If this advertisement were truly meant to be benevolent, it would show a man sacrificing like this for his son, not a daughter who will likely grow up to be yet another spoiled entitled cunt demanding to be made the boss. All it really does is reinforce the cult of the spoiled pussy bearer and how men should be their slaves. How is this different from every ad that has women as the boss. We get all weepy because the little girl is still innocent enough to show a morsel of appreciation for the poor father. It is so clever, even this group falls for it. It looks to me there is no wife. My dad went through the same shit because my egg donor ran off. He sacrificed alot by working two jobs then numerous side hustles like remodeling,carpet cleaning,reselling cars. Whatever it took to keep his boy fed and out of the memphis public school system. Yeah he did alot of that to send me to a private school. Even taught me everyone of his side hustles which I make money from now. It’s not beta for any dad to bust their ass for their offspring actually it is pretty fucking alpha. What’s beta is not disciplining a child when they fuck up, spoiling them with everything, letting them see you worry in front of them by not remaining stoic, and not teaching them how to make a living. My view about my own kids is I will raise them the best that I can. When they become adults they can do whatever they want. The oldest ones know once they become adults if they choose degeneracy as a life they won’t be welcomed in my presence. One of the biggest problems in this country is parents of adult children were the adult kid becomes degenerate and the parent allows them to come around or even worse becomes a enabler of the kids degeneracy. Shunning in that circumstance takes alot of love which most can’t understand or don’t want to understand.

Yes, in the 80s. We had phone company commercials that would make people cry. Coffee ads would have a prodigal son announce his return by brewing his ma a cuppa while the narrator chokes up singing “the best part of waking up is Folgers in your cup”.
Americans were more earnest and sincere back then. Pop song lyrics were hearts on sleeves. And pop stars themselves were weird because they were being themselves instead of conforming to marketability. Then early 90s made cynicism and sarcasm cool and the literalism and genuineness of the 80s seemed cheesy. I think these tastes are cyclical. I don’t know about the commercials of the cynical 70s but I would guess that they were cooler and more reserved than the sappy and enthusiastic ones from the 80s.
In some ways 2016 seems like a loop of the cycle from 1980. Us old guys who’ve seen it all are taken aback by the emotionalism of the Hong Kong ad because there hasn’t been an American version in so long. We’re like Archie Bunker if he was real and lived into the 80s long enough to see Sally Struthers do a feed the children ad.

Yes it’s nice there isn’t a bunch of overt poz like race mixing in the commercial but it is still wrong. Really really wrong. The gist of it is that hard work is shameful and that money and material things and appearances matter more than honesty. That little girl is going to grow up and ride the caurosel because her daddy is teaching her life is supposed to be easy. That isn’t what a man does. A man doesn’t lie to his kids and play dress up.
What better lesson to a young girl than to tell her “No. You can’t have ice cream because daddy was working all night doing hard ass manual labor and we barely have enough money to keep the lights on.”

Not to put them on a pedestal, but the Chinese haven’t slaked themselves on the globohomo KoolAid like the West has. Communism in China wears Chinese history like a skin to hide itself and the result has been a consolidation of nationalism. Whether this means that the Chinese will revolt against the CCP is another question.
Even despite the corruption and nepotism I expect that they will pull ahead of the West in STEM over the next decade – even STEM is getting pozz’d in the West. The result will be a reduction in innovation and results, and loss of technological advantage, with the economic stagnation that implies.
