No one can follow up and investigate our allegations for veracity, and anyone who dares to disbelieve us will be publicly pilloried as a misogynist. So why not play this card? It’s a freebie. We have everything to gain (deep-sixing the SCOTUS nomination of a right-winger) and nothing to lose (our credibility isn’t based on facts but on harmony with the reigning man-hating zeitgeist).
