Like radiation. Colon cancers usually start because epithelial cells rapidly proliferate; that rapid proliferation makes it more likely mutations will start and once triggered, develop into a polyp and over time, a cancerous cell. Long term inflammation of bladder cells from stones can trigger bladder cancers. There is a decent causative link between H.
