few more months go by, then she ignores her court date, so the sheriff is called, and when he gets around to sending a deputy to her apartment she calmly lies to him and tells him Ebony moved out and she’s the new tenant, which he believes, and fails to get her ID to verify her bald-faced lie, and when he’s then told by the Property Manager that he’s been punked, he goes back to her apartment but she doesn’t answer, either hiding or left, and this officer has now apparently forgotten about it because he hasn’t been back, and this morning, after about 6 months of this, there she is, sitting on her front porch without a care in the world, or at least without a rent in the world, while the big, bureaucratic machine of HUD clanks and sputters on, carrying her dead weight into the indeterminate future for God knows how long.
I’m starting to believe that Ebony is the smart one. I think she’s figured out Clown World, and is acting rationally, while we’re the idiots working, paying our bills, taxes, etc.
Here’s the clincher: the Property Manager drives to her office this morning, and Ebony was sitting on her front porch. Ebony waved and smiled to her, like nothing’s happened. Now, I know Ebony, and I don’t think she was being mean at all. She’s a good-natured person, just not worth a damn. She was sincerely being friendly to the Property Mgr., who just shook her head and said “That crazy bitch.”

When I was ten years old I had a small lawn mowing business in a mid Atlantic state. Just a kid mowing lawns for 7 to 10 bucks a job. Only had one customer ever try to hustle a little kid out of his lawnmowing money.

Wanted irrational things like let the lawn grow tall and then cut it short. Then call me back and chew me out about how there’s clumps of hay all over. Have to cut it all again to get the hay off then she’s not gonna pay me for a second time. I was just a nice little white boy tryna make her happy. My dad, to his credit, tried to instill a shred of backbone in me which I didn’t take too well to based on the rest of my upbringing. Wanted me to approach it from a business perspective, takes two passes to cut a lawn like that, not fair to me, etc.
Boy if my son is in that situation he’s gonna get a different education. Don’t you ever take my equipment on that lady’s property again, she can cut her own grass or pay someone else to deal with it. Your time is more valuable than the two minutes you had to spend listening to that hustle.
She came over one day to my parents (they were good Christian folks, always friendly and helpful) all upset someone had painted racist things on her lawn cause she’s the only black lady on the block. We go over to look at it. Painters had cleaned brushes out and it was just white paint spray where they were hosing stuff off.
I guess it came late, but I learned my lessons eventually.

Years ago, I’m in a Walgreens where a young, female vibrant is sitting on the floor with a pile of nail polishes, opening each up and doing her nails.
A clerk approaches her and suggests that since she has opened them, she is going to have to pay for them.
Now a rational person, when caught helping themselves to free merchandise might apologize, or try to bargain to avoid the consequences, but this is not the way of the vibrant.
Immediately, she leaps up and begins shouting about how hard it is to be vibrant in America when every white person (The clerk was white and female and profusely made excuses that she, in fact, is not a racist) is always accusing them of things they didn’t do. As her monologue continued, she walked towards the door, her hands full of opened nail polish bottles and exited.
It is really quite clever – if one can confuse authority, one can usually get away with a lot.

Exhibit A happens all the time (not the brawling, the not paying). Just about every time I’ve gotten a pedicure and a vibrant is in the salon, they complain about the service. They treat the workers like crap, almost like slaves, and just straight up verbally abuse them. They never tip (learned that as a waitress), and they always find something wrong and either refuse to pay or want a discount. If the salon workers are experienced enough, they make the vibrants wait for service until they get fed up and leave. Lost count of how many times I got preference as a walk in, while the salon workers claim I had an appointment.
What’s worse is you see vibrants brag about how they get free stuff on Twitter using theft and crying racism. Once saw an entire thread detailing how they steal hundreds of dollars worth of groceries at the Walmart self checkout while only paying $15. If caught, they cry racism and usually get away with it.
And then they expect us to care when they’re treated poorly by the world. Right.

The never tipping part is so true. I spent several years as a waiter in my younger years and can say with scientific certainty that the darkest-hued vibrants are terrible tippers. They always took sadistic joy in running you ragged and then never even left a ten percent tip. But trust me, we got them back in ways they never quite realized!

What is interesting is the cooperation on the part of the Asian ladies. Although individually out-matched strengthwise, they never quit, and they use the weapons to hand. A camera is rolling, obviously, but no one pulls out their phone to just record the action. They fight as a unit. Quite impressive. As the rest of the video suggests, this is not an Asian neighborhood, which makes it all the more impressive.

I’ve been in Poland for about seven months. They are by far the nicest people I’ve ever met, almost unfailing in their manners, and it grieves me to the core to reflect that they won’t survive this way.
The old people smile. Everyone says good day, excuse me, thank you, you’re welcome. Even the toughest-looking chavs say excuse me, sir. The kids play unattended, ambling up to you without fear like Galapagos turtles.
If anyone wants to experience white society of yore – as far as manners and that – come to Poland right now.
That said, it just makes me uneasy. Berlin is a four-hour bus away. It’s already visible in Krakow and Warsaw. Last time in the latter, I counted four black on white couples. The usual. They keep out Muslims, but they let in “Christian” African students, and of course Asians, Indians, etc.
I tell Poles the horror stories from Germany, UK, Sweden, they act like it’s a different planet. Lambs to the slaughter.
