CO, much of what the Founding Generation discussed in the summer of 1787 had to do with the structure of government – the Bill of Rights was an afterthought to appease the rightfully skeptic Anti-Federalists.
People talk about how important the Federalist Papers are, but the Anti-Federalist Papers are much more interesting. They point out the flaws and glaring issues in the Constitution that haunt us to this day, such as the insane amount of power the Courts have, and how ambiguous clauses like the Commerce Clause will be horribly abused by those who wish to expand Federal Power.
